Chelsea V Liverpool (PL) Sat 29th Sep 17:30 UK

It will be interesting to see if we still go with Cahill for this one with Rudiger being injured.

Should be a cracking match IMO though have the Reds as the favourites at this time.

With this being the cup game i'd rather see us go full strength in the league a few days after. So for this:

Kepa

Zappacosta  Christensen  D.Luiz  Alonso

Jorginho

Kante       Barkley

CHO      Morata      Hazard

This is the PL thread, the CUP thread is a different thread.

Lets try this again...

With this being the league game i want to see us going full strength with enough defensive cover.

Kepa

Azpi   Rudiger   D.Luiz   Alonso

Jorginho

Kante     Kovacic

Pedro     Giroud     Hazard

Agree with your lineup though I think Rudiger has pulled his hamstring so likley Cahill or another will be needed.

He'll get ripped a new one.

We must not lose this game.....its a must for me. Lose and the vultures will come down hard and big pool even more up. This is not 3pts......its much more.

We need to try and do to them what West Ham did to us on Sunday, but I'm not sure we're capable of defending that strongly. I can only see us losing this, sadly.

No f**king way we will do a westham on them........Sarri will have none of it I think. He rather lose than do that.......honestly I dont think he has the ability to shut up shop like Conte could. I'll be surprised otherwise. Its just not his forte I think. Now with Pedro and Panzer gone......well not good. I just dont want to lose this match.......a win would be massive, will send a couple of signals both for us and pool.

Regardless of whether Sarri has the ability to shut down the shop or not doesn't matter. We're seven matches into a season where we look to change the way we've been playing for fifteen years. Not only should a team of Chelseas stature never ever park the bus at the Bridge, the signals it would send to the team would be devestating in our bid to fully transition our playing style.

Sarri should of course, and he will, hatch out a plan to try and get the better of Liverpool - but still with his principles as the foundation. If we were to completely sway away from those principles, we might as well start the transition period all over again. I just don't think you can tell a group of footballers that: "yes, we will try to play on our premises, but since you aren't very good at it you can't do it [yet] against this and this team".

We will see. Maybe we'll lose big, maybe not. I actually think we have a better shot than what many of our own supporters gives us, let alone pundits. If we can survive the inevitable onslought of pressure Liverpool tries for the first 20-25 minutes against everybody, the game will settle. And if Hazard is at the top of his game, he'll be the best player on the pitch by a mile and then some.

Thats fair.......of course we cant just defend, what I meant was we must be aggressive and in their faces. Stable and solid in defence. Play high-line against these f**kers and we will have done much of their Work for them. As long as we give our best and dont lose.......will do me nicely.

after tonight it's reasonable to expect that they'll be even more determined to get one over us on Saturday - but we've beaten them and Eden showed that at any moment he can be unstoppable.

we'll have to be disciplined and focused at the back but I believe we can do it - 2 wins over them in a week would be amazing...

Can see Liverpool being extra fired up after our win at Anfield. Assuming Pedro and rudi are fit.

Kepa

azbi Rudi luiz  alonso

kante jorginho kovacic

pedro giroud hazard

subs caballero, Moses, morata, Barkley, Cahill, Fabregas, Emerson.

There is this opportunity now to win against them twice in a matter of a few days, in case our boys manage to do so, scousers will start to feel the loser mentality looming over them, it's a long season but if they have a lack of confidence even when they got a strong squad like that and when it's not even October yet...It would be amazing for us.

Panzer and Pedro would be a huge plus.........they will be up for it, Klopp will do his utter best to fire them up cuz he knows a loss to them will send all kinds of signals. We must be compact and dont let them breath. I expect the refs to favour them somehow of course........but its f**king doable and we must go for their throats........This is Chels and we dont take no scouser prisoners.

I truly hope Pedro is alright. He loves big occasions.

Kante will be needed against their offense so I pray he is on his usual high standarts, at least defensively.

Giroud will be the key - if he manage to do his best - dragging the defenders out of the penalty area, combining with Hazard for 1-2 -  we can destroy them. Not only with Eden, but with Willian/Pedro and even Kovacic, Alonso and Kante.

Marcos Alonso is the other question - he will surely get outrun by Sallah, the solution will be  to control the ball in between 65-70 percents  of the time and this way we reduce their chances to expose him.

It's going to be huge match. If we beat them, they'll start to question themselves and all the media and pundits will go where the sun doesn't shine.
