Danny Drinkwater

Featured Replies

Danny Drinkwater transfer request went in Monday. #cfc currently nowhere near #lcfc valuation of around £40m. Could be an awkward one..

Conte wants an English core supposedly, but Drinkwater, Barkley, etc... would be an English bench. They are not good enough to force their way into the first team. I expect we'll panic and pay the 40m Leicester want, as they were willing to do for Oxlade, but it'll be way too much and he'll be on the bench most of the season.

Thats the first time Ive ever heard someone call Xhaka a ballet dancer

A  few pirouettes, a misplaced pass then their heads drop and, instead of trying to remedy their mistakes, they sink to the floor like a couple of Dying Swans. And they're BOTH in the starting line up. Still, they're Wenger's problem so I don't care.

I think he would definitely be a good addition. I'm afraid the reason for the £40m prices being quoted for the asking price is because of the grossly inflated market especially for English players. The question is how bad do we want him? The fact that we let Chalobah go for the ridiculous fee of £5m really grates me.

How many times: Chalobah wanted a guaranteed starting position !

I think it may be the price that we let hi go for that gets up our noses. England international, HG quota, promising potential. It just doesn't equate with the numbers being quoted for what is frankly dross in this market.

I dont mind paying 40M for Drinkwater. We need an english base in our locker room and is only 27 years old. it is our fault that the price is so high when we should have bidded for him earlier in the window. FAILING TO PLAN IS PLANNING TO FAIL. All our transfers have been to replace outgoing players none to improve the team. Bakayoko for Matic , Morata for Costa, Rudiger for Zouma, Christensen for Terry. While forgetting that we havent replaced OSCAR MIKEL IVANOVIC AND REMY .. BCOZ I HONESTLY DONT COUNT HIM AS A CHELSEA PLAYER.   it seems to me our board are setting Conte up

Drinkwater is one of those players you'd take on a free, however paying 40m is ridiculous. Looked lost last year without Kante. Mad thinking how players like Matuidi and Tolisso have gone for similar prices or less to what Drinkwater is allegedly valued at.

The foxes do not have to sell and I don't believe we will go to 40mill. I think this one will not go through now. Think leaves us with only llorente as the likely signing.

No he didn't, where do people get this nonsense from. I see it said all the time, but only by people who would never have watched Leicester regularly. I know you want to project that Kante did it all by himself, but he didn't ok. They complimented each other brilliantly.

He was the only player whose form didn't drop off a cliff post title win. It was only from the time he picked up a hip flexor injury that his form dropped off, he was being managed through the rest of the season with it because he was still our best midfielder, even with one working leg. Hence him not being allowed to join up with England despite the call ups.

Sky Sports sources say Chelsea's biggest bid so far for Danny Drinkwater is £23m. #CFC #LCFC

Not convinced that we'll get him if we're low balling at £23m.

They have no need to sell him, so they won't accept a low offer. The club are just wasting their time, like they have with Sandro, Stones, Koudibbliythingy, etc...

Hardly lowballing. 40m is taking the piss (insert another water pun here)

A left back is the big one.

Luiz can be used in midfield.

Azpi and even Willian should be able to cover for Moses on the right.

But that would still leave squad short in numbers.

I think Liorente, Drinkwater and a fullback will eventually be signed.

I would hate to see Mahrez go to United if there's anything in that one.
