Martin Tyler sounds gutted...the fact Sky included carragher as part of their coverage just to provide Liverpool view on this match says how they hoped it would go...funnily enough not heard much from carragher this half...

Embarrassing wasn't it, Tyler us such a bellend. But it's hilarious how quiet Carragher went, just sitting seething as he watches the trophy disappear.... Lovely.

What a very pleasant evenings football without touching a ball !

if we can’t go on and beat this Utd team though will be bloody frustrating

What have you seen from Chelsea away from home lately to make you think we will? I'm going on Sunday in hope rather than expectation

Us, Utd and Arsenal are all in transition with new managers.

That’s one way of looking at it. Another way is that us and Arsenal are relatively skint now and can’t compete for the best players and whilst United can still splash the cash, they’re showing the same inability to spend any amount of cash on a half decent player. Maybe we are all transitioning, but toward long term mediocrity.

Another massive difference between City and the others is that our better players are continually rumoured or expected to be off elsewhere, whereas nobody ever mentions DeBruyne being wanted by Real or Barca. Hazard, DeGea, Erikson and the likes are always being linked with moving on to better things.

Lets wait and see the mood when City have five barely contested back to back titles.

From the Sky Sports Website. Looks like Gary Neville has been on the wacky baccy.

NEVILLE: UTD NOT OUT OF TOP FOUR RACE

"Manchester United have to build on what they've achieved here tonight. They have at least put in a shift.

"There's a huge game here on Sunday against Chelsea, which could still land Man United into the top four."

More them than us 9 loses in 11 or something like that. We have nothing to lose hope we go for it

Why aren’t we allowed a deluded ex-player spouting bollocks about Chelsea left right and centre at Sky?

Haven’t heard a peep out of Carjacker since City have scored.

I noticed he sounded deflated after the first goal then I never heard another peep out of him.

and in Italy today - Lazio ultras managing to find time during their visit to Milano for the Coppa semifinal to unfurl a "Honor to Benito Mussolini" banner accompanied by Fascist chants and salutes a few blocks from our old flat (and even closer to the location where the man in question was strung up).

The closet thing you are going to get is Craig Burley & he seems to hate Chelsea

Fred is United's Bakayoko, great on scouting reports but shocking in real. What I love about the United pundits is when Jose played 5 defenders, it's parking the Bus and NOT United way. When Ole did it again today, it's good defending and quick counter attacks. It's hard to tell if they were serious .

United will play better on Sunday, don't think they lose 3 in a row too many times, we need to get better to beat them. Arsenal let us back in, but just like last weekend it's all for nothing if we can't get the 3 points on Sunday. Look back at the easy points we dropped this season, we should have never been in this position chasing after a CL spot with 3 games to go.

I wish we did tbh, I would love Lampard or Terry absolutely nailing the Chelsea board and FIFA for the transfer ban on a Sky Segment. Telling Sarri to f**king rotate months ago.

City still have to go away to the Burnley, which is a potential banana skin, given how they just park the bus, waste time and kick everyone. City not out of the woods yet, but that was a huge hurdle overcame last night.

The ink is barely dry on Solskjær’s 3 year contract and the United board and probably already questioning if they've made the right decision.

The problems at United run so much deeper than Mourinho and Jose knew it.

Glad player power isn't just something our guys can be accused of!

I think so as well, I don't think Mourinho was the heart of the issue at all. But I also think Mourinho was the wrong choice for the club, I think his football is very outdated now and I'll be very surprised if he can ever replicate his success elsewhere in the same fashion as he did at Chelsea & Inter. Maybe that's fickle of me to say but I just think football has evolved quite a lot and Mourinho lacks that power in the dressing room to make players perform to their best.

Pogba is an easy scapegoat but there's no smoke without fire, I think it's obvious Pogba is definitely one of those players who isn't giving it his all, his agent is always going public and flirting with other clubs, Pogba seems to share his views. I mean was it last season when United were 16 points behind City and he and Lingaard posted a video of them dancing in the dressing room? That's kind of the mentality those core players have at United.

PFA Team of the Year announced.

I think Hazard can consider himself unlucky not to be in there ahead of Mane.

Not sure how Pogba has made that team. He had a good two month purple patch but has generally underwhelmed for a lot of the season, surely Erikson could/should have been ahead of him?

Other than Pogba who presumably got in on name recognition, I think those are fairly valid selections. Agree that Hazard should be in there though; I probably would have squeezed him in instead of Pogba. Teams of the Year have never been about formation balance...

A few of those names have to be nailed-on: Robertson, Van Dijk, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva, Sterling and Aguero have all been fantastic. Laporte has on the whole also been very good; goalkeeper was presumably a tossup between him and Allison (personally I would have gone for the latter).

Plenty of competition for right-back: Wan-Bissaka, Doherty, Pereira, Alexander-Arnold. His missing so many games would have led me to opt for one of the others, although I can certainly see why he was selected: 8 assists in 24 starts (as well as being part of the best defence in the league) is a superb record.
