He's talking bollocks and he knows it. I wouldn't give up a single one of our FA Cups or League Cups for a top 4 finish. He sounds like Wenger when he tried to convince people that 4th place was like winning a trophy.

Making excuses and being disrespectful to the fans, but who gives a sh*t, it’s only spurs.

Was about to post exactly the same @Scott Harris - give me an actual trophy any day.   Financially a top four might be important but the thrill of actually winning something is far, far better.  And I can never understand mid table prem sides who don't go for it.  Ditto top four finishers who make the CL only to go half arsed into into, and actually f**king rest players to "concentrate" on the league.  Yes, I'm looking at you Liverpool - when you didn't put a strong team out against Real Madrid because you were playing us at the weekend!

4th place doesn't even guarantee CL footy,....Spuds already know this. :laugh2:

Imagine this, Arsenal finish 3rd in the league, Tottenham finish 4th, United finish 6th and win the Champions League and we finish 5th and win the Europa League.......it would be like 2012 all over again. It would be us, United, City, Liverpool and Arsenal in the Champions League and Tottenham would miss out

I don’t think it works like that anymore, the PL would get two extra spots and the likes of Carrierbag FC miss out.

I think 5 is the max any country can have compete in the Champions League isn't it? So if an English club was to win the Champions League and Europa League, and they both missed out on the top 4, 4th place would get relegated to the Europa League.

“We are going to create a debate that to win a trophy is going to help the club,” he said. “I don’t agree with that. That only builds your ego. In reality the most important thing is being consistently in the top four and playing in the Champions League. That is going to help the club to achieve the last step." -Poch

All about managing expectations

That cheered up a bleak Monday morning :happy001:

Well then let’s go with your plan!

So winning trophies only builds your ego? Dear god, what the hell is he talking about the simpleton. Taking that to its ultimate then, winning games doesnt matter as it only builds egos, playing consistently is all that matters.

Does consistantly rubbish count too?

Yes, the tie of the round and guessing it will be on the Sunday as it sits between the Europa matches.

Feb is looking majorly busy, 2 matches against City, Utd in the FA Cup. 2 Europa legs and finished off by Spurs at home

We can beat United we know what they will be doing using the pace Infront nullify that and we blunt them

Not sure TBH, if United sit deep with three fast players up front it could be touch and go.

Certainly an interesting prospect.

The draw is set up for City to reach yet another Cup Final....they have no opposition left now as its either us or Utd to meet them in the final given the dross that's left; this must be one of the weakest 5th rounds I can remember with only 3 decent teams left in it and two of them are playing each other.

They have been fortunate yet just the same when you go away it is not a foregone conclusion, last season they lost away to Wigan in round 5.

Sihtty must have won the lottery or something ... Burton albion in the semis of the LC, facing Schalke (12th in the bundesliga) in the UCL RO16 and now either Boro or Newport County in the FA 5th round (which looks indeed extremely poor this year with only 5 PL teams so far and a maximum of 7 potentially) ! And that does not stop there since I can see Sihtty coming back in the league and taking the 1st place from dippers after dippers' UCL RO16 games vs Bayern ! Still, we will be able to take the LC from them hopefully :Connie_threaten:
