Did you really think the players and fans are ever taken into consideration with managerial appointments ?

Could you ever imagine this conversation .....?

Roman: "We need a new manager"

Buck: "Who would you like next boss"?

Roman: "Anyone, as long as the players and fans like them"

Haha - I can't see it happening like that. But I guess that more often than not, it's written between the lines. Sure, results are good - and fans will like you for that. But results with managers whom the players and fans are backing will often mean more. Look at Klopp in Liverpool. Has won absolutely nothing, yet everyone is full of admiration for him, his personality and style of football. Everyone is backing him, from staff to fans to players... Which means that the board are backing him as well. And not just this year - or last year, where the results have been good. But long before that.

Hazard leaving seems to be certain. The Sarri-Granovskaia sitdown planned for yesterday could turn out in three ways.

1. Sarri continues as our coach following his current contract, wether we appeal or not. (I think we do though - just waiting until the last minute, making sure we'll get as long as possible to do transfers this summer).>
2. Sarri continues, whiæe extending and/or changing his current contract. Probably in regards to the results he'll get us next season and the transfers coming in, as well as a reference to Hazard leaving.
3. Sarri is released from his contract, while we continue our usual rollercoaster ride in search of that someone to take charge, who both the board, players and fans like. (Preferably someone that has no opinion with the club dictating transfers, and so on)

Hazard is definitely leaving, its still going to hurt a little when it is official.

Im hoping we sort the manager situation out quickly, we cant allow it to leak over into next seasons preparations again.

Im not sure about the ban, but if we were to get it frozen, we would get the full window regardless, because our punishment is 2 full consecutive windows. So either the delay is down to us waiting on fifa to presemt us with written reasons, or we are just going to accept the ban.

Sarri has a pretty strong hand now, but i would be pretty shocked if the club gave him a new deal after what has gone in with conte. Maybe we could activate his 3rd year now, to price juventus out of paying a release clause.

It would be great to get a statement from the club every now and again, unless sarri does get sacked, we are waiting on juventus to appoint someone else before we get any real clarity as fans.

This is so wholesome. You can tell that it means so much to him.

Well done, Maurizio!

I Prefer this to Mourinho throwing his PL medal in the crowd.  Seeing this kind of emotion you can't help, but smile.  Like giving your Grandad a present he wasn't expecting that has a lot of meaning to it.  Warms the cockles of one's heart.  Love it.

How can anyone vote this man in??? The list of mistakes  are long and the only reason we finished 3rd was a part from Mn city and Liverpool the rest of the league has been how can I put it CRAP and   Arsenal well HAHAHA This man will  not change his ways stubborn as ----

Yes, a genuinely lovely moment!  So pleased for him!                                                                                                                                                                                                                         I have to admit i wasn't keen on him staying next season and it wasn't until the League Cup final is when i started to warm to him.   He's a bit quirky and different from many of todays managers.  I hope more of our fans get behind him next season.

I seriously don't understand how the Sun stays in business.

isn't the sun the fishwrap that has the naked honeys in it? I am sure that is one reason.

BTW, all I want for Xmas is for both Sarri & Hazard to remain & let Pulisic play the false 9 - then I want Chelsea to win it all!!!

The silent majority of Chelsea fans want Sarri to continue for at least another season. You're the very odd one in the minority.

What did you expect from this season at the start?? Sarri has over achieved in my eyes.

Are you telling me that you didn't absolutely love the way we played during that 2nd half against Arsenal? It was brilliant football! Hopefully with another season we become a bit more consistent. A full pre-season will help.

Well, it does provide a useful source of toilet paper. Not to mention kindling!

Stayed in a campsite in Cologne during the 2006 World Cup with a load of CFC. Early one morning there was a “ knock” on the tent door....

Bill: “ Any newspapers”

Me: “ We’ve got the Times, much too intelligent for you”

Bill: “ I don’t give a monkeys. I only want to wipe me arse wiv it”

Totally. That little proud smile, ah.

Latest news from Italy is that we have agreed to release him from his contract so he can leave for Juve.

the club might get stick for this.... but it could be that sarri wants to go of his own choice

I believe that's what happening here. It's not a case of sacking him but rather Sarri choosing Juventus over us.

It's Pedulla who's claiming we have agreed to release him btw. Interviewed Sarri multiple times and is considered close to him.

Will be interesting to see how fast he can get Juve playing Sarri-Ball.  If he goes......

I will be a bit gutted as I was really intereged about next season.

We must carry on what we've started and keep up this transition to a the new style of football, as much as I respect Alegri for his record appointing him would signal a revert back to pragmatic football which would deflate me before the season even starts.
