Countless times I have seen him for Madrid and he just doesn't look that special.

He had a great World cup in 2014 but since then......

I just don't think he fits our profile. Not even sure of his preferred spot. Is he a 10?

One of the best number 10's in the world, unfortunately for him he doesn't get to play there often. 

James played on the right wing for Monaco and Porto a lot and was increible, surely he would be a massive upgrade on Willian. If not he could do Oscar's role with ease.

He's head and shoulders above any AM we have other than Hazard by a country mile.

 

But we're already overstock on attacking midfielders as it is. 

 

Two of Moses, Cuadrado, Kenedy and Pedro are likely to leave right now I don't think we time to ship out three of those players to accommodate a new signing. 

 

But even then we can't play James in his preferred position, you're just square peg, round holing it so why bother? 

 

Just makes no sense to me entertaining the idea of this sort of signing. 

Would hate to think Hazard will leave for RM next year and we'll bring in James as his replacement.... would prefer we go all in for Draxler/Ricardo Rodriguez. James has his moments but I don't think he's the type who will put in a shift over 90 minutes.

He was excellent for Madrid before Zidane took over. 

But can he do it in wet cold Wednesday night at Stoke? Spend the money, think we would benefit of a star signing and he is better than Oscar anyway.

He's played wide before as others have mentioned. He doesn't just play CAM.

Just as with Hazard has played second striker, CAM, inside left forward.

Quality is quality and it'll shine through.

Cuadrado seems to be on his way out. Kenedy won't get a look in if pre season is anything to go by. I wouldn't rule out the classic loan move for Moses either to be fair.

We'll have to agree to disagree but he would be a quality signing.

If Conte continues to go with Kante and Matic, he may not need to do that much defence work.

that's just 2016 highlights mate lol. there's one where he scores some fantastic goals outside the box. i haven't watched him much before and didn't think he was all that, but when you watch his compilations he does look like a quality little player and the sort of creative player we could do with. however, i dunno how true it is he will leave madrid so we will see.

Exact sort of signing we need this summer. A big name with loads of talent and potential who is a match winner. Without Hazard we sorely lack one compared to City and United (De Bruyne, Aguero, Silva for City and Pogba, Ibra, Martial and Mkhitaryan for United). Even Arsenal have a few more then we do (Ozil and Sanchez).

Can't see it happening myself though.
