Little birds saying Luiz is dropped. About time we see Christensen.

I'm fine with that if it means a change in formation, but if we are sticking with 3 at the back then surely it should be Cahill that misses out.

perhaps he needs to get his head straight; he's beginning to lose his composure at the back lately, but he is also one of the few players we have that can produce a goal out of nothing or a sublime free kick

Luiz is over reacting to failings of his fellow players by trying to do everything on the pitch. That is his biggest problem. Christensen surely wont make that mistake.

I think Luiz and Conte are at odds right now, wouldn't be surprised if Conte gives him the "Costa Treatment" if it gets worse.
Clearly didn't like being substituted against Roma, perhaps a falling out?

Did we play that against Athletico or was that 352?

Think so, but I can see us being much more defensive today, it'll just come down to how our defence holds up having been poor recently, and whether or not we can be clinical and take the chances if and when they come

Cahill brought on because of Lukaku's height?

I wouldn't mind Drinkwater sub for Cesc if we have the lead. He's definitely more solid defensively.

Luiz hasn't been great this season, but if any CB was going to be dropped, i thought it would be Cahill. We have looked very uncomfortable moving the ball out of defence with this formation this season and Cahill is one of those players that has struggled the most. Honestly, if Conte is going to drop Luiz, then i think Cahill should be dropped too. I know Rudiger messed up for one of the goals midweek, but he has probably been our most consistent defend and i would rather he started with Christensen and Azpilicueta, or change things altogether and go with a back 4 again.

The midfield looks healthier with Kante back in it though, we really need a good performance from Fabregas too. If we start seeing Fabregas pushed deep and start seeing players run by him then we are going to really struggle today.

Agree he’s been poor. Has lost the discipline in his positioning that he had last year.

To the tune of Can't Take My Eyes Off You:
? N'Golooooo Kante, because Baka is sh*te
N'Golo Kante, because Cesc is too light
N'Gole Kante...oh how we missed youuuu ?

Cahill is excellent header of the ball but I agree he is awful with ball in his feet.

Cahill a better defender than Luiz at the moment. Luiz stronger at playing the ball out of defence but I think Conte wants to defend first. Cahill also attacks set pieces better at both ends of the pitch.

hopefully three in midfield will allow Fab to create his magic.

True, but winning headers is only one part of his job today. If we are going to get anything out this then we are going to need those defenders to move the ball out of defence with confidence. If we start panicking with United closing us down high up the pitch, then winning headers is going to be the least of our problems.
