Tino Anjorin... looks so much like Kenedy on the pitch it's scary... even has his head just forward of his shoulders giving him a leaning look the way kenedy does. Kid can play

Tino Anjorin does look good tonight. I don’t follow the youth much these days so I hadn’t heard of him before.

Anjorin just scored a pretty fantastic goal.  Agreed, he looks to be a player.

Good to see Rudiger back tonight

 

Just saw the first 5 mins of the match and the commentators were going on about Anjorin and what an exciting prospect he is. He’s a big unit and only 17.

How’d  the  game finish?

Heard Anjorin's dad on a podcast last week. Very interesting insight, and he seems to be determined to make here. Pity he is another central midfielder, he has some strong competition from the academy ahead of him in mount, rlc, and gilmour. 

wouldnt be suprised if he got a cameo at the end of the season.

And he's not even 18 till November.  Promising 

Rudiger playing all 90 looks promising, could fully expect him to start against Sheffield and probably getting minutes against Norwich too.

It wasn’t, sounds like he strained his groin a little and they brought him off as a precaution.  Knee is all good.

That was my thought. After a long time out they didn't want to take any risks, especially at 3-0 up.

FFS please leave him out completely until he's 100% fit I don't want him to be rushed back every minute just to be injured again we just have to stick together until he's fully fit. Continue with three at the back

If we continue with three at the back, then presumably someone from the academy will make the bench to provide the defensive cover ... Guehi perhaps ?

He was spotted training with the 1st team group today, so this is likely.

I think i'd be starting Tomori and Christensen against Valanecia and Liverpool if we have a 4 at the back, Zouma is getting an awful lot of stick, some of it warranted, some of it not, but I just don't think he has the composure or ball playing ability to play in a back 4 with the style we are looking to play. It's a shame because he's a pretty decent physical player, but he's not a fantastic footballer, which just doesn't seem to cut it anymore at the top clubs, you have to have everything. 

Can't Dave play in a three with Tomori and Christensen? Can Kante or Reece James play right MF?

If only Luiz had let us know he was f*cking off before we loaned Ampadu.

Saw a stray comment at the end of an article somewhere that Rudiger has just returned to full training with the squad so should be back soon.

Wouldnt have made a difference to Ethan I don't think, it was Tomori who's immediate future at the club was saved by David's decision.

You are probably right.

At this point in time I think Ampadu is better than Tomori. How the club deal with that I don't know. Maybe time will help but for me Ampadu has quality and shows leadership skills. Frank will favour Tomori but he's made some real cock ups lately. I think he would be dropped if Christensen was fit.

For me Rudiger and Zouma are our best CBs but given games I think Ampadu pushes them and Christensen is back up. Tomori needs to shape up or face going out on loan next season. I'm being hard on Christensen there but I'm not convinced he has the strength to compete at top level. He is premiership quality but maybe midtable.

The good thing for Ampadu is that he can comfortably step in to midfield too. I can see him being good cover for Jorginho in the long run.
