Nah Pedro is not susended anymore I reckon is back to Eden up top with willian and Pedro flanking him. I doubt conte wanted to play 3-4-3 in this game but without morata or dzeko what can he do otherwise?

Morata may have a back injury yet a close friend has died at 26, he has been given some time off by Conte.

If that was a penalty on Salah for Liverpool yesterday even after VAR. Morata had every right to go down the other week and should never have been booked for diving. 

 

Salah has gone down like he’s been shot, he had no chance of getting the ball and it’s a slight tuck the same as Moratas.

I expected him to be inconsistent throughout the year, due to his lack of experience playing a complete season. 

He seems to have that "Torres" factor, as in he is a confidence striker.... He can be great, but he can also be so bad he would be lucky to get on the reserves of a National League side. 

Moratas last 4 games for us, penalty area heat map.

Not many touches on the right side of box, Michy scored his two goals yesterday from that area.

Morata needs to balance his game out, defenders already know he wont go with his left foot and loves the left side to attack from.

Prediction. 

This will be Morata's solitary season at Chelsea and we will sell him in the summer. 

I get the vibe that he's not overly enjoying himself here and we'll look to recoup as much of his fee as possible and we will sign another "big name" striker in the summer ourselves. 

If Conte is still here next season my guess would be someone like Ciro Immobile. 

I'd take Belotti if that was the case.

Can't help thinking Real Madrid will be sniffing around him in the summer. 

I think they'll try for Harry Kane but won't want to stump up the £200m it's gonna cost them because they're probably going to want to rebuild a couple of areas of their team.

Belotti is struggling this season, the only striker that could the job for us would be Icardi in my opinion.

I think the point @ForeverCarefree is making is that Morata himself is unhappy. As we’ve seen before with Crespo etc, if the players are unhappy they tend to go which IMO is fair enough if it’s for reasons out with our control. I would be disappointed to lose him though as I am a really big fan and think he can be a terrific centre forward for us given time. (Apologies if you weren’t referring to FC’s post)

Had that thought a week ago, and wanted us to get Aubameyang so he could have some competition. Can’t shake this feeling that he is mentally fragile and too comfortable as the front man. Madrid will shake up their squad in the summer, and if Spurs reject their offer for Kane we could have easily sold him back to them with Aubameyang as an insurance policy.

The official line at present is he has a back problem, but heard his head isn’t in the right place because he lost a friend.

No chance for Icardi. He's likely joining Real Madrid.

If Juventus & Real Madrid didn't have faith in him, why should we ?

We're talking about a player that's had the privilege of playing for Italy & Spain's biggest clubs. He blew his opportunity in earning a place as a main striker not once but twice.

We've given Morata the benefit of the doubt by making him Chelsea's main striker. We've seen how he performed over the past 6 months. What has he proven to us thus far ?

I don't have faith in him as Chelsea's main striker. At the same time, I'm not against keeping him either. For his level, he'd make for a solid back-up striker. Same way Michy was for Morata earlier this season.

The January Transfer market exists to rectify our mistakes (If we made any) from the summer transfer markets. The kind of strikers we've been linked with in January speaks volumes. Very embarrassing.

That outcry and desperation coming from London's biggest club. The hunt for a striker lol. Anyway, it's all over now. We've got Giroud and in my opinion he's our new main striker. Morata back to bench where he belongs.

Morata may yet improve now he has real competition and if not like you say he becomes the new reserve striker or moves on. I have some sympathy as it's his first EPL season and even Drogba used to fall over and roll all around the pitch at first.

Morata should just play behind striker not being one. He has great vision and passing not strong stance and ball keeping skills as Costa did. Fix that and give it some time and we are golden.

He's been back in training since Monday, so i would guess he will be back for Watford, to reclaim his place in the team before someone turns up to pinch it.

A trip up to Watford on a cold Monday night may break him.

But then again if you want a chance to score a goal then Watford is a good team to face, they won't completely park the bus. If you were a keen striker you would relish the chance. Lets see.

What is this buffoon still up to? Injured? No time for sulking, need him to start scoring again because goals are rare these days unless we score early then the floodgates tend to open. Any more blanks in front of goal will cost us with big teams coming up.
