February 22, 201610 yr There is a difference between slugging off the the fans and asking for more support for the team.Ok beg to differ, but when he slags of Chelsea fans and applauds palace fans, I personally found that offensive. But let's see how much his affection for us shows when he lords up his 'dream job' at 'the biggest club in the world' just my opinion. I loved the man at first but now he's gone I don't miss his bitchy sniping or embarrassing press conferences. Each to their own and all that.

He did stand up for the fans right after that game when they did give the team support. He did that as something that would help the team.I don't see him bitching about the fans who were behind him throughout. If he does, feel free to point it out to me in the future.

Ok as I've said I've moved on.All I'm interested in now is Chelsea's future, been there for over 50 yrs. thick and thin, and when they sing that old classic " where were you when you were sh.t " I was having my best time as a Chelsea fan.

One might say that being part of a family means you can be honest with one another. He was doing that - Palace create a brilliant home atmosphere and also seem to encourage young fans to get to games and we don't. He just echoed the thoughts of a lot of supporters didn't he?
February 22, 201610 yr He's no FSW by any means. I'm still praying United go for Giggs...unlikely as it is. I'd hate having to want to see Jose fail. In a way the complete lack of rumor surrounding who will take over makes me think they may be hoping LVG holds out and Giggs takes over at the end of the season or next. Doesn't seem like anyone else, aside from the odd Pochettino rumor, is on their list. Giggs is probably the favorite among their management and I don't think the fans or players would be against it. On the other hand it does seem like Jose is destined to be there and the lack of rumors about other managers just confirms he's set on it. I personally think he'll change some things if he were to get the job. Everything he does comes from the winning above all mentality and he can't change that. Things like press conferences, touchline antics and abrasiveness he can control and I think he'll have to reign those things in because some United legends simply don't want anything to do with him for these reasons. I'm anticipating a few underhanded and passive aggressive comments from him about our players, staff and fans if he manages there. I think it will be all too easy for him to throw something out like, 'It's nice to have vocal fan support for the players' or how he's 'happy to be at such a well run club' etc... February 23, 201610 yr Rumours from a Manchester based journalist that Fergie and Charlton don't want Jose. Personally I can't see that. After this season, they need him.
February 23, 201610 yr Not really a secret that Charlton wants no part of José Charlton has already been on record stating that many years ago. Fergie knows he is best choice but also knows what comes with it. i personally think its nailed on that he goes there in the summer but maybe they still trying to convince Charlton to accept it as a short term measure to get them back on top.
February 23, 201610 yr Supposedly Ferguson wants Giggs, despite being horribly unqualified to do so, to get the job, believing that if one of his former players is in charge the club board will be able to maintain influence over the company board.
February 23, 201610 yr Same here, it would be so funny. United would be absolutey stupid to not take Jose, at this moment, they need to get back up there and be back at the top otherwise they will be left behind. Giggs is not that man, Jose will take them to the top - if only for one or two seasons.
February 24, 201610 yr Don't forget Gary Nevile. If he could survive the Valencia gig, he could do it anywhere.
February 24, 201610 yr If anything, Gary Neville has made it more difficult for Giggs to get the job.
February 24, 201610 yr Guus has no pressure, he's not looking for his next job, he's not going to get sacked and if we finish in mid-table with a decent cup run then he's probably done his job. Lol. Because he isn't pressurized don't mean he's lax. Some are believers of a calmer work environment despite the pressure. Not to be mean to Mikel either, but I think that is EXACTLY the type of environment he'd love to be in. This is a guy that people say is a good pro, never complains even when he's out of the team for long stretches. If people think I'm wrong about that then fine, but everything I've heard about Mikel suggests he's a laid back guy who doesn't like to put too much pressure on himself. I imagine this might be his happiest 6 months in football ever Yes, good point. Could apply to Guus also. . Name one player who is satisfied with sitting on the bench. I can't name one and when Mikel says "more relaxed" then we also dont know what this actual means.I think some of you forgot how "grazy" Jose was this season. Complaining about refs all the time, criticizing players in plublic, being always in this bad mood and acting like he is super happy, etc. And in this one interview where he says "you have to create instability in your team". Because of that i can only assume and also Mikel said it with "(Guus) not getting in the players buisness" he has done mind games and what not with the players. Well, but now I'm also just speculating. Edited February 24, 201610 yr by Nevamind

Well, but now I'm also just speculating. What I took from the 'instability' comment was that you can't allow players to get complacent. They have to think that they're spot is in jeopardy and you do that by constantly improving the squad. We didn't do that last summer. Of course players are more comfortable now because there's no pressure or expectation on them. I know some people want to blame everything on Jose but the whole club failed this year, yet he's the one who pays the price. Mikel gets to go into matches like this weekends knowing the fans aren't expecting to win. I imagine that's a very relaxed way to approach games compared to last season when every game meant something.
February 25, 201610 yr Jose can't be the best we can get/have if we go by his last 3 months. As a manager your job is to have your team and staff respecting you. Clearly the players including JT lost that respect for Jose and I can bet that our whole medical team would side with eva on that saga. If he does utd he will need to change his ways to succeed. Wouldn't seeing him get the best out of mata, praising Utd's home support who are being entertained and being a respected non controversial loser annoy the s#it out of anyone in here??? Will just prove how he royally messed up with 16pts after 16 games, our worst start for decades.
February 25, 201610 yr It's also a massive job for Jose in that he needs to this right. People will start questioning his ability. If he does fail after 2/3 seasons, he will be known a journeyman.

Clearly the players including JT lost that respect for Jose and I can bet that our whole medical team would side with eva on that saga. I can see your point in that if you were to just look at the last 3 months in isolation then they wouldn't reflect well on him. But shouldn't he be judged on the entirety of his tenure, and shouldn't that time be put into context? I don't think it's quite fair to say players lost respect for Jose, especially not JT. In fact I think that's a bit of an insult to old Captain, Leader, Legend to say that but maybe you know something we don't.
February 25, 201610 yr Unfortunately he did significant damage to the club this time round and that leaves a sour taste in the mouth. He also tried to play (some of) the supporters like a violin near the end - cynical and unacceptable. Of course he had some self appointed spokespersons to assist. I never liked, or agreed with Wenger taking his moral higher ground stance on Jose but I do not wish to see him at the club ever again. Edited February 25, 201610 yr by EmeraldBlue

I never liked, or agreed with Wenger taking his moral higher ground stance on Jose but I do not wish to see him at the club ever again. I'm not sure he did significant damage to be honest. Was it tempestuous at the end? Yes but he still had the support of the fans and he also left as the reigning league champion. Maybe I'm naive but I think it's cynical to say he played us when many, many supporters had such a strong connection with him.
February 25, 201610 yr Significant damage to the weight bearing supports of the trophy cabinet. Significant damage to many livers too.
February 25, 201610 yr Some people seem to be suffering from collective amnesia here. Apart from the last few months, Jose's second stint with us produced better results and more consistency within the squad than we had seen in the past three seasons before that. Things went sour as a result of a collective failing by the whole club in the summer, but the club was too immature and gutless to stick by him in his hour of need. If Jose could not receive a chance to redeem himself, no one else has a hope in hell of surviving as manager when things go sour in the future under this administration.

We never looked like even coming close to winning the league after Carlo's first season. Jose put us back on the map. Selective memory indeed.
February 25, 201610 yr Mourinho quotes in the newspaper. "This is football, for me Chelsea is over, it's finished. I look forward to the future with more enthusiasm" What do people think? Edited February 25, 201610 yr by JMaher94
