February 6, 20188 yr As to the fans chanting, as an American i cannot make out half of what is sung due to the strong English accent of the fans for the most part, and so for someone like BAkayoko for whom English is not their first language he likely has no idea what they are saying.

I often have the same problem as a non-native speaker, but probably someone around Baka will be "thoughtful" enough to explain it to him.
February 6, 20188 yr I felt so sorry for him as he left the pitch. The look he gave the away fans, fearful and sheepish. He just seems out of his depth at the moment. I honestly think he will come good, I hope he does anyway Edited February 6, 20188 yr by lovemuscle144 grammar
February 6, 20188 yr I don't buy that the fans abused Baka when they were supportive even at 4-1 down. Surely they are aiming at either the referee, player who went down like he was shot or Watford altogether. He also applauded the fans as he was coming off, sure he might not understand the chants but I think any European would understand 'you're f**king sh*t'

I always did wonder whether Robert Huth and Christian Fuchs secretly thought that the Leicester fans were booing them whenever they got on the ball.

Though whoever scouted him and recommended him should be fired. However what cannot be excused is laziness, not tracking runs, and not seeming to care what's going on. I keep having second thoughts on sacking Conte, shall we back the man like City did Pep last season and give him what he wants. But then it hits me, the same man who is constantly playing Bakayoko despite bad performance after bad performance. The same man who chased after Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch in the transfer window. It’s hard to be confident when he’s making these bogus decisions lately. Edited February 6, 20188 yr by Slojo

I doubt anyone in the world expected Pogba to become as good as he is today, he went to Juve with no pressure and developed. Props to Conte on that, but he's also made some horrendous signings & decisions that are very questionable. I don't think Conte knows what he's doing right now as a manager, as a person he's most likely looking at the possibilities of getting a payout or staying on board at the club until the end of the season. But we've been on a terrible patch since 2018 started and it's only getting worse and worse, one more loss and I would bet my house he's sacked.
February 6, 20188 yr Every club is going to have bad signings and good ones. The fact is they have to cut their losses at some point and realize when they've mad a bad signing. Who would have thought bringing Moses back and signing someone like Alonso (cough cough Kante too) would have helped us so much last season?
February 6, 20188 yr Well, that's stating the obvious, but success would genuinely come from those who make more good signings than bad ones and we haven't been doing that as of late, that's why we will continue to slump. What Conte did last season was fantastic, but the man who got it all right last season is getting it all wrong this season. And football is fickle, it's competitive, you move on. You don't win the Champions League and forever remain the Champions of Europe, someone else wins it next year, you have to keep winning it to prove you're the best. We can't rely on past glories when the present isn't showing any promise, I certainly understand the concept of backing the manager through bad times, we should have done that with Mourinho. But we aren't going to do it here, we may as well get a replacement sorted as quick as we can, or just simply delay the inevitable and do more damage to our top 4 chances.

February 6, 20188 yr KDB you could see he had quality, Salah was raw and poor for us, but had a few decent attributes. Bakayoko has nothing.
February 6, 20188 yr the club should have kept Matic and he should have been a back up and slowly eased him into the league like City are doing with Bernardo Silva you have to feel for him, directly put into the spotlight while the manager has no other good options to take the pressure off him lets hope Drinkwater starts firing

However, we should have kept Chalobah and either not signed Bakayoko, or as you say, eased him in over a period of time.

He had been average at best for us since that game against Burnley in the 2014-15 season. He also wanted to leave. I would have liked to see us keep Chalobah too, but he clearly wanted to leave for more playing time elsewhere. Could we have given some sort of assurances about more playing time? We don't really know what was said to him but Conte did say at the time that he would have liked Chalobah to stay. At this point I would say that Ampadu looks like a better prospect than Chalobah and would like to see him get a chance.

Fully agree, whenever i see Utd he looks average and i thought it was good money.

Much more often than not youth players leave and go elsewhere.
February 6, 20188 yr I don't think the Matic sale has come back to haunt us, only bias United fans are coming out with that tripe. He's not a good enough player, the only issue was we replaced him with worse players.

Pogba was a ridiculously gifted talented young footballer who never got a fair chance at ManU. SAF was just an idiot for playing Rafael on the midfield against Blackburn, which was the reason why Pogba left them in the first place.

I wouldn't say SAF was being an idiot, it was more pride on his part, you either get in line or you're gone, no matter who you are. Like he did with Stam and all the others who tried to undermine the gaffer. Look at Pogba now, he's dancing and dabbing in the changing rooms on video while his team is nearly 20 points behind the league leaders.
