Never expected much today but we don’t look very sharp at all. Worrying this close to the season!

Going to be a long, long season. Shame seeing a great team reduced to a team of also rans. Luiz, fabregas way past it. Morata has no spine.  A back. 4 doesn’t suit these  players at all. Maybe Barkley will work out. He at least looks stung enough. And to be fair to Pedro, he worked really hard. 

We were not in this game, caballero the only player from CFC on the pitch today who could even get close to getting in the citeh side. 

Can't see that shower of sh*t even making top 10.

Not one player stood out today, but I'd say Alonso was probably the weakest link. 

The guys need to grit their teeth now and keep working. Up the Blues!

Predictable score line, this will be a transitional season, though we needed to act quicker in the market. Sarri will need new personal after this season, there is no excuse from the board. I’m confident we will get better and I’m not overeacting after this result, but Sarri can be the best coach in the world, some of the personal we have aren’t up to scratch. The board need to give him time and actually back him, if they don’t show ambition, then I’ll panic.

I hpe you didn't forget when I say 'Communty Shield will be a disaster". It was largely predictable: Sarri needs time.

We look yards off the pace, key areas not addressed in the window. Sarri will have a big job on this season if we are to challenge for the top four. There is a big Kante sized hole in midfield and we must not lose Hazard. 

Some players are poor tecnhically to play in this system: Alonso, Barkley and Morata for example.

We’ll be fine. 0-2 against City after Sarri has only had 3 weeks and Haz/Kante are still missing isn’t anything to start panicking about. Expect a few months of struggles, but we’ll come good.

You can say Morata had no support today but he was making no runs and as usual falling over everytime someone breathes near him, how we miss Costa bullying defences.

We looked very sharp against Inter and Arsenal. We just need the time to implement ideas so they become second nature. City are the best team in England and this is the strongest team they could have put out which didn't include KDB and Silva. 

Huge was difference between City and us last season and huge it still seems to be. I can't name anyone making a positive picture of himself today or maybe Caballero. Our striker situations worries me. Morata has no selfconfidence at all and this Abraham fellow was If possible even worse. On top If those two we have Giroud and Bats. So mayb our first choice striker will be Giroud like in the end of last season.

Dont care about this result. 

 

I do care about deadwood in this team. We cant afford passengers who jog on the pitch. Willian, jogging, fabregas cant press and cant run, morata weak as ever, alonso is hilarious to watch and has been for a while. Forget bakayoko and drinkwater. We need players like Hamsik at Napoli I still believe in Barkley but today he was poor. He needs to step up. Poor transfer windows are part to blame.

It could have something to do with a midweek game in Dublin vs Arsenal, then having a couple days to train for this game. The players are still getting up to fitness. Majority of the players on that field never went to the WC, so they have added fitness to improve upon. Players coming back from WC are adapting to a new system. It is a clusterf**k at the moment with it being a WC year. Once we have our full squad back, we will be in a much better place.

Has had 3 weeks to implement his style only, and he clearly has not got the squad for it yet.

 

But i think we all know we will sign no one by the deadline so this is our squad until January.  Fabregas, Luiz, Pedro i would not start v Huddersfield

I reckon we will sign two and three will go out on loan this week.

Here's a fun fact. 

Having already assembled great depth in the best attacking talent in the league City and went and signed Mahrez for £60m.

We've just extended 31-year old Pedro for another year.

The key word here is ambition.

The result doesn't concern me, the performance does though. I just don't know what positives we can take away from that performance. I know things take a while to click, but the last thing we need is to start the season as bad as we did last time.
