Tiémoué Bakayoko

I agree. I am all for giving a player time, but i seen nothing special in Bakayoko before we signed him and i'm not seeing it now either. Do players usually recover from being this poor? Players go through tough times, lose a bit of form and take a bit of time to get used to a new league, but they at least show something that gives you a bit of hope, i'm not seeing this from Bakayoko.

I honestly think his stock will only fall with another season here. We could loan him out, but he was struggled in his 1st season here, and also at Monaco, so I'm not sure a year on loan somewhere would be good for him.

Ideally we use him to sign someone like sergej, or weigl. I haven't seen Ndombele play @the special one, he looks very good on youtube, great technique, powerful, good pace, good passer.

Only other option would be to give him a 2 year loan either in the prem, Spain, or Gernany, and see if he can start to look like a player that will be actually useful for us.

Bakayoko, playing at his best, is a type of player that the team needs. Unfortunately he has only shown sporadic glimpses of what he is capable of. Fans getting on his case is no excuse but it doesn't help in any way.

By what spectrum? I'm sure Steve Sidwell has had a great game in his lifetime and if he played like that all his life he could have had a great career here.

I haven't been sold on Bakayoko except for his Arsenal performance and he only came on for 20 minutes. Spurs we were absolutely overrun and United he was incredibly sloppy had it not been for the Morata goal he would have been scapegoated.

He hasn't been good enough and the fact that he's finally been dropped we might actually have a chance of salvaging a decent season. Fans have a right to jump on him with criticism when he's put in awful performances.

He hasn't been dropped but suspended then injured. Up until that point he was undroppable, might go back that way.

I'm very sceptical about that injury, seems awfully convenient.

It's not just the lack of technical skills, like passing, shooting and tackling. DOn't get me wrong, he's awful at those, but he has no footballing brain whatsoever. He doesn't track runs, he never seems to know where he should be, he has no awareness of who is around him, so every time someone passes to him with a player close by, he loses it. He's the worst player I've seen play for Chelsea in my time supporting the club.

Absolutely no place for him at the club now after that. Minimum action is a season long loan somewhere next year to try and build his reputation up a bit and then flog him on the quiet (and we all agree never to mention his name again, alright? )

I have to look at his games when playing at Monaco.  He must have shown his sh*teness when there, you just cannot hide that no matter how good the other players are who are playing with you.

If you look back at around the time we were first linked with him on this thread, many on here gave him a big thumbs down. One wonders who actually thought he was worth the 40m we spunked on him. He sums up last years transfer dealings, woeful.

There was a lot of posters, myself included who didn't really see a player that was going to  e an improvement on what we have. However I honestly didn't think he would be this poor. He has no vision, no awareness of what is happening around him. It can't all be down to a lack of confidence.

There's quite a few interesting players in France like Ndombele, Fabinho, Seri, Malcom, Fekir. I'd be trying to use him as makeweight for one of those players from the only place where his stock might still be somewhat high.

I don't see enough qualities in his technical ability to hope that he will come good eventually.

I just don't think Baka suits a midfield two, I think he is more a player suited to a 4-4-2, useful for carrying the ball forward.

Us asking him to play in a midfield two is just asking for trouble as he just does not posses so many technical skills and begs the question who recommended him for Conte's side?

I hate to be right in this situation, he hasn't once shown he's capable.

People bring up the United game like it was a positive, there was nothing positive about him losing the ball 6 times in a good position in a big game, winning that game doesn't take that away. He has no confidence whatsoever and I can't even see a player in there, if he could at least track back and show that he's a physical player.. But he doesn't even look like a physical player. What space is he covering? Where is he making tackles and man marking players out of the game?

Awful.. I hope Conte doesn't keep persisting with him again like he did before he got sent off.

Then what does he suit exactly? We shouldn't need to play to his strengths, he's there to fill a big void that we have next to Kante. Right now it's Kante on his own, Baka can't play in a 3 man midfield now he can't play in a two. I actually think he's better in a two-man midfield than he is a three.

I must say Pawson did us a great favour by giving Baka a yellow card just before halftime - it forced Conte’s hand to take him off to start the second half

shouldn't start another game this season, its doing no one any favours especially himself, looks scared and incapable of doing anything positive. the amount of times he loses the ball because of a bad first touch and for lack of awareness of players around him is embarrassing to watch. thank god we have Kante

I'm still banking on it being the lack of pre season being the problem. Hopefully he's better next season.

That's wishful thinking but it's all we can do really.

I don't think he'll ever come good but I'm willing to give it another season even if it's a new manager (which will probably be better for him) because playing him every game is just not working.

The last thing I want to do next season is bank on Bakayoko becoming good, we can still give him his chance but he has to work for it and prove it first, that's his only door he'll get. Otherwise, we'll end up with another disappointing season, and the same could be said with Morata.

Thought he was going to be a good signing. Board clearly thought we were signing the next Yaya Toure.

Have no idea what's happened to him. Looks devoid of confidence that it's painful to watch.

Honestly didn't think he was going to struggle like this.

Don't know if he's just been shoved in too early as we don't have too many options. It might've been better for him to be eased into the side.

I think that was Conte's preferred plan: to keep Matic and use Bakayoko as an occasional understudy.

Our transfer business and Drinkwater's injury forced Conte's hand.

Either way, it's not a good situation for the team or player.

Bakayoko was sh*t but we dominated the first half. Second half with Fabregas Leicester dominated us. Neither of them is good enough to partner Kante in a midfield 2.
