Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

Maurizio Sarri will arrive in London tomorrow to sign his contract with Chelsea.

Gianfranco Zola will also arrive in London to join the former Napoli manager’s technical staff (CalcioMercato)

You would think that he would already be in London with how much waiting he has had to do!

What waiting? It’s only been 48 hours!

Has he been officially fired?

No and I’ve grown increasingly wary of trusting these ‘expert’ sources. But with JT, Fabregas & Musonda posting tributes to him, I think it’s safe to say, this is a done thing, I think it’ll be announced when the Sarri deal is 100% done.

Why does it always happen at Chelsea?

Wnen we hired Conte, United hired Mourinho, City Guardiola, Klopp already been at Liverpool for a year, and despite winning the premier league and FA Cup in two seasons he is sacked. While Mourinho spends over 400m on players and he still hasn’t won the league or FA Cup.

Im happy to see the back of Conte after his attitude last season but it really is embarrassing how we always come to this situation. I have no doubt we’ll end up sacking Sarri in 2 or 3 years time. A never ending vicious cycle

The club will probably sack Sarri in 3 years but he will finally change the philosophy of the club which is very important.

For a couple years until they hire a new guy. Who knows if Sarri even makes it to year 3

I try and remain relatively positive when a new manager arrives given our history over the last 15 years or so.... my positivity towards our managers therefore lasts about 2 years :proud:....but this appointment is rather head scratching TBH.  As coach and or manager  Sarri has hardly the best CV to look at when applying for a job at one of the top 10 clubs in the world, given other names that are floating around in the 'out of work managers playground' or those looking to move up.   Admittedly I have not watched enough of Napoli last season, or any season for that matter to form an opinion as to whether they, coached by Sarri, played exciting attacking football or not; however it appears that a nod and a wink together with comments from Pep in regards to last season's encounters with City may have tipped the balance; well I mean when you look at it even Brendan, who knows the EPL, been here before, has more trophies than Sarri and also allows his teams to play exciting football wasn't even mentioned as a possible candidate (not that I would want him here with those gleaming pearly whites), its just the fact that Sarri seems such a strange appointment; I mean even the geezer from Barca would surely fitted the bill over Sarri......so why Sarri?  anyone hazard a guess?

I hope Sarri does not end up like big Phil.....all hype and no substance.   Still, I remain optimistic and will wait with baited breath to see some exciting football :PopcornSmileys:; it will also be interesting to see how the squad shapes up over the next few weeks.

Exactly.

The people wringing their hands over Sarri not having won anything are also people moaning about the lack of managerial stability at the club. So they should know we probably won't have to "endure" Sarri for longer than 2 years, when another manager will be appointed. There always is one available, money talks.

I'm just happy Sarri apparently is a smoker, not this healthy living nonsense :laugh2:

The club are normally pretty good at hiring managers and have rarely got it wrong in the Roman era. Only Scolari and AVB would be considered flops - every other manager has won trophies or got us close (Even Avram!).

I am secpital if managers who play “beautiful football” but don’t win trophies. Hopefully it will be different with Sarri and the fact that he is highly regarded will push him into the next level.

Maurizio Sarri is now free to fly to London today, with a compensation deal finally being struck with Napoli. Jorginho will also join.

Sarri will sign a 2-year deal with an option for a third, on a salary of around €6.4m gross per season (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Probably in 48 hours!!

This situation is just getting more ridiculous each passing day it seems like.
First we had Conte lead the team for 7-8 training sessions over 4 days, then everyone confirms he’s been sacked including current players and JT but still no official statement from the club and as of right now we have no head coach to take care of today’s training sessions.

It’s something you could see some semi-professional lower league side do but it’s incredibly that it’s happening at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Please note that Sarri produced beautiful game respectively to what was the first Naples: horrible.

In Naples, journalists have exalted the good game to hide the failed victories.
At European level, then, bad repetition figures, even in the Europa League.

Finally, note that Guardiola exalts the opponents he has already defeated, so as to bring even greater glory to himself.

Nor have the vast majority of the posters in here*** who having been telling us all about how he's a "defensive" manage or an "attacking" manager or likes to play out from the back or Bakayoko wouldn't be able to cope with "Sarriball" or blah, or blah, or blah.

We do have a sh*t load of youtube football experts in here

*** that most definitely includes me.

Dont know how his teams play, just know he achieved incredible points numbers with Napoli.

Also read he doesn't really rotate players so could be an interesting season.

1) Don't listen to the Sarri's denigrators. They say only fools.

2) It takes time. Forget the friendly matches and the community shield. Also the starting in Premeir could be difficult for the defensive phase. That's a cultural revolution.

Winning thorugh the game needs time. It's not the shortest way but the one that gives more satisfaction.

Let's fly the drones on Cobham ! Come on Chelsea !
