Which current English players would you bring to Chelsea?

Featured Replies

If we could bring any one of the current batch of English players (not including our players on loan) in the league to chelsea, who would you bring in?

Sturridge, rate him so highly and Lallana, we don't need a player like him with our players in that position but I'd put him ahead of salah and schurrle at least and this season he's been more consistent than Oscar

That's pretty much ruled out, though.

Yeah agreed, wasn't being realistic to be honest, probably just luke shaw in terms out what's possible/likely

I don't know how realistic they are, though.

Young English talent is always quite expensive, and convincing Everton to part with Barkley would be very difficult.

i would be happy to swap lukaku for barkley. great young player, dynamic, confident, and does what very few of our attacking players do at the moment. he takes responsibility for lading the team and driving them forwards. a sign of real character at such a young age, would be a tremendous addition

Shaw, Barkley, Rooney and Sturridge are probably the only ones who would get into our team. Shaw and Barkley would be backup though.

I would get Rodriguez off Southampton if we could get him. He's improved a lot this season and is far better than Torres and Ba. Would get Shaw to fight it out with Bertrand for the lb spot as well.

But that would cost an absolute fortune so it wont happen......

Shaw and Barkley are the obvious ones.

I'd have taken Rooney if we was a couple of years younger, he'd be ideal as the spearhead of our attack. Sturridge would have been another good option but there's no chance of him coming back here.

I like Lallana but think he'd struggle to get into our first team.

Just Barkley and Shaw.

Agree 100% with you on Barkley and Shaw. But me? I'm 53 this year and have a wonky knee and jippy hip. Plus I am also a bit of fattie, Fatty. That said, if you are bringing me in to replace Torres I definitely couldn't be any worse!

Count me in.

I think we have to sign Shaw. He's quality and Chelsea born and bred. Potential to be a real leader for the next decade.

Barkley alongside Matic could be potentially brilliant. I could see them complementing each other very well.

Barkley, Shaw, Lallana... I'd even like to see Rodriguez lead the line (17 for the season and counting).

I'd still have Rooney here even though it isn't going to happen and I've always quite liked Walcott as well, I think he a very decent finisher and always tries to make things happen in attack.
