If I am paying £65 for a ticket I should be able to do what I want in my seat

I would like to talk about something which annoyed me during my trip to the Wolves game, I am from Ireland and I only go to games on a rare occasion, that was actually the first game in 6 years not counting the Legends game last year.

I was recording some footage of the game on my phone, around 3 minute of footage so that I could stick it on my youtube page to look back on and people behind were complaining saying how the game would be on TV tonight anyway, the funny thing about that is that I couldn't even see Match of the day anyway, they actually sounded angry at the situation. I can understand to an extent why people would get annoyed at a concert when someone is holding a camera up blocking the view but not in that situation, I bet the same people who moan about it are the same people who would go on holiday to Paris and take photos of the Eiffel tower even though there are thousands of photos of it online.

I decided that I will never spend money on going to an English soccer game again if there are hidden rules like this that I have to abide by just to keep the locals happy, I think it comes down to some people resenting that Chelsea are a club that attracts tourists nowadays rather than what it was like in the 70s and 80s. I would urge any foreigner to bring a big DSLR to the games, that will surely bring some of the angry Cockney people to breaking point.

I did. I brought my 400mm to the game. I'm a member with about 3 loyalty points so my seat was literally on the top row.

One of the stewards saw me at the top and asked me to put it away. He motioned and said that it was too long.

I yelled back "that's what she said" and promptly put my camera away ::ChELSeAFaN::

Get out of here, we don't need people like you taking up sparse away tickets, glad your not coming back tarnishing our once magnificent away support, I took an afternoon off work and drove 4 hours to wolves and got back at 2 in the morning, only to be up 5:30 for work next day, many would of done similar and to see a lame piss poor second half performance, and to then have someone f**king about on their phone filming it and not supporting team just so they can put it on some tin pot you tube site, that's what's wrong with football nowadays, the club needs to look at this, just proves all away tickets have to go on loyalty points, we need to get rid of this sort of thing, plenty of proper fans would of missed out on a ticket for people like you. Nice to hear your not coming back to Chelsea, if your desperate to go again, then Arsenal will I'm sure make you feel more at home.

Some people are more interested in showing others their experience rather than living for the moment and enjoying an occasion for what it is.

Taking your camera out and recording for 3 mins during a game is too much. The crowd around you were frustrated already.

You spent enough getting there to actually experience the occasion, enjoy it! Why not get a copy of MOTD or other highlights?

Never going to a game again is a bit much?...just dont bring your camera!

Excessive use of cameras at live events is a massive pet peeve of mine.

They're distracting, they’re annoying.

Quick couple of pictures to remember the day? Sure. Filming excessive chunks of low red footage that no one cares about? f**k off.

Taking snapshots and video snippets when a game is in play is a bit risky, especially when you try producing a feature length movie. The people behind have also paid for their seats and don't want to be looking at your phone in their line of sight. Being Anglo-phobic won't help any diplomacy.

I am personally not bothered when people film the game.

I don’t care and to be honest there are more things to get annoyed about - like our second half performance at Wolves.

what is sad about your post is you saying you won’t go again and having a dig at angry cockneys.

makes me think your post is a wind up.

You may not be a spoiled brat but your post comes across as one. I'm Irish but am with the angry 'Cockneys' on this one as I hate them feckin cameras also.

All nations are welcome, especially our neighbours, i love hearing Irish accents around the ground. Happy St Patrick's day.

There was an American at the wolves game in the shed who ever so often would ironically pipe up with one of those horrible cringey phrases they love to use over there. A bit of light relief from the horror show on the pitch

Just be nice to see consistency if i'm gonna get called out for something i, and others, didn't even think was that bad.

If we had VAR there wouldn’t be this inconsistency in the officiating.

Instead of bleating like a little sweet lamb, hit the report button, i know you know where it is.

Please refrain from that kind of language.

It really depends how you're doing it and in what section of the crowd you're in, like if you're trying at least to be discreet about it.
But make no mistake football fans across Europe hate cameras and in some sections you won't ever see someone recording unless it's the official channel for that ultras group so it's more serious than compared to a concert.
