I’m surprised so many have gone with Lampard as manager.

I reckon Sarri will stay.

Not a chance now mate.  Seems nailed on to sign for Juve Monday

Tammy depends all on the manager. With Frank at helm it could actually happen.

What i expect to see:

Kepa

Azpi  Rudiger  Luiz  Alonso

Kante  Jorginho  Barkley

Pedro  Giroud  Willian

What i hope to see:

Kepa

Azpi  Christensen  Luiz  Emerson

Kante  Jorginho  Mount

Pedro  Tammy  Pulisic

Haha - probably, yeah. The difference between him and Sarri is, IMO, that Ten Hag offer a more direct style of football. Not just moving the ball from side to side for the sake of it. What I fear with Lamps is that our fans in the beginning will give him a long leash due to his history at the club - but then they'll turn on him in time if results and/or playing style isn't going anywhere. And I would be so sad to see his legacy partly ruined due to taking charge of Chelsea too early.

As well, I think you're right about Tomori and JCS. Sadly... Tomori has been brilliant this year. Perhaps Chalobah has a better chance than the two - though he'll probably be loaned out.

If he fails to get Derby promoted next season I think it could be some time before he comes to Chelsea. If he comes now and the ban isn't stayed he will be given some leeway.

Surely even our fans would back "Super Frank" if the results turned sour.

I think the only way he doesn't come is if he doesn't fancy it right now.

Franks and Jody's eleven

Kepa

Dave   Rudiger   Ampadu   Emerson

Kante   Jorge   Mount

Pedro  Giroud   Peresic

Subs; Abraham, Barkley, Kovocic, Christensen, Luis, Willian, Alonso, James, Zappa, Chalobah.

 CHO & RLC - ASAP.

Assuming Kovacic has gone back, RLC and CHO are both still injured, this is what I expect to see

                      Kepa

Azpi-Luiz-Rudi-Emerson

              Jorginho

      Kante     Bakayoko/Barkley

Pulisic- Giroud-Willian

Ampadu in the starting 11 seems quite bold, but I do hope and think that he’ll get more playing time with Frank at the helm.  If not, he needs a loan.

I’ll go with:

Kepa

Azpi

Rüdiger

Luiz

Emerson

Kante

Jorginho

Barkley

Pedro

Giroud

Willian

Once everyone is back from their injuries, hopefully next season's team will be something like:

Kepa

Emerson
Christensen
Rudiger
Azpilicueta

Jorginho
Kante
Loftus-Cheek

Hudson-Odoi
Batshayui
Pulisic

Subs: Big Willy, Luiz, James, Barkley, Mount, Pedro, GIroud

Not gonna lie, with that lineup we lack a star that can take us to the next level goal-wise.

Unless Pulisic hits the ground like Hazard, we need at least someone with that quality.

Willian will likely be in the mix somewhere - I'm assuming Big Willy is Caballero, but other than that, that's probably the team in full for next season.

Edit: I think Zouma and Abraham will be involved too, but obviously if we bring back a bunch of the loanees, we won't have room on the bench for all of them week in and week out.

I think that's just going to be the breaks if the ban stays.  Defensively we should be better, but scoring goals may prove to be an issue, especially until we have CHO and RLC back, and possibly even after they return.

I thought this may prove fun and evolve through the summer.

Sarri or no Sarri? Registration ban or suspended on appeal?

Based on the likely Sarri gone and probably taking Jorginho and Emerson with him:

Kepa

James

Christensen

Rudiger

Azpi

Kante

Ampadu

Barkley

Pedro

Abraham

Willian

Well James is out already then by the looks of things.

So I guess then we switch Dave back to right back and bring in whichever of Emerson and Alonso is not sold. Am thinking one goes, not sure which.

Hoping Alonso is the one to go, because he has been poor for a long time now.

Emerson actually seems to be quite the player.

Kepa

Azpi, Christensen, Luiz, Emerson

 Kante, Jorginho, Barkley

Pulisic/Pedro, Giroud, Willian

Main subs: Mount, Tammy, Pedro/Willian/Pulisc

By the end of the season:

Kepa

James, Christensen, Luiz, Emerson

Kante, Jorginho, RLC (hopefully, he will be back to being able to play by then) if not Barkley

Pulisic, Tammy, CHO (see RLC) if not Willian/Pedro

Main subs: Mount, Giroud, Pedro/Willian, Barkley

Oh I forgot about Batshuayi... throw him in there too

Them were the days, I can’t even think of a team for next season as we are still in limbo.

If sarri goes likely Jorginho does too. The  two players who i was looking forward to next season have bad injuries so they won’t be featuring for a while.

Just look at that side. So depressing looking at these likely line ups for next season, so uninspiring and looks toothless without Hazards name in there. We need this ban frozen big time.

Been thinking about this since there's little else going on. Would reverting to a defensive shape of the 5-3-2 be the worst thing in the world until we get fit and have some options?

Conte went without wings his second year because we were short in the position (and to cover for Bakayoko and Fabergas).

Run something like this out there, with the option to bring on Michy, Pedro, Willian for goal scoring and finish with a back 4. Ampadu can cover a variety of positions. Barkley and mount for the midfield and Alonso at wingback.

Temporary until RLC, James, CHO, and Rudiger get fit.

Cant see Lampard going with a formation he barely played in his career, and didnt use at derby at all last season. Very unlikely we will see 3 at the back.

I think it will be 433, 4141, 4231.

4-2-3-1 was his formation at Derby, and we have players to fit that.

Kepa Dave Rudi Luiz Emerson is the obvious defence with Christensen Ampadu Alonso, maybe Tomori as he can also cover RB where we are short?

Two midfielders Kante and Jorginho/or Kovacic

Midfield front 3 is any combination of Pulisic, Barkley, Willian, Pedro, CHO, RLC, and maybe Mount in there.

Front man Abraham, Michy, Giroud.

I agree.

I think it makes some sense though in the short term. Luiz is much better in the middle of a back five. It would give him more freedom... Even to the point of playing a Fernandinho role where he moves up in attack and drops into a back five in defense.

Azpi was better covering for Moses than he was last year as a right back.

I like the idea of Willian and Pedro coming on at 60' to press in attack

The team is well suited to play three in the back.

I know it's not likely, but it might be the best thing for us in the short term if we were playing in a vacuum.

Not a lot of attacking threat in that line up

Unfortunately, not a lot of attacking threat in any lineup or formation we run out there to start the season.

If we run a 4-3-3 out there, I'm not sure the midfielders and forwards have as many league goals last season as Hazard had.

It's a system a good many of the players are familiar with....

5-3-2 makes us rock solid on defense. Good ves us energy at Wing Back. Having Giroud as a forward gives us infinitely better hold up play than we had when Morata was running it with Conte. And Kante and Pulisic are much more dynamic going forward than Bakayoko and Fabergas were last time we ran it.

Luiz scares me in a back 4. Azpilicueta wasn't at his best in a back 4. This makes both of them better right away.

Have the option to bring on Pedro, Willian, Barkley, Batshuayi in the second half against tired legs to push for goals.

We're strong in midfield and defensive personnel. Play to those strengths until we get everyone fit.

Anyway... Just an off season discussion.
