August 16, 20169 yr He hit a wondergoal in the world cup one time... There's a 'This one time, at band camp' reference in there somewhere. . . . 'This one time, at columbia training camp' maybe? I would like James here, but only at the expense of more fringe players, Moses and Cuadrado maybe, though I'm still interested in seeing if Conte can get anything out of Cuadrado, given his good performances in pre season. We're in short supply of left footed players though, it would be nice to have Hazard and James able to alternate between playing wide and switching sides to play as inside forwards rather than wingers
August 16, 20169 yr Should go all out for him. Much better suited to a Conte side than Fabregas is, more versatile and a handful of years younger. He's MASSIVE commercially too which has got to be a consideration these days i'm afraid.
August 17, 20169 yr don't watch much of rodriguez, what are his strengths? He is just a brilliant attacking midfielder, can do just about everything. I'd say his best attribute is his technique when striking a ball whether it be a pass, cross or a shot. Would be a dream signing.
August 17, 20169 yr I think it would be a sign of we mean business if we are able to pull off this signing. There's no doubt he's a great player, not sure exactly what happened to the last 12 months, was he injured a lot? I doubt he will be happy just being the team, so it's likely either Oscar/Cesc plus the likes of Currado or Pedro will go.
August 17, 20169 yr Actually mate, the problem is your valuation of the 4 players mentioned.. 85mils for those 4 is ridiculously cheap and I wouldn't be happy in such business.. I have no problem exchanging 4 with 1 if i feel it is a good business.. mikel, cuad, moses, rlc, all them 4 for griezman for example.. Fair enough. But 3 of them are 28/29. And I doubt we can get more than 30mil pounds for cesc and oscar.
August 17, 20169 yr If we have to lose Cesc which I don't really want to happen I'd love to see this guy come in, he is quality.
August 17, 20169 yr Like him but would rather have Isco. True better to have him but I doubt they want to sell Isco.
August 17, 20169 yr Look if we are gonna spunk 70 million on 'Lukaku the lump', just spend it on this fabulous player, we need to make a statement of intent, so why not him.......!!
August 18, 20169 yr If we spend the money on James there is no way we get lukaku too. Not for the money quoted at least. I don't think this one happens but would be thrilled to see a swap of fabregas +cash for James.

August 18, 20169 yr Can't help but feel he'll have lumps kicked out of him in England and he won't get the time he needs to pick out his passes. He's a big lad though so it may just be something we need to accept in that it may take him a season to settle in the league.
August 18, 20169 yr I just don't think he fits our profile. Not even sure of his preferred spot. Is he a 10?
August 18, 20169 yr I can't think of a style of player we need less right now. We don't need a creative player than can pick out passes and score from outside the box? Anyways, this is not happening now. Straight from Zidan: "James is here, I am happy with how he played and he will be staying here. I will always respond in the same way to that, I'm tired of having to give a response. My stance is not going to change," said the French coach. http://www.managingmadrid.com/2016/8/17/12514882/zidane-discusses-cesc-rumors-and-james-future
August 18, 20169 yr We don't need a creative player than can pick out passes and score from outside the box? I don't see where he fits into a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-4. He's a talented player but I don't see how he fits with what I've seen of Conte's system so far. Would prefer Lukaku to James personally.
August 18, 20169 yr ofc zidane wants him to stay, the thing is not sure james himself and super agent/super c**t jorge mendes wants him to be a 65th minute substitute player
August 18, 20169 yr I can't think of a style of player we need less right now. He's head and shoulders above any AM we have other than Hazard by a country mile.
August 18, 20169 yr James isnt ideal in a 4-3-3, 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-4, we simply dont need a poor mans Juan Mata, James would spoil the balance of the team, cant see the club being stupid enough to make such a pointless signing!
August 18, 20169 yr we simply dont need a poor mans Juan Mata Huh? Wouldn't Mata be a poor man's James?
