This is doing my head in now. I'm not asking him to start at all. I am just saying he should be involved more. Not play 0mins. Everyone get that now.

Don't get your knickers in a twist mate, you just didn't make it clear what you were moaning about, to clarify he has come on as much as would be expected without pulling off an inform striker and changing the formation when not necessary, he also got a start against Leicester,  Costa is playing fantastic, that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Big win for so many reasons...needed to get season back on track before the international break...relieves pressure that was starting to build on conte...didn't see the gamesomlooking forward to seeing highlights later to see how the formation worked out

Just arguing for fun now. He has played 53mina in 7 games. Yeah he must be really enjoying his premier league experience.

Oh well, tough luck really, that's just the way it goes sometimes. He's not going to get many minutes with Costa bang in form.

I thought we were great second half. Probably the best half of football this season.

Not sure about moses at wing back though, maybe azpiliucueta is too defensive to play that position long term though. I would love to see florenzi there, if we favour this formation going forward.

Hopefully we win these next 2 home games and all will be risy again lol

definition of heart of the midfield today by kante, in offense and in defense

Seems some people just have to find a negative in any win.

I haven't logged in for quite some time, although I do lurk.

Have to say though, reading through this thread from start to finish as an example, plenty of our supporters are pretty embarrassing.

Some people are general p****s but that's life

Lol come on mate, bit sour isn't it, we were facing a "crisis" last week, so we change formation, finally  drop Ivan which in it's self was better than sex, then we win and keep a clean sheet and while the rest of us are metaphorically high fiving each other you decide to have a whinge about our back up striker not displacing the PL's top scorer this season?

Conte should get the kudos for this one. Seems we focuses on tight defending before opening up in the second half - one of our best this season - and wrapping it up easily in the end. Would have subbed Hazard off earlier and was nice to see Matic's long legs back at their disrupting best.

Was only making a comment about a player and not the result. Maybe should of made it in the players thread. Wasn't being negative about the result.

Anyway get fed up of reading someone moan about people being negative when they just moan about people being negative or just like to chip in with there comments. I shouldn't of bitten.

Took us a while to break them down but we did it in the end. Clean sheet and 3 points will be great for squad morale after the last few weeks. I thought Alonso and Moses did very well and they've definitely shown they deserve to be in the first team. It's always nice to go into the international break on the back of a win. Onwards and upwards from this point hopefully. KTBFFH

Sorry to be  downer but while pleased with the 3 points, not as much so with the performance.  It was a Hull side who threatened very little, so while the clean sheet is fantastic I don't know if the defence really has improved much. Will need sterner tests to tell but nice nt to concede  The team still lacks a spark going forward and the goals were great individual finishes (and one needing a lucky bounce to the shooter) rather than good team attacking.  I also worry at what seems to be great hesitancy by Conte to change it up until very late.  Maybe I'm just missing part of his genius but it's grown to be a concern of mine.

Anyways happy with the 3 points and some of the players performances.  Was hoping to see Chabolah get on sooner but glad he got on at all........and I f**king hate international football breaks.

I think that's the end of cesc and Oscar, and we can't say they have not been given chances over the years to prove themselves

Thats bollocks. Fabregas is still our best midfielder and Conte has to find a way to get him into the line-up if he wants to get the best out of our team.

Fabregas is the only midfielder that can open up a defense with his passing. No one else in our team can do that.

It would also be unfair to say Fabregas hasn´t played well for us. I do agree about Oscar though. I used to like him a lot but he simply isn´t good enough to be a regular starter for us.

Lots of very positive things today, even if Hull were inept.

The manager deserves massive credit, for changing the system, for dropping Ivanovic, for taking Willian off the wing (as I've been imploring for ages), for putting natural wide players on the flanks, and for allowing Kante to play his natural game rather than making him stay stationed in front of the back four. Basically he put everyone in their natural position, and more than anything, he earned his money at half-time, because the way we came out for the second-half was very impressive. Now all we have to do is start like that from the first minute. We seem to start games very lackadaisically recently.

A lot of the conjecture on the way we lined up. For me it was a 3421, and this gave us total domination of the middle of the park, particularly after the opening spell. Hull just found themselves totally outnumbered.

Courtois made a couple of saves and his handling was good. Must be on drugs. The defence kept a clean sheet. Must be on drugs. Cahill managed to go the whole game without a mistake. He was definitely on drugs. It will be interesting to see what happens when Zouma and JT are back. If we stick with a back 3 it's safe to assume JT will take Cahill's place on the left of that 3, but will Dave keep out Zouma and Cahill on the right, seeing as he's not a natural centre-back? Also, if Luiz gets injured or suspended would Conte still entertain ideas of playing a back 3? We will see.

Kante was allowed to venture much further forward, running up and down, which he likes to do, and which he excels at. This system really suited him in particular. If we want to get the best out of him we must allow him to get about the pitch. He often found himself further forward than Matic, which hasn't happened till now.

Moses was excellent, our best player, so much better than Willian on the flank, really driving at opponents and making things happen. He's not the best player in terms of quality but having him on the flank was a breath of fresh air. Alonso on the other flank? Takes up good positions, good at crossing, doesn't strike me as a top player or someone who will really impose himself on games, like Moses did today. He did a job and it was good to see a left-footer on the left instead of Dave. The signings of him and Luiz allow us to play 3 at the back with wing-backs and that was obviously what Conte had in mind when we signed him. Personally, I'd rather see Kenedy playing the role but there you go. We've loaned him and there's nothing you can do about it.

For me, second-half, Willian looked far more comfortable in this new role, and far more effective. He really isn't a right winger. Hazard showed flashes of brilliance and Costa was excellent, as he has been all season. Fourth game on the trot he's cut out the nonsense as well which is good to see. Conte has obviously had a word with him and it's working, we are getting the best out of him.

More worries for Fabregas I suppose but if we play like that nobody can complain. Second-half they sat deep and tried to contain us and we managed to cut through them time and time again without Fabregas. I'm also glad Conte seems to have seen through Oscar. I don't think he can have any complaints about missing out. We looked a lot better balanced today but it's obviously early days with this formation.

We had two good shouts for a pen, the second a stonewall one, we had many chances to score in that second-half and we really could have run up a cricket score. That was more like it Chelsea. Well done.

Lots of energy and pressing and desire and determination as well, and that all comes from the manager. If the pressure was on Conte today, I thought he stood up to the task well, and that bodes well for the future. He was brave and he stood strong, and that transmitted itself to his players. We looked very together.

My thoughts would be that Dave would play the right wing back. I'm surprised that he didn't play that role today.

Ideally, of everyone is fit I'd like to see a Dave, Zouma, Luiz, Terry, Alonso defence. However, I do think that Luiz is very important for that formation in being able to play the ball from the back so who knows what would happen if he gets injured.

Hazard is 5'7 willian 5'10 only looks an inch taller than hazard, diego is 6'2 looks same height as Oscar who is 5'10/5'11, have they got the heights wrong or is this a all round deceptive camera angle on the video?

Same here & I thought Brana could be slotted in today as the 3rd CB - maybe Don Antonio didn't like what he saw from Brana - well one thing stood out in this match - 5 in the back = clean sheet - ok the opp wasn't up to snuff, but still the result made me smile today :)

Please with the result and the second half performance, probably Conte was concerned with not conceding in the first half and getting players used to playing a new system. It,s ok playing a new formation in training  but match days are different, they seemed to grow in the game the longer it went on.

Still don,t understand Conte,s obsession with Pedro. For me to lightweight for the EPL.Even as a sub.
