November 11, 201411 yr Claude is bang on about Arsenal and Wenger, that club isn't going to move forward until he goes and the last decade is evidence of that, 10 years of rebuilding and the team is weaker than ever. That bloke with his branded beanie, headphones and water bottle is an idiot.
November 11, 201411 yr Agreed Jonty but we come back, when discussing Arsenal, to the bottom line of money. As some posters have said, he's probably safe until they miss out on CL qualification. January will obviously be v important to Arsenal fans and if Wenger stuffs up transfers like usual and the Gooners are off the pace for CL qualification, he might be in trouble. I think that, despite everything, he's safe as far as the club are concerned.
November 11, 201411 yr Davy Moysie off to Real sociedad. 15th in the league. I guess his remit is to keep them in the league.
November 11, 201411 yr Good on Moyes taking on a new challenge, think it was a wise move, after managing United pretty much any job is going to be a step down but by trying his hand abroad it's a fresh challenge in a new environment and he can try to rebuild his reputation under less scrutiny. You can't help feeling he was eventually made a scapegoat for the failings at United, the fact they've invested so heavily since he left and had such a high turn over of playing staff since last season shows that the squad he inherited wasn't fit for purpose.
November 11, 201411 yr I do feel bad for Moyes..... now. He went to United with a team that Fergie let rot. That team was finished and the board didnt back Moyes. Of course he was going to fail. LvG has said it will take 3 years to fix United, yeah thats because Fergie hadnt bothered to build a new team before he left them. LvG has less points at this stage than Moyes did last season and yet he has spent 200 odd million. I say good luck to Moyes. A new country is a good idea to start again.
November 11, 201411 yr I liked him when he was at everton, every now and then he said something annoying as MUFC manager but i suppose thats normal. I wish him good luck, would like to see him back in PL some day.

November 11, 201411 yr BavarianAfrican, Any info as to whether you will be playing the big guns at the Etihad in two weeks or do we have a chance ? LolI can see Pep resting a good amount of faces, he said in a press conference he was glad Bayern qualified so they could focus on the BuLi.
November 11, 201411 yr a funny Brendan Rodgers/David Brent Vine which I'm not sure how to embed: https://twitter.com/FootyQuandary/status/532178868502011905 Edited November 11, 201411 yr by londonblue
November 11, 201411 yr Seen a few people saying that we should keep Bertrand around and that he's been great for Southampton, and it led me to wonder just how good Southampton actually are. Their most impressive wins are probably the ones at West Ham and Swansea. They lost at Liverpool and Spurs and after their next match away to Villa, they've got Man City, Arsenal and United. We go to them on the 28th of December when we'll know just who this Southampton team is, and then their next two matches are Arsenal and United again. Are they actual contenders?

They are definite top 4 contenders but don't have the players/resources to keep up with us and City over the course of a season

I think Bertrand has been fantastic this season so far. I don't just think it is his defensive side that has improved, it's his attacking play too. I think Luis is a very good full back for us but i don't think he was needed and i think we could have saved ourselves a fair bit of money by keeping hold of Bertrand. I am yet to see Bertrand have a poor game, he is very consistent and a very solid full back.

November 11, 201411 yr Always thought we didn't need to spend so much for a back up left back who is most likely in or past his peak. Bertrand would have been perfect as a back up. However, the other side is that he has come on leaps and bounds from his loan move so it could benefit us in the long term either by having a good left back or a good price for selling him.

I like Bertrand but he's not as good as Luis, Bertrand is one of those decent players but he'll never reach those great heights in my opinion.
November 11, 201411 yr Does anyone have twin girls called Kate and Duplicate? Lol. The way names are going these days, probably. My ex is a teacher and, one year, there was a boy in her class named 'Stranger' and a girl (I swear this is true) named 'Litre'.
November 11, 201411 yr Author Think people are going way over the top with their expectations for Southampton, though I really hope I am wrong though, as it would be great to see them do well.

Their fixtures between now and Christmas will be a true measuring stick of where they belong. Hope they do well, would like to see them in the Top 4
