Tiémoué Bakayoko

As to the fans chanting, as an American i cannot make out half of what is sung due to the strong English accent of the fans for the most part, and so for someone like BAkayoko for whom English is not their first language he likely has no idea what they are saying.

should see the stuff he gets tweeted. i am sure he acknowledges what is said, but for so called "fans" to continue berating him and sh*tting on him as a player new to the league and the club, his view of our fanbase has probably been negatively affected. it must affect a player on the field when your every move is being critiqued. he needs to be able to play with confidence and expression, rather than within himself.

As others have said probably the worst display by a Chelsea player for.. well....  ever !!
He's been truly dreadful lately, and I DO blame Conte for continually playing him over Fabregas.
Why are we playing TWO defensive midfielders against lower opposition, all that negative play just gives them confidence. We should be going after them from the off, that would on most occasions lead to a goal and most would crumble.
I just dont get Conte's negativity, I really don't.

I've had time to cool off after last night.

Nope still angry - absolute dumpster fire.

Play Ampadu there next time if we're going with a DM. It CANNOT be worse than what Bakayoko put out last night.

terrible perfomance, but both of hose yellow cards are utter diabolical decisions.

Ref did us a favor by sending him off to be honest.

Second one is iffy but his poor touch makes him look more guilty - plus he's a clumbsy bugger at the best of times.

Like I said, dumpster fire performance.

I feel bad for him. Confidence absolutely shattered and it will take some determination to recover from yesterday's performance. I think he needed more time to hone his skills and strengths at Monaco or somewhere else before making a move to a big club.

it is so easy to be critical but can you begin to imagine what it must be like to go out into a stadium and play in front of world cameras whilst having a crisis of confidence, must be frightening. I feel sorry for him

The 90k a week in wages will probably help him.

I don't feel sorry for him, I feel sorry for us having spent a fortune on him whilst he can't controll a football.

I feel so much sympathy for him, such a hard life.

makes you wonder if conte is being pushed to play him

My thoughts exactly, though according to some ITKs on here, he was a Conte signing and is continuously starting him against the board's wishes. That just doesn't make any sense to me.

Who knows what's really going on anyway...

How?

KDB you could see he had quality, Salah was raw and poor for us, but had a few decent attributes. Bakayoko has nothing.

Sorry, @Zeta I agree about Bakayoko, but the bold bit is either mis-remembering or misty-coloured wishful thinking. (that's me being pleasant!)  Go back and look at the threads in this forum about hims and the matches that he played in.  That was what people could "see" at the time.

Yeah, that's a fair point, although we did sign Salah & De Bruyne, Pogba was youth for United. Much more often than not youth players leave and go elsewhere.

That's true enough!

Bakayoko's all actions vs. Watford yesterday

For the life of me i can't work out how he was sent off. He was sh*te but the first 'yellow' was him falling over. Even the ref didn't think anything of it until the Watford player got in his ear. The second 'yellow' probably was a booking but it was still only his first actual foul of the game. Surprised more questions weren't raised about the ref after this match.

Well some of us could. I created the original thread for him in rumours before we'd even really been linked with him. At Genk you could see he had good accuracy with long range passes, a good, powerful shot from outside the box, i really thought he could be our new lampard. Didn't get many chances under jose, but showed in Germany what he could do and that he was only going to improve.

But i feel like we've had this discussion about 7 times.

Why are people raving about Chalobah, RLC, Ake or Abraham as if they would have made a big difference? You'd think they're tearing the league apart in their respective clubs. They aren't. They're decent young talents who are yet to prove themselves on a big stage and demonstrate they belong in a top club. That's why they aren't playing for a top six club but rather compete for a starting spot at teams like Crystal Palace and Swansea.

You could just as easily crush a young player's confidence by throwing him into our first team when he's not ready. A few crap outings, a few Bakayokoesque errors that lead to opponents scoring and the team dropping points and they may never get a chance again at that level, at least at Chelsea.

There's literally not a single player that came through the youth ranks during Abramovich's reign and left the club during that period who I think is good enough at the moment to break into our first eleven and, most importantly, improve it. Whether it's due to poor scouting or some other reason, I don't know, but it's a fact. So let's stop with this 'play youth and everything will be fine' malarkey.

That doesn't mean there aren't some good signs on the horizon. Christensen is looking good and Ampadu is certainly very assured and competent for his age. Even if only those two can become part of the club's future, I'd call it a good start.

I bet nobody's wanting to be in his position at the moment, all these critics are correct but they aren't going to help him become better. I think we all done more than enough, now it's only depends on Conte. Let's all remember he's our player and we should show some support. He is professional and I'm sure that he knows that he has to ignore everything around and focus on the team, but I'm sure it still hurts when your team's fans shouting to f**k off to you.

Difficult situation, but now it depends only on Conte. He's the coach and he has to improve or make a decision about him, fans sent their signal already, now let's wait for the results.
