February 17, 20206 yr Author Different keeper didn't make any difference really, still concede from pretty much the only shots on target.
February 17, 20206 yr Could soon be back on the pitch by the looks of it.Caballero did nothing wrong tonight to be fair. Couldn't get near either goal

There’s a lovely green Peter Bonetti banner in The Shed, I reckon an OAP dementia ridden Cat could do a better job at the minute!

The bald bloke in a kebab shop at 3am on Saturday with sauce all over his shirt, he’d probably make a better keeper than Kepa.

February 17, 20206 yr Yeah Caballero did nothing wrong, but he's not getting any younger and we need to decide on Kepa's future in a few months time, so we need to make him or break him between now and then. Unless Frank has already decided he's not good enough, in which case Frank could stick with Caballero until May.

February 17, 20206 yr Its almost as if its wasn't the Keeper that was the problem and the fact that our defence has more holes in it that the net. You could go out a get any keeper but we will still have the same problem if the fundamentals of defending isn't fixed. Edited February 17, 20206 yr by Brutos
February 18, 20206 yr I only saw the first goal a couple of times, but looked like Caballero didn't even dive as the ball float past him. He's either didn't see it ( which is impossible), or he's just too slow and too old to even make a move. It wasn't a great header, you'd expect most GK get down to it and lay a hand to it. I'm not saying Kepa definitely saves it, but at least I'd expect him to get down and lay a hand on it, and more likely that not that weak shot would have been kept out. Lampard has made his point, if Kepa has stepped up in training, no brainer to bring him back next game and beyond. Edited February 18, 20206 yr by icecoolguy22
February 18, 20206 yr Studies have shown that the problem is the fact that 1 Willy is bald and the other one has an afro, the universe is just contradicting itself in this crazy paradox so unless one of them puts a wig or the other one shaves his hair there shall not be peace.

Is that the answer to our leaky defence??

Problem isn’t even the defence, it’s the suicidal tactics and sticking a DLP infront of it.

February 18, 20206 yr I am hoping that Kepa reacts positively to being dropped and fights for his place in the team. Either way I suspect Frank is under pressure to restore him to the starting lineup. Even if the club decides to replace him in the summer they will want to maximize his value by ensuring he is playing regularly.
February 18, 20206 yr That's two games in a row now where Kepa has had zero impact on the game, which unfortunately, is still a positive for us.
February 22, 20206 yr How much can we get for him in the summer? Clearly he's second choice behind Caballero now. Been a massive flop, no two-ways about it. Let's hope we can get a decent amount for him.
February 22, 20206 yr I don't think it's definitely over for Kepa yet, his poor form started halfway through this season. Think about if you were this unhappy about him last season for comparison. Hopefully he can recover his form and get even better because I think we would make a huge loss if we sold him now.

I disagree, I think he has been poor the whole season. He’s a crap keeper.
