December 8, 201411 yr keeps proving the doubters (myself included) wrong. Who needs Lukaku when you have Drogba..
December 10, 201411 yr "Didier is like Filippo Inzaghi was at AC Milan - he simply devours any competition. It is not that he is evil. Nor was Inzaghi. It is just the way they both are."
January 1, 201511 yr I was very surprised he didn't come on at half-time. Was he on the bench? He would have frightened the life out of them.

January 1, 201511 yr I hear you Barak, but Oscar was hooked, and I felt Willian should have been too, for Drogba.
January 1, 201511 yr I got the impression that for whatever reason Jose didn't want to change the shape of the team and that's why we only saw like for like changes. Costa wasn't doing anything wrong up front and so that's why we didn't see Drogba today.
January 26, 201511 yr Well done to the big man, the legend of our club well done Didier for receiving yet another award you deserve it :) https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153150638482259
January 28, 201511 yr we need the big fella to roll back the years once again on saturday now that diego looks set to be banned.he thrives on these games!
January 28, 201511 yr I was thinking Remy but I think it has got to be this man. I am confident he will always deliver in games like this. Man United he let us down with his movement and lack of pace but he still came out scoring the only goal of the game, he still looked up for it. Come on Drogba!.
January 28, 201511 yr Didier is the man for Saturday, I'm pretty confident he'll give us a performance that's his nature: big game / big player
January 29, 201511 yr If Costa does miss the City game, I would rather we start with Remy and have Drogba on the bench to throw on if need be. Drogs has shown the odd glimpse of what we used to get, but at times he has looked all of his near 37 years and I just can't see him causing City many problems if he plays anything like he did against Bradford.
January 29, 201511 yr I cant see Jose not picking Drogba if Costa does end up being suspended. He doesn't seem to trust or rate Remy for whatever reason and I could even see him leaving in the summer.
February 1, 201511 yr On the Telegraph there was a bit about Drogba apparently saying he will still be here next season. I'll be very disappointed if we renew his contract again. He'll be 37 next year and we really need to be looking at promoting Bamford to that 3rd spot.
February 1, 201511 yr This season will be it I think. Go out on top again like before if we win the league
February 1, 201511 yr It's a bit sad that he left after Munich. He would have been very useful in those years with our striker's drought. (A bit like Zola leaving when RA arrived at the club.) But the financial offers were better elsewhere I guess, and I can understand that.

People doubted it when he came back at the start of the season but he's shown he's still very capable playing at this level. If he and Mourinho think he can perform for another season then I don't see a problem

February 1, 201511 yr We can't phase Bamford in with Drogba still on the roster? Not if we're keeping Remy as well. We play 1 striker, so having 4 means he would never get a game. And Drogba isn't good enough to be the 2nd choice anymore, so we need someone like Remy.
February 2, 201511 yr I will be more than happy to see him sign another contract not a problem at all. Sooo much respect for the big man.
February 2, 201511 yr It's a tough one. Legend that he is, he's really only had one match where he's looked even close to the Drogba of old and that was the Spurs home game. Got the goal at United but felt he limited us a little bit and had some decent performances against weaker opposition, but if we've got a young talented player like Bamford then couldn't he get those minutes?
February 2, 201511 yr People doubted it when he came back at the start of the season but he's shown he's still very capable playing at this level. If he and Mourinho think he can perform for another season then I don't see a problem He hasn't really. The odd glimpse here and there but that's nowhere near enough for a top club looking to win the PL & CL every season. As much as he is a Club Legend, I will be extremely disappointed if we go into next season with Drogba one of our first 3 strikers.
February 2, 201511 yr I think he's been pretty crap overall. Better off going with Bamford as 3rd choice next season and offering Didier some kind of coaching role if he fancies hanging up his boots. Trouble is I think Mourinho is looking for someone who is similar to Costa, i.e. a powerful forward, to be backup to him. Remy and Bamford aren't of that ilk. Edited February 2, 201511 yr by 1905.
