September 28, 20178 yr I love this man and would not swap him for anyone. It saddens me he will leave one day but let's strap in and enjoy the ride. Loved Mourinho for being Chelsea but he was an ass and his negative approach frustrating. We had 8 players in and around the Atleti box deep into injury time and our left wing back out by the right corner flag. Can you imagine Mourinho sanctioning that sort of go for ot football, yet Conte manages to also build well defensively unlike klippity klop. legend - to me already best manager we've ever had, and you feel like we're going to get even better.

I think its largely due to the discipline and confidence he instills in the players, he demands a high work ethic and its getting results -- the players are really buying into his philosophy. A lot of these guys like Hazard and Azpi are coming into their peak and having someone like Conte to work with must be brilliant because they understand he wants them to succeed and attain their potential. I absolutely love the guy too. One of the best managers we've had, if he wins us a CL and adds to his trophy haul, he might just eclipse Mourinho for me as Chelsea's best manager due to his likeability factor and easy going nature (when he's not on the touch line screaming). I don't know who'll replace him in a few years time but I'm not sure if we'll have another like Conte again
September 28, 20178 yr I think its clear that to keep him happy and make sure he stays, we have to build our new stadium in Italy.

September 28, 20178 yr it was refreshing to have a manager go away to a tough ground in champions league and not play on the defensive.
September 28, 20178 yr I know, I think A.Madrid expected us to be Chelsea last night but we weren’t anywhere near that. Completely bossed the game.

I miss Conte every day, and like me so many Juventus supporters. His concept of the group is the essence of the sport spirit. So I always watch Chelsea's match and you know I became a blues supporter (remaining supporter of Juventus, it's clear). In my heart it's impossible to replace Conte, his first season in Juventus, ended with the triumph in the lega A with only Pirlo and Vidal surrounded by normal players (Estigarribia, Deceglie, Pepe, Matri, Quagliarella, Padoin) against Milan of Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva, remain for me the sweetest remind.

Antonio Conte has to be the considered the best manager on the planet at the moment. You don't have to be a manager in Spain to be the best, but you do have to go to Spain and beat the Spanish clubs, then it cannot be doubted, he is the best.

His father was our supporters, all of his family, his first rookie footbal soccer was named something like Juvenilia ... He will die loving Juventus. But unfortunately I don't think he will return. At least for now and the imminent future. In Italy there's no culture of manager, but only of coach. He wants more. And I agree with him. I suffer, even because Allegri is a donkey, but I agree with him.

I never wanted Jose sacked, was actually very upset when we did sack him, it felt like we were destined for failure. But Conte is so much more a likable bloke, really respect him. We Chelsea fans are so conditioned to managers coming to Chelsea and proclaiming they want to stay here from decades only to be sacked months later, that it would be a welcome irony if the man to buck that trend is the one who insisted he was leaving all along.

