We've got a new Kepa

So it’s starting to look like we will stick with Kepa for another season?

Not really, we are still being heavily linked with signing a new keeper.

I've just found out we already have, although not quite what we were expecting

Chelsea completed the signing of young goalkeeper Teddy Sharman-Lowe from Burton Albion on 6 September 2020. He signed a three-year contract.
An England Under-19 international, Sharman-Lowe returned to the Pirelli Stadium on loan for the 2020/21 campaign. A product of Burton’s academy, the 17-year-old was on the bench for seven games last season in League One and the FA Cup.

I think the likelihood is we will bring a new keeper to compete with Kepa and the keeper is most likely going to be Mendy, so the question is will he slot into the team immediately or does Lampard start the season with Kepa and if his form from last season continues we bring in Mendy.

I personally think Kepa is a decent sweeper keeper & allows us to play a high line, even when he has struggled whilst shot stopping or aerially he has been able to sweep any balls being played in behind. Having heard a few podcasts about Mendy's attributes it doesnt seem like sweeping in behind is one of his strengths, so therefore I think he may need some time to develop his game a little more in training before integrating him into a PL starting 11. This is bearing in mind that last season was a blip for Kepa and his performances improve in the new season. If Mendy was to be rushed into the team due to Kepa's poor form I think Lampard may need to revise the depth of the backline.

Almost certainly gets another chance (somehow) in goal today.

Hopefully he performs, if not let's hope someone buys him a one-way ticket back to Spain. No confidence that he will perform mind you.

Obviously the damage of the eventual selling of the most expensive goalie in the history of football would be more than losing 20 points. I have never disliked a player as much as I dislike Kepa but if it comes to the board, especially Marina, we should give them and him respectively a chance.

Actually a bit lost for words when it comes to him. I don't think an outfielder would do much worse, honestly.

How he let's in that goal is beyond me. And clearly any half decent shot is still a goal against us with this guy in goal.

He needs to be demoted to the reserves. Massive economical hit to take but we just got to take it. The only side he hurts when he plays is ourselves.

The chap is like the poor outfield player that always got made to go in goal when I was a kid. We need Mendy and we need him now.
The only reason he is getting game time is the sum we paid to get him. We must find a solution for this season that doesn’t involve Kepa at all.

Shot outside the box, he’s got it covered by his physicality but let’s it go in under his hand. The more things change the more they stay the same. Better get Mendy in this week before the Vermin visit or it may not be so sunny on Super Sunday.

Liverpool will stuff him, I hope Willy plays instead. Just knowing that it's Kepa half of the Liverpool squad would want to have a go at him from 35 yards.

Even before seeing the replay, I could tell there was something odd about their goal. The replay from behind confirmed it, it went under Kepa's arm. He has to save that, it's routine for any goalkeeper.
