He started out as striker  then centre midfield, and then right back from age 15/16.

I don't think it is clear yet what position James is best at, he does not look a traditional right back though that does not mean he cannot become one.

Glen Johnson also scored a few memorable goals and also was not the best at right back yet both had strength and speed to go past players and put crosses in.

fair enough, personally i see him more like ivanovic, I dont think he has the agility to play as a winger, how many players of his build actually play as a winger? 

I think he looks like modern full back, great going forward, bit suspect defensively, but he is still only 19, so the defensive issues can be ironed out with experience.

There is nothing wrong with his attacking play, he got himself another assist today, but defensively, he looks a bit rubbish in all honesty. I know he is young, but you can't be at fault for the same type of goal 3 matches in a row.

A few in the match thread were saying he wasn't at fault but I think he definitely was, he should be getting infront of the extra man spare there, that's his man to mark coming in, that's something Azpilicueta is superb at doing on incoming crosses, this has happened a few times now, he allowed Antonio a free header in the last game, that gave West Ham a lot of momentum with their first opening chance of the game. 

Don't get me wrong there are a few people to pick on, Christensen showing his faults, no strength, losing another ariel duel, Kepa most of all has to take blame in my opinion, he should be coming out for that, but James isn't doing his defensive duties well enough. 

However, he's young, he has bags and bags of potential, he's great going forward, he's still a nailed on starter for me. 

Fullback is the problem area right now, on both sides. I think most would agree if the transfer ban is over turned tomorrow, we will be lining up some fullbacks. James is not going to be the finished product this season, possibly even next. However he has done well and worth his spot in the team, decision making and awareness won't improve overnight for a young player. He's actually done pretty well handling opposition attack in 1 on 1 scenarios. I'd say if Azpi played on the right, we'd still concede goals, he's been beaten by pace quite frequently this year.

If we had two dominant CB's opponents wouldn't dare cross balls into the box. TAA is dogsh*t at heading a ball but has Van Dijk in the box to clear everything, we have Christensen...

I reiterate what i said above but with more emphasis.

Couldn't agree more, the RB situation is the least of our problems in the back 4, the very least. 

also the boy is 19 and missed pre-season .. and his making his debut .. but for the first time i saw another side to him where we was shouting in AC for not covering a run...

We look worse at the back with him and Andreas in the team imo.

I am sure he didn't see James, as he was following the ball in the air

He's quite good.

Compilation of James' crossing this season. For me, the only difference between him and TAA is experience and more clinical finishers taking advantage of assists.
