November 16, 20169 yr He needs to get more game time somehow. If Costa is not 100%, I rather Michy plays this weekend. If there's one down side of being out of the EEL cup, it's fringe players won't get game time when the first 11 are doing so well

You just don't need as much plyers as you don't really need to rotate.
November 16, 20169 yr The situation is a reflection on how good costa has been, you don't drop the leading league goal scorer for the sake of it
November 16, 20169 yr There is something to be said about making a few changes every now and then though. Keeps you unpredictable.

November 16, 20169 yr Incredible how short sighted we are if we want our 2nd striker to go play out on loan. Costa is undroppable atm, although Bats should be coming on at the end of matches we already have wrapped up. Not that we need to save Costa's legs or anything but if only just to keep Bats sharpish for when we may need him.

November 17, 20169 yr Costa is still 1 card away from the suspension, my guess is Michy will start a league game in the next 2-3 weeks. He looked keen every time he got on the field, and he's still part of the Belgian squad, life is good for him. If Costa was below par, Michy would got a game or 2 already, says a lot about Costa's form this season.

There will be no rotating with him in next few games unless he is injured or suspended.

We play one up front and the main man is playing some of the best football of his career, we haven't been chasing games for a while so that means no need to throw him on to partner Costa. He will get some games in December and January.
November 17, 20169 yr To loan Michy would be insanity, no back up strikers apart from Solanke. Costa won't be able to go week to week banging them in for fun. Michy has to be patient work hard and take his chance when he is called upon. He did well in all of his games he played apart from West Ham in the league cup where he was against three tall defenders.
November 22, 20169 yr Batshuayi scored 2 yesterday for the "reserves" in a PL 2 game against Southampton which we won 3-2. The team included JT, Zouma, Fabregas, Van Ginkel and Solanke and was watched by Conte and the coaching staff. Bats obviously didn't do himself any harm by scoring 2 goals and from the highlights I saw Fabregas looked classy as you'd expect. JT and Zouma still looked rusty though.
November 23, 20169 yr Can't believe for a second there's any substance in Michy leaving, either on loan or permanently. I can't even see from his opinion why he'd want to, and I'm sure all these rumours won't be coming from him. Personally I don't understand the rush? Costa is undroppable, and I'm sure he's aware of this. He's young, we wouldn't have forked £33m for him to not play for us. He's a signing for the future and ultimately he will replace Diego in the next 2-3 years, as I can't see Costa's long long term future with us. The media are just bored this time of year and are looking for stories. Michy is fine and will get his chance, moving on...
November 23, 20169 yr The problem is in this system he literally can only replace Costa. Even if Costa isnt scoring, he works so hard and is such a focal point that you cant bring him off let alone drop him. Thats why he isnt getting many minutes from the bench, especially while we are winning. He wont be allowed to leave though.
November 24, 20169 yr Michy will get his chance and the club would be crazy to consider offloading him whether it be a loan or transfer move at this stage. Costa's had a ripping season, but Michy provides us with much-needed depth if Costa cannot play for whatever reason. Costa is only one injury or suspension away from us needing Michy to step up and play up front. The young lad just needs to be patient and keep persevering.

November 24, 20169 yr I like the idea of Michy backing up Costa for a couple years. I think he will be devastating once he matures a little and fine tunes his game. Diego is 28, so he will eventually start slowing down, which will give Michy a shot. Plus, with us being on pace for the CL next year, there will be more minutes to go around.
November 24, 20169 yr While every player naturally wants to play every week, it's worth noting he's learning his trade alongside one of the best strikers in the world. Watch him grow, and notice when he starts banging them in in a few seasons.
November 25, 20169 yr Watched the u23 game last night. unfortunately bar his two goals (that were very good) his overall play still leaves him short of being a first team starter. I was pretty disappointed actually. Not sure he works hard enough to be anywhere near a Conte team.

Football simply doesn't work like that. He scored a couple of goals, that's a strikers job.
December 15, 20169 yr Seems this guy is an Emenalo signing. It's incredible how he rarely gets game time with his quality even in matches we are winning and Costa is obviously tired. I can see Conte trying to bring a new striker this January or at the end of the season.
