Why can we not go forward with pace? f**king hell, all of our players want to stop and wait on counter attacks it’s infuriating - Just. Run. Forward.

This is actually spot on, and ive noticed the main culprit is Willian. Everytime we break, he just stops with the ball, then eventually passes it backwards to Kovacic. He has been abysmal this half, and his miss was shocking. Hudson odoi on asap.

They are making it look hard. Not moving the ball fast enough. They show glimpses of the passing game and movement that Sarri wants, then other times it looks nothing like it. We don't have a front three making the movement Napoli's front three had, or even City's front three have. Only pedro is making those movements, and Hazard is finding the false 9 position awkward. We need a striker suited to the system, but the board are pissing about going after Wilson ffs.

FFS then why dont he change it? The sh*t aint working and hasnt for months yet we persist with the same players and system game in game out.

I mean... are we actually surprised?

Hazard struggling as a false 9.

Willian stinking up the joint and looking like he couldn’t tap a ball into an empty net.

Jorginho being a defensive liability and looks like he’s running in treacle.

Kovacic busy but offering nothing in attack.

These are the same things we see every game but Smokey Joe just keeps picking the same players and system every game expecting different results.

*shrugs*

Great Post! Exactly how I feel and honestly no I didn’t expect much when I saw we were playing the false 9 sh*t. I’m surprised we’ve even scored and I’ll be shocked if we win this match.

I was told this week he processes the ball. Before he gets it the ball is un-processed. He touches it 5 yards at which point it becomes processed. Only Jorginho can do this.

Apparently.

Yeah someone told me his job is not to provide asists but to aid us in breaking quickly. Which he does by passing it sideways 5ft

I half agree, we would make things a lot easier if we moved the ball quicker, but Napoli would struggle just as much in the Premier League. It's a different league, the tactics need to be adapted to suit the league. We can't just play like Sarri's Napoli and expect things to work out. Premier League defenses play different to Serie A ones. Serie A teams try and close you down all over the pitch, Premier League teams are happy with you to have the ball, they will suffocate you when you reach the final third though.

Why is sarri so stubborn. I dont understand what Jorginho brings to us when a team parks the bus.  I would bring on Giroud  and CHO for Jorginho and Willian and switch to 4231..... And if Sarri can only coach a football team in a 433 then put hazard in a midfield 3 with Kovacic and Kante...

I agree, this is boring. Barcelona / Spain without any end product. I have never enjoyed possession based football, it bores me to sleep. It's only enjoyable when it's played at pace.

What's the alternative? Sack another manager, bring in another manager, we don't get the results fans crave after a few months, then rinse and repeat? If this club sack Sarri, I think I'll lose interest entirely. People want the perfect players, perfect tactics, perfect coach, but go into a tizzy when things don't go well. There is no patience from the fanbase whatsoever. Sarri said a couple months ago we are a season off Liverpool/City, but everybody expects him to win every game, for us to play amazing football every match. Unfortunately this club is run pretty bad and there's never any preparation or support of the coach. As long as it stays like this, things won't change.

That's all Sarri wants him to do, he will be following the instructions of the manager you know mate. I agree he doesnt have the tools in the box to do anymore than you say, but thats the way the gaffer wants it, so be it, it's his head on the block.

Lets be honest though. Its not the system or the manager. Who else is there to choose from apart from giroud who is average and Odoi? We need new players simple as that.

Hazard's being totally wasted as the focal point. Doesn't see nearly as much of the ball as he does in midfield and he keeps dropping deep to get involved in the build up, leaving us without a forward for him to link with.

Giroud's the obvious sub at this stage, need someone to occupy that space and free Hazard to float with players in front of him. Could also use just having some form of aerial threat in the box.

Pedro and Willian have both covered a lot of ground, with some great runs in behind, but ultimately Pedro took his chance, Willian missed his. Simple for me - Willian off, Giroud on.

More goals in this for sure. Fancy us, but we need to get back to the speed we started the first half with.

Exactly......just because it worked in Seria A does not mean it will in epl. I keep saying even the best managers have had to adapt and change somewhat, Sarii either refuse such a thing or simply dont know how to. All teams know exactly how we play and set-out. You dont have the players? Then figure it out till you do........thats what a good manager would do.

True, but we need a system as well that test our opposition surely. This is the most predictable style of play and is so easy to defend against.

I don't ever ask for a manager to be sacked, but it's like I said the other day, surely it can't be much to ask for some entertainment and a bit of creativity. I don't expect to win every game at all, but what I don't expect is to see us struggling in every game. We haven't had a comfortable win in a long time now, we are making hard work of every single game.