Conte is a great manager, one of the best at present and the first season was also memorable because unexpected. I always support Conte at least until he does not come back to Italy. Having said that Conte's widows are a disgrace for Juve fan base unfortunately. Our fan base is the largest in Italy but too many do not support the shirt and they prefer to support single players and managers. Allegri does not play spectacular football all the time but is an excellent manager and games like those won against Real and Borussia in 2015 or Barca and Monaco this year have also been excellent. Saying that we play horrible football is just pure ignorant and untrue and shows very poor understanding of the game sorry. After the first year we saw quite a few bad games with Antonio too, especially in Europe btw. Going back to Antonio I think he is not a manager that can stay more than 2-3 years with one club because the intensity that he puts in his job is so high that he burns the candle from both ends and it is very hard to keep that type of intensity from the same group of people for very long. I would be surprised if he stayed on for another year but I cannot see him staying for over 3 years despite the fact that he clearly loves Chelsea Edited September 28, 20178 yr by B&Wlegends
September 28, 20178 yr I don't think Conte is staying for 5 years like other people are saying. His current contract ends in 2019 and he didn't sign an extension during the summer, just a pay rise if I'm correct. So I guess he plans next season to be his last. His wife/daughter prefer living in Italy. Man so gutted, I stopped watching football for 5 years or so due to busy schedules and personal stuff. Only got back into it recently because I had more free time to watch football and one thing that reminded me of football again was seeing a tweet related to Conte's press conference. I was like 'ohh so he's the new manager of chelsea' and after watching him I got interested in football again. I'll always be a bit biased towards him for that I guess, and I can't see any other manager who can ever replace him, in terms of personality, demeanour and the miracles he's worked because the club was at an all time low when he took over. I would be surprised if he stayed on for another year but I cannot see him staying for over 3 years despite the fact that he clearly loves Chelsea Good post. The part in bold is of particular interest to me, as it was my first instinct when I first paid attention to Conte during the Euros. Obviously at that point I knew he was coming to Chelsea so I paid extra attention. I felt it was too intense to sustain over a prolonged period. Conte micro-manages from the touchline, continually telling his players where to be and what to do, he doesn't let up for a second, and of course there is all that animation, that intense passion. We know from experience that Jose always falls down in his third season, and that's because the intensity he demands from his players tends to work wonders in the short term but can't last beyond a certain time. It's also I suspect because he only has one string to his bow, and because he can't change the message, he runs out of ways to motivate his players to run through brick walls, which is what they need to do to be successful under his methods. Conte I suspect is cleverer in that respect and may be able to last beyond two years but whether he can ever be a long-term manager at one club is certainly questionable. Having said that, the job Conte has done at Chelsea is remarkable. Last season was incredible, the change of formation, the winning streak, the coping with pressure, the rise in performance levels amongst all our players including some who were considered journeymen. He won the title with Pedro, Matic, Luiz, Alonso and Moses, which nobody could have forecast. Also the way he handled JT, the way he handled Fabregas, the way he phased out the deadwood. He showed excellent judgement, excellent man-management, excellent tactical awareness and of course he conducts himself impeccably, so much so that even opposition fans love him. We didn't have a single man sent off last season in the league, our behaviour on the field and off it was first rate. This season the walls were supposedly coming off and in that respect he has done better than Jose because he's been able to avert a crisis and turn it all around. He wasn't happy during the summer and rightly so in my opinion. He wanted players in earlier, understandably. He wanted upgrades at WB and didn't get them and possibly at CB too. How many first choice players did he get? Maybe one. How many players rebuffed us? Quite a few. Never mind, this guy has shown he's not reliant on big name signings. After the Burnley debacle the knives were out, it was looking grim. We went to Spurs and won and now we're on a run of eight games unbeaten in all competitions. We've won every one of our away games this season, including last night's superb performance. All the negative noise from the summer and the Costa saga could have affected a lesser man. He was under pressure but you'd never guess it, and don't forget this was largely without our star man, Hazard. Don't forget also the Burnley game was a complete injustice. The ref gave them everything. Stoke away, Atletico away, and City. A tough week. So far so good. Given the scheduling I think we'd all take a point against City, and if we do that would be a tough week very successfully negotiated in my book. I don't expect to win that one but then again I didn't expect to win last night. I thought a draw would be an amazing result last night. This guy continues to surprise. There's an old saying, "When the going gets tough the tough get going". This guy is as tough as they come. Not sure if he'll ever make a long-term manager but Simeone is similarly intense it occurs to me and he's been at Atletico a very long time, especially considering his club sacked managers for fun prior to his arrival. Conte probably doesn't want to stay at Chelsea beyond three years. Chelsea probably couldn't go that length of time without sacking their manager anyway. I tell you what though, if there were ever a manager you'd like to see buck the trend it's this guy. He really is something special.

About my words on Allegri, I don't know what kind of God you imagine to be for tell me i'm ignorant. Everyone has the right to have his opinion. It's true we played great matches even coached by Allegri, as we played bad matches with Conte. But I revenge I can say I find boring Allegri concept of soccer, as I love that of Antonio. It's my opinion and my way of loving sport, saying that an opinion and a way of living sport is ignorante is pure arrogance imho. Above all forza Juve e forza Chelsea!

I did not say you are ignorant, but that what you said is. Preferring one style of play to the other is perfectly fine with me and I actually happen to agree that the first year with Conte we played one of the most entertaining type of football ever helped by the fact that we did not play in Europe. Already from the second year while becoming more effective (way less draws than during first year) we did not manage to replicate the same quality and intensity once we had to play three competitions. An entirely different thing is to call our current manager, who btw has the best results so far in Juve history, a donkey or claiming we play horribly, that is both untrue and ignorant. It is not a question of opinion nor a personal insult it is just the way it is sorry. Sadly these days, it is the attitude of so many Juve fans who act and talk like spoiled know-it-all brats rather than fans for the club, that's the price to pay for so many years of good results apparently, people loose the sense of reality and do not appreciate what they got. I dislike and despise from the bottom of my heart this attitude that is the exact polar opposite of what Antonio rightly appreciated in English fans who support the club no matter what as long as players and manager give their all. Forza Juve and Chelsea indeed (at least until we do not meet :)) Edited September 29, 20178 yr by B&Wlegends
