All the Sarri out fans are going to get their wish, I believe he is going mainly because of disrespectful he's been shown by the media and worst by our fans. Some of the chats were disgraceful and I believe he doesn't want to be here because of that.

I truly hope whoever comes next wins a trophy and gets top 4 because with Hazard going it would have be ideal for Sarri to carry on and continue his work, the continuity would have helped us greatly with the ban and hazard going.

I hope am proved wrong but if he goes we are in for a tough season, hope am wrong though.

Momblano reckons we're going to release him.

Who takes over?? ?

Who would even want it? Not sure why an established top manager would take the plunge under these circumstances, might as well wait a year until we get rid of the next one, then at least they would have some money to spend.

If lampard takes it, i dont see next season going well for him, at least we might see some of the youth get brought through, but i think it would have a negative impact on results in the short term, and we are a short term club.

#Sarri and @juventusfc also confirmed their mutual promise today: #Sarri (alone) saw Marina del @ChelseaFC reiterating his will. Missing #Abramovich final ok, but #Sarri and @juventusfc do not expect obstacles or compensation to pay @SkySport

We aren't even going to get a few quid for a manager who won the Europa League and got us to 3rd.

If Sarri goes without payment from Juve it will be a disaster. Double disaster if we let him go because some has made him a 'promise' as I read from Pedula

We're basically saying to the next guy, here's a blank slate; go make top 4

Lol really? Marina the hard nose negotiator letting a successful manager go for nothing? Does not add up. Given we paid what 8mill for him and he has done better here in one season than anything he ever did in Naples.

DiMarzio web site story says we want "Frankie Lampard":

Quote

The latest on the Sarri-Chelsea match and the coach's future Maurizio Sarri and Juventus are closer. Today the coach met Marina Granovskaia, executive director of Chelsea, in London. First, Sarri confronted his agent Fali Ramadani. The request of the former Napoli coach is clear: return to Italy. He reiterated it during the meeting. The reasons are many: technical, personal, family. The request was received by Chelsea. The parties will update in the coming days, with Marina Granovskaia who will report everything to the patron Abramovich. In fact, in the case of Sarri's farewell, Chelsea should find a replacement. The first name on the list is currently Frankie Lampard, currently on the Derby County bench. The London club reserves the right to inform Sarri of its decision and any exit conditions. Juve is waiting, as is Sarri. But both hope for no particular impediment to Chelsea, given the excellent relations between the two clubs. Even today, the Juventus coach and company had contacts. The shared promise is to sign the contract as soon as you get the go-ahead from London. It will take a few days to finally complete the process, net of any second thoughts by Abramovich.

Unless they are so desperate for him to go...…….

Italian media seem to be going hard on the story.

He's done well but in some ways his style isn't the best fit for our squad or England. I'm happy for him to stay but wish him well if he chose to return to Italian football.

Watch this sh*t drag out for over half the summer, just roles reversed compared to last summer.  Last thing we need is another shortened preseason with a new manager.

Basically it seems like he wanted assurances, like that we'd try and sign some players and not sack him if we don't sign anyone and it all goes tits up, and the board didn't give them to him. Can't blame him for wanting to go really.i We're run like a circus. Sure the trophies have kept coming at a reasonably regular rate, but that won't last forever if we don't start to actually work towards some sort of long-term plan.

Plenty of good managers who we wouldn't need to break contract for. Allegri top of that list.

If we wanted to continue our current approach Ten Hag would be the person to steal. Frank needs some more time. He'll manage us eventually but I'd hate to see him take the job too soon and become Solskjaer.

if we are getting zero compensation then surely that indicates he has resigned?  or wants to resign

Pedulla mentioned a flight to italy tomorrow... he will be juve boss by end of next week if true,

Reckon it’s a smoke screen for a sacking ; both parties get what they want. Let’s wait & see what compensation is paid by who to whom.

RA has 16 ?in 16 years. It seems to work despite of him & the board. Just us lot have to keep trying to hang on to the madcap roller coaster ride

Carefree then .....

Would allegri want this job though?

Best player about to be sold.

Transfer ban.

Unforgiving fanbase and owner.

Ten Hag could possibly be an option since his ajax team will probably be ripped apart.

Lampard would definitely take it, as would any championship or lower premier league manager.

We've been linked with Vieira today which seems extremely unlikely.

I can see us ending up with Blanc who seems pretty desperate to get back into work.

I am convinced it will be Lampard.

And that's why we haven't appealed the ban yet as we intend to give him a year to integrate and assess the quality of our current youngsters with very little pressure in terms of achieving results in season one. Which should give us a clear picture about what we need to do in the summer of 2020.

That would be some turn around from one the most demanding owners on world football.

What would happen if we have a really poor season, finishing lower than 6th? How would the fans take that?

Would Lampard get sacked after 12 months?

Would we stick with the young players hoping they will improve?

Lampard seems like a massive gamble to me.  I know all managers are a risk to some degree, but combining an inexperienced manager with a mix of decling and inexperienced players seems like a recipe for disaster.

Lampard knows the club as well as anyone.  I can't assume he would willingly put himself through this.
