July 30, 20187 yr Saw a comment on Twitter along the lines of the birth of his children is about one of the only things he hasn't missed since being at Chelsea and it really tickled me.
July 30, 20187 yr Today's rumour is that Morata would be used in part exchange plus €55m to Juventus for the transfer of Rugani and Higuain to Chelsea. That's extremely unlikely I think. A move to AC Milan would probably suit him more but they're now apparently the front runners to sign Higuain so who knows. Apparently Juventus are giving us priority in the negotiations because our window closes before Italy's and if we can't agree a deal then they'll look to offload Higuain to AC.
July 30, 20187 yr We seem to forget he's a £70m, Champions League finalist striker. We are quick to throw him under the Torres bus but in reality this time next year we could very well be thinking of him as we do Costa.
July 30, 20187 yr He would do well to play as hard as he did in the build up to Pedro’s goal against Inter, all the time. We would have a great player if he did. Not sure that he will, but for those 10 seconds or so, he was a boss.

IMHO he can - remember when Morata first came on for Chelsea last season, he started off wonderfully - IMHO it was that match vs the gooners at the beginning of the year where he lost his confidence - also Don Antonio didn't instill any confidence either with his squabbles with the board & he did shake up the strikeforce by shipping off Bats & bringing on Giroud

That's why he should be doing SO much more than he's done in a Chelsea shirt. Not got close to the required level yet.

July 31, 20187 yr I can imagine it's very hard for his wife in particular having twins and then being away from family. You can see why he would like to play in Italy. That said, with Higuain out of the picture I can see him staying. Unless we make a late move for Icardi's buyout clause there isn't a realistic option out there.
August 1, 20187 yr I wouldn't be suprised to see Sarri play Willian-Hazard-Pedro as our attacking three, if Morata dosen't perform. Sarri did something simillar at Napoli, when he moved Mertens up as a striker, with great succsess. It also worked under Conte when he tried it, I remember two games that we won with 3+ goals.

Did we not try the false nine against citeh and get our pants pulled down? I’d rather we stayed away from that formation, particularly if it’s Hazard who plays the 9.
August 1, 20187 yr False 9 seemed to work against bad teams but against better you need that strikers instinct
August 1, 20187 yr The false 9 stuff was horrid under Conte because we still played like we had presence up front when we clearly didn't. Sarri will most likely not do that. Mertens tore it up as a striker under him because the system suited him.

Although i don't like the idea of Hazard as a false 9 we lost to City because of us playing a 9-0-1 formation and expecting Hazard to work magic. Under Sarri he'd have much more support and would likely work better. Still want to see Eden as a 10 or at LW though.

Yes, Conte had an ultra defensive tactic for that game that killed of any chance for our front three to shine. Fabregas and Drinkwater in a midfield two are probably the worst picks you can make as well. I would like to see a false 9 with Sarris tactics though, with more movements behind the oposition defence from our front three, more support from midfield and out wide.
August 1, 20187 yr It's not looking good is it. Should have had a hatrick in the first half. Fluffed his lines every time. We go again...
August 1, 20187 yr But.... but..... give him more chances! He deserves another season! He cost us CL football last season missing sitters after sitters and will do so again. We cant afford to rely on bambi on ice pretty boys like Morata who puts in more effort into styling his hair than learning how to shoot. Absolutely dreadful showing no improvement. We will be back here end of next season hopefully these deniers who support him still are happy when we miss out on top 4 and are again the lowest scoring team in the top 6. Thank god Sarri is the coach not the fans! Michy will be given a chance and he is a lethal finisher. Should start ahead of Morata. Conte's hold the ball up in that traditional big centre forward nonsense is gone now Sarri can improve his off the ball movement and Michy can be great. Edited August 1, 20187 yr by zes
August 1, 20187 yr He... he’s not very good is he? There isn’t even a hint of competency about him right now and just looks a hindrance out on the pitch. We really need to try and address our striking options whether that be Higuain, Lewandowski, Vardy I don’t know but as things stand I don’t think we’ve got a striker good enough to match up to those playing at rivals for the title/top 4.
