Who? Kenedy perhaps? Other than that who has a case, and who cares about Kenedy...

I can imagine some of the bigger names taking issue with the fans crediting Conte with the turn around from 10th to 1st so much ie. constantly singing his name after victories and even before matches had finished.

It struck me after we clinched the league at West Brom, the first thing I saw and heard were chants of Antonio. Something that happened on a regular basis throughout the sesson, even before the end of matches fans would sing it as well. I don't agree he doesn't deserve the credit for for turning things around but if you're one of the big name players maybe you're thinking, 'hold on a minute, we're the ones that have been playing, scoring goals and putting the performances in here. Why is he getting all the credit?'

We all know what player power is like these days. Would anyone put it past Costa for example of being this petty?

Certainly wouldn't put it past Costa. However I think something Conte has done well has been his command and earning of respect. Yes we do praise him as fans but that is because he did an unbelievable job with this team. You only have to look at the clear happiness now of the likes of Courtois, Hazard & Fabregas who all came under huge criticism and allegedly resented Mourinho, however now all three speak highly about the manager and those are the players you want to be happy. There's always going to be players on the fringe who are jealous that they're not playing a bigger part in the success, but I genuinely can't see much of that with this squad. Equally I trust Conte to axe anyone of this mentality regardless of their abilities as he showed last season that a strong squad mentality is the key to success, long may it continue with or without Costa.

Like a few have said, he is a big gun for hire, with the morals and ethics of a whore, why else would he of ditched his beloved Atleti in the first place, "Jog on diego, Jog on".....

People acting like Lukaku wasn't a cubt when he wanted to leave us now acting like he isn't acting like a c**t to Everton, he is an Everton player winking and saying he won't play for then anymore bla bla not as bad as Diego but people acting like JT's son is coming to play for us that he is such a breath of fresh air, he is a little f**king diva himself

Obviously I have no proof of anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if all of this just engineered by Costa to finally get his coveted move out of Chelsea. It seems he's been desperate to get it for at least a year now.

Absolutely. Those pre-season performances were laughable. Surprised so many gave him a pass.

Well if they were, then they need to grow up and stop acting like a bunch of spoilt little bitches.

I doubt this is the case though, i'm sure they are not fussed either way. Footballers get called stupid a lot, but i don't think they are stupid enough to think their fans don't appreciate what they have helped the club achieve.

But their names does get sung by fans, Diego more so than others. Plus, if that were the case, it's a bit rich when the season before last he was sh*t beyond belief. These same players almost got us into the relegation zone with Costa himself pestering Antonio to leave for Atleti since pre-season started.

If it was coming from Hazard, I may accept it but Diego of all people should not warrant that free pass.

I hope Costa at the very least apologizes to the team, fans, the club and Antonio for acting like a precious snowflake.

Conte's mistake too this but I half expected it from him when you see the manner in which he left Juve and his comments about them at the time

I don't see why this would be the case. It was the same in the past, if a manager had both success and charm our supporters adored him and were quite vocal about the fact. José, Robbie, Carlo, Guus, Luca, even Claudio... (and when finally they fail and crash, we can be equally ruthless)

Besides the manager usually only the real legends got such reception regularly. And come on, no one in our playing squad has the status of a JT, Lamps, Didier... In a few years some of them maybe, if they behave accordingly and do actually stick around long enough.

Tammy Abraham should at least make it to senior team. not necessarily first team.

Either him or Michy. Makes no sense to keep more young strikers in the squad, there are very few opportunities anyway as we barely have more than one on the pitch.

Found it a bit odd that for someone who wanted to leave this club for so long got what he wanted and is now making a fuss about it.

Yea but that's to do with teh fact no one wants him more than he has had a change of heart, unfortunately for him, there isn't a huge demand for an expensive striker outside the PL and we won't sell to our rivals, PSG got Aub, Monaco don't need him unless they sell mbappe, then maybe they are candidates, Spain neither Barca or Real would have him, Athleti on a ban, no one else wants to spend big or can offer CL, so it's basically Serie A, which is overflowing with strikers right now.

he thought he could walk back to athleti any time he wanted now that they have w**ked him off and china is a no go, he has given himself a dilemma, and us to be fair, because we have to sell him on the cheap or put up with his bollocks, such an avoidable situation with a bit of professionalism.

True nobody has that status but do they have the ego? I can see a few of the bigger names resenting how quickly we've taken to Conte

Thats what happens when the express try and write about football compounded by the fact that they are quoting an American analyst who probably covers lawnmower racing when not football (no offense).

Conte knows costa as a better player and he wont want rid of him for football (on the pitch) reasons,  he most likely was sick of the speculation and pissing about and wanted him out the dressing room, he is an influential player, and disruption can kill a team as we saw last season, interestingly he wants Fab gobe also, 2 of the alleged masterminds behind Mou's demise. I doubt very much Lukaku is even contes pick, he is not at all a conte  type player.

For me this sums up the football  situation:

Begovic told Sky Sports News HQ: "He's a top player and a great guy, someone who is very funny in the dressing room. It would be important for Chelsea to keep him and I hope the situation will resolve itself and they will have a good relationship going forward.

"He's already won two titles in his three seasons at Chelsea. These players don't come around that often, centre-forwards who have got everything. Chelsea will miss him very much if they lose him."

Anything beyond this is politics not football. Why would you replace a top player with an inferior player for twice the price.

Despite scoring 60 goals for us, he took a couple of months ( if not more) off every season. First season was due to niggling injuries, the last 2 seasons have been constantly attitude issues. I don't think that will change unless someone kicks some sense into his head, and I think all his potential suitors are well aware of that. Having said that, I wonder what he could achieve if he keeps his head straight for a full season.

It's your opinion that Lukaku is an inferior player. Another way to look at it is he scored more goals than Costa in an inferior team. He is PL proven and I would expect him to score more goals in a Chelsea shirt as long as if they have some creativity on the pitch. No Fabregas and Hazard would be a worry. I also expect Lukaku to be a better player at the age of 28 than Costa.

I personally think Chelsea fans overate Costa. European clubs could get Costa at a reduced price now but I doubt there will be much interest. Milan signed Silva. Does a club really want the baggage Costa brings and you don't even know he will back that up over a full season. Also there is no sell on fee now for a club.

Regarding Conte the problems starting in pre season last year and Madrid didnt sign Costa so we was stuck with him, Costa managed to get half as season out of him and now he should just f**k off.

I've said it numerous times before but anyone who downs tools halfway through a season when we're in 1st and look like we have a good chance to win it can f**k off I'll always respect his contribution but someone like azpi for me has been a far superior signing to costa so won't lose any sleep when he leaves just hope we can get a 20+ goal a season striker and hopefully give one/two of the young guns in the fa cup etc

I would take a forward who scores 15 goals but is a better all round player.  The amount of times Costa loses the ball or ruins the build up specially on important counter attacks which would lead to more goals anyway. There are better players out there who can score goals but be involved all round.

Not sure if this was posted but a rare insight into costas thoughts, it's easily to vilify a player who can't really respond because if language restrictions

To me this just shows him up more. Hardly learnt the language and look at Conte who has been here just a season, he has put in the effort to learn the language.

For someone who can't be arsed to learn English he still talks alot.
