Because it was magic how Arsenal had all the possession in our middle, yet Loftus cheek was nowhere to be seen. The fact he made barely any mistakes in that second half was more down to him hiding the whole time. How is gallagher or zakaria not getting ahead of that. Because even when we played diamond and 2 defensive fb we still play with two dm 😱😱. No way conor can play in rube role. Ruben was awful but I expected him to push up more but he never did. We simply can't play football like this. Edited November 6, 20223 yr by Bob stark
November 6, 20223 yr Sadly he is a prime example of what makes us not a top side anymore. Lack of any real talent, lazy, poor application. A less talented Havertz basically. And they are both starters.

Really wanna know the logic in playing RLC ahead of gallagher Or zakaria. A central midfielder with zero contribution in a match is a rare accomplishment lol.
November 6, 20223 yr He is fit for an advanced attacking role, one where he doesn't need to run up and down, no major defensive responsibility etc.
November 6, 20223 yr Scared, hid, doesn't want the ball because he doesn't want to make any mistakes. Every time we play a top 6 team he sh*ts his pants. We pay this guy 180K a week, shambles.

I can't believe Zakaria after scoring in his debut got benched for RLC that has been terrible 3 matches in a row regardless of what position he plays.

Feels like we're on autopilot, default cruising towards the next match just to do the exact same low effort and not score any goals. RLC has featured 12 times under Potter, that's equal to Mount as the highest played player, I'm not sure where is this winning formula.

I think we'd all rather want Potter to try something different vs doing the same thing and expecting different results. Think there's a definition for that...
November 6, 20223 yr To be fair Zakaria has only played around 80 minutes football against a Champions League Pot 4 team in the last few months so playing him again a few days later against the league leaders would probably be too much for him. Although the main point is that starting RLC against a top team shows how far we have fallen. Edited November 6, 20223 yr by 2211
November 6, 20223 yr When you see RLC and Jorginho in midfield you know it's going to be a painful match.

November 7, 20223 yr The definition of ‘flatters to deceive’ in the dictionary should have a picture of Loftus Cheek beside it. Exactly what does he do on the pitch? It just passes me by.

The guy is a passenger. Decent squad player but should be nowhere near starting games against top teams in the PL. Tuchel mainly played him at wing back, a position he has played well when he has been asked to play there. I don't have a clue what Potter see's in him as a CM. 14 hours ago, 2211 said: To be fair Zakaria has only played around 80 minutes football against a Champions League Pot 4 team in the last few months so playing him again a few days later against the league leaders would probably be too much for him. He's been here for months now and the first time we use him was in a dead rubber game against Zagreb, a game he performed surprisingly well in, I say surprisingly because I thought that with how little he was being used, he must have been Saul or Bakayoko levels of bad. If he was given more minutes, he could have been a really good option to have with all of these injuries in midfield.

He only played wb because we don't have any other rwb

November 7, 20223 yr Ruben is gonna be a Massive hit for Chelsea……Chelsea ladies, Kingsmeadow awaits🤣🤣🤣
November 7, 20223 yr How the f**k is RLC still a Chelsea player? ( I guess I know the answer to that - no-one else will pay his ludicrous wages). But how is he still being considered for selection when we now have the likes of Gallagher & Carney? No doubt a new coach get's appointed, see's this big physical specimen do a few nice bits in training and think. yeah, he can do a job. But he just flatters to deceive time and again. Even this season, I've seen him have a half decent game and think, maybe........... But NO. He'll soon be 27 and he is bang f**king average and is another who shouldn't be anywhere near the squad going forward. GET RID!
November 7, 20223 yr Had high hopes for this guy especially under Sarri but his moment has come and gone he should be shipped out in the summer. I really liked his silky smooth dribbling and how he glides across the pitch.

Other than that he's been no different to what we see today, but because he was a young age many thought he'd suddenly change tact.
