Huddersfield V Chelsea (PL) Sat 11th Aug 15:00 UK

So Bats and Zouma have gone out on loan. I think that means Abraham will be around with Giroud and Morata.

Suspect Morata will start today. Let's hope he remembers that he's supposed to be a decent striker.

Looking forward to this game and the season, think it will be a tight game. Hazard to score a penalty and we win 2:0. I'm excited about the midfield, we have plenty of options there compare to last season.

Game day!!!!! Ahh feels great to say that.

I feel it will be important for us to score in the first 20-30 minutes, otherwise it might become problematic when Huddersfield start thinking they can salvage a draw/win.

----------------------Kepa

Azpi--Christensen--Luiz--Alonso

--------------------Jorginho

---------Kante-------------Barkley

---Willian-----Morata-------Hudson-Odoi

No chance.

I thought Pedro looked ok in a couple of games in pre-season so I'd give him the nod on the right.  I'm expecting something similar to this.

Kepa
Azpi - Luiz - Rudiger - Alonso
Jorginho
Kante - Barkley
Pedro - Morata - CHO

Rudiger with Luiz in central defense, Alonso and Dave either side, Kepa in goal, our midfield trio of excellence in midfield, Hazard Giroud and Willian upfront. We need to win this one. Start off with 3 points. and lay down a marker. COME ON YOU BLUES !!!

I like this team, I just wonder if it might work better like this:

Kepa
Azpi - Luiz - Rudiger - Alonso
Kante
Jorginho- Barkley
Pedro - Morata - CHO

I think Kante will have more discipline to drop back when Luiz gets the urge to prove he is the embodiment of the spirit of Jairzinho and bomb off down the pitch.

Expect to see Kante push forward more this season under Sarri "up up up", especially in these kid of games, away from home more forward space to attack.

Must say Kennedy is looking the part for Newcastle tonight. In another season he might be quite the player.

Remind me: did we loan him again or sell him?

I actually don't mind what the score is today. I obviously hope we don't lose, but we're still in that transition stage so can't guarantee anything. I do feel like we'll put on a great performance today and win convincely though, but no matter what happens people need to be patient and not have too high of expectations so early in the season.

No chance. Meltdown incoming if we're not battering them within 20 minutes.

Yeah, he's made a couple of really nice, direct runs.  Skinned a couple of Spurs' players, so that's always nice!

If I remember right, man city struggled a bit in their first season under pep at the start. Man city were transitioning from a more offensive style too, so not as much work to do as us.
