March 31, 201610 yr Complete his rehabilitation? The public hate him just as much now as ever... I respect your opinion but I don't agree with it in the slightest. The guy has kept his nose clean for the last 4 years or so and been widely acknowledged as the best centreback in this country over that period.
March 31, 201610 yr If he doesn't go as a player he should at least go as a defensive adviser to the likes of Stones, as he could do wonders in teaching him what Martinez has failed to.

March 31, 201610 yr By pundits maybe, not the public. Like I said, I can respect if that's been your experience but for me football supporters seem to widely respect for what he's accomplished off the pitch. Sure there's always going to be that segment of the population who will only ever know him for the tabloid crap but I'm not particularly concerned with their opinions. From what I can see he's done a fantastic job coming back from those darker moments and this would just cement that.
March 31, 201610 yr The Sun headline writing by the Guardian there. A somewhat 'creative' interpretation on my part too in all fairness.

People hate him still, social media proves it, see it all the time on things like Facebook twitter and general forums. Even the ones who are big enough to admit he is one of, if not the best PL defender ever, there usually follows a big 'But...' and you get all the usual Wayne Bridge, full kit w**ker etc sh*te come pouring out.

OK, like I said I respect that's your experience but it's not everyone else's. 'Social media proves it' might be my new favourite phrase though.

Unless you have direct contact with the millions of football fans in this country....I'd say it's probably the way of gauging the true feelings. Unless you are going to base other people's feeling on your own? Edited March 31, 201610 yr by Blue Exile

Unless you are going to base other people's feeling on your own? Like I said, I can only go by my own experience. Is he universally loved? No, but he's rehabilitated his image to a large extent and that deserves recognition.
March 31, 201610 yr JT will not go even if begged IMO. I would love him to go and be Man of every match to prove a point then refuse to play the final 10 mins before KO for revenge but it won't happen. Any news on the contract situation? I am guessing it's a no!

March 31, 201610 yr Much as I would like to see him represent England again, screw Stones benefitting from his wisdom unless he's a Chelsea player...keep that for Zouma/Christensen and co.
April 2, 201610 yr if he's finished this summer then I don't mind him taking a role like giggs is doing at MU for chelsea.. I think it's better that way for him rather than bowing out like a whim ala rio ferdinand by playing at other 'lesser' club..

April 9, 201610 yr Lovely words from Matt Miazga about JT. Chelsea's Matt Miazga learning from captain John Terry "I've seen John always training in the gym, keeping his body fit. The way he takes care of his body as an older player -- you've just got to develop those habits. "Also on the pitch, the positioning they have. John's played over 700 games and you can see the little things he does, positioning his body to deal with crosses and reading plays. If I ever have questions I ask and he's always willing to answer, so it's been good. When will the board figure out that investing in John Terry means investing in youth?

What's especially nice is that he didn't just hand over the money, although that of course is a wonderful gesture, but he also took the time to personally write to the young boy. I'm sure how parents will cherish that letter forever.
April 11, 201610 yr Author Very sad that he was in a position to make the gesture in the first place but brilliant of JT to show such generosity.
April 11, 201610 yr I'm sure he does plenty things like this and whilst it's a tragic circumstance it's humbling to see JT helping those in need. R.I.P to the young boy and I hope his family get through this tough situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
