Correct. Did it make it right though? At what point did Liverpool FC, the rest of football on the whole, the papers and media lobby the FA on our behalf as to the hopeless position we were being put under?

Not at all, that's what I mean it was ridiculous, they couldn't play on the same day as Hillsborough so we had to play a fixture 48 hours later. In the space of 8 days we played Liverpool, Spurs & Barcelona.

But what the scousers want the scousers get.

Seeing clips of last night's game on the news this morning, there were two marginal but vital offside calls that went in Liverpool's favour. The first was whether Salah was offside in the build up to the first goal. The second was whether Sane was offside before City put the ball in the net near the end of the game.

I wonder what impact VAR would have had on that result.

Add to that the cast iron penalty when Sterling was brought down. Liverpool deserved their win but the definitely had the key decisions go their way last night.

I have to admit I like watching Liverpool these days though detest the club and fans. Coming from just outside Manchester myself, I have no love at all for City so caught in predicament as to wether I want Saint Pep or the Scousers to win. That said it would be nice to have 'that memorable night in Manchester when Liverpool lost a three goal lead'

It's nice to see Klopp giving youth a real chance.

Trent Alexander Arnold was the man of the match, in my opinion, great performance with a lot of confidence and his "COME ON " shout amazed me, that's what we missing in our team.

Dominic Solanke coming as the second substitution, almost assisting the 4th goal.

English teams are highly overrated imo. There's no way, RM or Barça would concede that much goals against liverpool and not even against city !!! Trust me, UEFA wants that fcuking Clasico since 2012 and time's running out for both Messi and Ronaldo. This year is probably the last year where both Barça and RM are at their utmost best ! You could bet your damn mortgage that they'll face each other in the very final of the UCL this year !!! Whoever they face in the semis ...

Yeah meanwhile people here are moaning about AC.

Also wow. An almost assist. We really missing out.

Wouldn't really say we're missing out "an almost assist", but we do missing playing our youth. There were games when we even really needed " an almost assist".

Solanke comes on with 20 minutes to go.

Conte would never have done that.

That's because Solanke isn't one of our players, @Davey Baby  Keep up FFS, or is the dementia stepping it up a bit?

He got slated against Palace but Klopp stuck with him, if that was any Chelsea manager he would of been dropped, I like that about Klopp.

Youth? I would be overjoyed if our manager gave oppurtunities to multi million buys aka palmeiri, zappacosta. Too much to ask from him. The guy can barely make a sub.

klopp doesn't have the pressure to win anything on him unlike our managers. if roman decided we could go a season or two without challenging, then i am sure it would be a lot easier to integrate youth. i do feel there's a few youngsters in the current crop who need to stay and play with the first team though.

maybe it's just sour grapes but the Daily Telegraph has a headline today referring to Liverpool as "European Heavyweights" - they may have been 40 years ago but not now. This constant fawning over Liverpool in the press and media that really bugs me.

I don't know, we were inches away from scoring quite a few goals against Barcelona. We had more clear chances than they did and we hit the bar / post 4 or 5 times. We beat their defence many times, we just didn't finish the chances.

I'm fearing the worst now, so I'm starting a media blackout early, just to be on the safe side. Can't be hearing about the Scousers becoming "Champions of Europe Elect"!

If the worst does happen, I'll be getting my football news directly from the Official web site and here for the foreseeable!

You're actually right ... But who knows, "luck" might be in Barça's favour this year. Que sera, sera !

Everyone's talking like City are already out ... But we all know they're capable of thrashing those mongs at the Emptyhiad. Plus, a wee bit of help from the ref could do it for the sh*ttyzens !

City spanked 'Pool 5-0 at the start of the year and only just lost 4-3 in the league at Anfield. Pep certainly still has the chance to go through. For footballs sake i hope they do.

The thing is City didn't get an away goal and Liverpool will score, it's just inevitable.

If City got even 1 away goal there was always a chance but no matter how many goals Liverpool concede they'll score enough to go through, it's definitely Liverpool's round now.

wasn't that because the game went down to 10 men early on? also, looks like liverpool's defence has improved with the inclusion of van dijk.

Got the feeling one of the Spanish teams will not make it to the final.
