June 17, 20179 yr Luis Enrique emerges as candidate if Chelsea are forced to lose Antonio Conte Edited June 17, 20179 yr by mojo
June 17, 20179 yr Remember when Conte was getting sacked last October, he turned up at the press conference and laughed, it's all a load of crap, has to be. Edited June 17, 20179 yr by Floyd25

June 17, 20179 yr My sources in the club tell me there are no issues and that Chelsea are willing to back the manager to the point of spending £200m+ on new recruits that were recommended by Conte directly Edited June 17, 20179 yr by PedroMendez
June 17, 20179 yr Didnt this originate from duncon castles? says everything you need to know as far as im concerned, as you were!
June 17, 20179 yr Now papers saying he's getting ready to sign a new deal, embarrassing from the press.
June 17, 20179 yr I think Castles was the first English journo to publish it. Seemed to come out of Italy first. The concerning bit is that reputable journos seemed to have confirmed a bit of an issue afterwards even if not to the extent of Conte quitting. I'd understand if the club were mad about the Costa text. It was a dumb thing to do. I'd also understand if Conte was concerned by the speed of signings. Others are moving and we will repeat 2015-16/2010-11 issues if we don't follow. We've known for a long time that Chelsea has its fair share of court intrigue and that isn't going to change. I just hope it doesn't bring us undone again as it has before.
June 18, 20179 yr Not sure if the Nike-deal is the reason of all the headlines? They say we don't want to reveal new signings in Adidas-kit but wait until 1st of July when Nike takes over. This has probably the reason of all the rumours Conte is going...

I'm sure it's more like we CAN'T reveal the new signings in Adidas kit. I wouldn't be surprised if Nike insisted that we do it that way. Besides, Conte is on holiday, so it's no wonder he's not being very active on the football front.
June 18, 20179 yr Antonio Conte is claiming he has been told by #Chelsea that he has to sell before he can buy players this summer. [Express] If true, this is terrible. Can see Conte walking away next year if our complicated and power hungry board keep interfering

June 18, 20179 yr I understand that this complies with FFP and such but surely we have freed up a ton of wages as well as the transfer fees of Oscar, Cuadrado etc plus the prize money would put us at least close to 150-200m-ish, doesn't it?

June 18, 20179 yr Only for Oscar and Bertrand we get 70mln. pounds. We did get 25mln. for Cuadrado. We get good money for Salah as well. 7.5mln. for Christian Atzu. 10mln. for Begovic. Almost done deal for Traore - 20mln. Thats more then 130mln. pounds only from seeling and we are not over yet. If thats true, then we are in big trouble and Conte days are numbered.

Yeah, i think it's bullsh*t. Just the media having nothing to report so they are making up reason's for why we haven't signed anyone yet. July 1st or a few days after will be when we start seeing confirmed signings. I think some of the deals are already done to be honest.
June 19, 20179 yr Reports are saying Conte is refusing to sign a new deal until players are signed. Bit of dangerous game that Conte is playing if it's true. He is demanding with his squad so makes sense that he demanding with the bird as well. It could in disaster though!

Isn't that what the club has been practising all along?

In the last six months we've sold/released: Terry, Begovic, Ivanovic, Mikel and Oscar. No one has been signed to replace any of them, the squad was topped up be recalling Ake and Kenedy from loan.
June 19, 20179 yr The press need to make their mind up. One minute they saying conte is disappointed by lack of signings, but in the next breath papers are reporting we're putting in bids and pursuing sandro, bakayoko and lukaku.
June 19, 20179 yr If it was anything to do with the Nike situation we would have ended the Adidas partnership 2 years and 1 month early (or how ever early we pulled the pin). It's got absolutely nothing to do with it.

They aren't going to give themselves 1 day to do the changeover. It makes way more sense to think it has to do with the very important sponsor than nothing at all.

It's got absolutely nothing to do with it. Theres every possibility there was a staged cessation clause in the contract, the 2 years early date would then be a set date. I doubt we could just end the contract with Adidas at any time.

Sport journos are such fake news outlets that any article needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Almost evryday their news changes to suit any given narrative.
