Fully agree, except maybe the Mou one. That's just me though, I wanted the board to back Mourinho that season no matter what, make a statement so the players didn't get their own way. But it wasn't meant to be. I can't say he's impressed me much since leaving though, failed miserably at United and he's not amazing me at Spurs.

I think we are being hard on him at Utd  unless we still believe in his 'Special tag'.

Won the EFL and Europa in his first season.

Obtained 2nd place in the league in his second and lost to us in the FA final.

Not great yet I would argue acceptable and Spurs still a work in progress yet looks like the League Cup might be going to North London.

I would never of sacked Jose 07, so the avb and scholari questions are simple to answer, they shouldnt of ever been near the club.

I meant the second coming.

#Chelsea’s aim this season was to finish in the top 2, with Roman Abramovich wanting to show Liverpool & Man City that they're back to make a statement. Being this far off of the top 2 is what is starting to look like a concern for Frank Lampard.

I suspect the club expected us to be in a better position and looking to challenge the top 2 soon maybe next season however currently then only thing I see is challenging for is top 10 maybe top 6  which is probably embarrassing for the board and Roman after spending that money.

billionaires have egos too !!! remember that

To answer your question, if it became clear Roman is going to go all in on backing Frank in the medium/long term (whether that news comes from a reliable source or a mouthpiece in the boardroom) then yes because of his (in my opinion) by in large good judgement with timings of managerial appointments/sackings I will trust/give the benefit of the doubt that he's seeing something that I (at this moment in time) ain't.

There's always people closely connected with the club to report on things, usually by little murmurings from people in the club. I have an ex sports journalist friend and often when a story involves the line "a source inside the club says" 9 times out of 10 it's a guy closely involved in whatever the story is about. How do you think the news on (off the top of my head) Conte, Sarri, Ancelotti, Chilwell, Mendy, Havertz, Mou returning, Lampard's appointment and plan with the youth, Schurrle and Diego Costa become common knowledge weeks/months in advance? We watched the latter dump us out in the CL knowing full well he was about to become ours.

If Roman of all people decided to take the Arsenal approach and give a manager unconditional time for the forseable it would leak within hours.

And the situation is not even remotely compareable. Klopp in the space of 5 years has won a Champions League and their first League Title in 30 years.

If a manager did that here nobody would be calling for his head. People want to talk about perspective and all that, but only when it suits them. How can you even make that comparison and claim that fans on here would want Klopp gone based on their reaction to Lampard? Lampard has won nothing as a manager, the comparisons are getting ridiculous.

And yet you would have asked for his head within the first 6 months if he’d come to us instead of Pool and got the same results he did in his first season with the scum, as you’re doing with Frank. Who’s to tell that Frank will not deliver the big ears within 5 years if you guys are not even willing to give him one season after a month of bad play?

By the way, whatever happened to Anthony Barry who was supposed to help us with defensive part of training? Again, looked good early in the season, but recently have been just shambles. Defending vs Leicester was absolutely shocking.

10 teams have conceded fewer goals than us in the PL so far ... and bizarrely the leaders Man United aren't one of them !

9 times out of 10, are you on class A's ?

As you conveniently cut it out i'll ask directly.

How do you explain the fact we all knew Costa was Chelsea bound when we faced him in a CL semi?

I don't think Jose was sacked in 07.It was probably a mutual thing .I don't think even Abramovic 07 would sack someone after 3 wins ,2 draws and 1 loss in the league and 1 draw in the CL.

Tbh I think bad results are expected in the first couple of seasons at least. An in-experienced manager with just 1 years experience in the championship will make quite a few mistakes. As a fan I’m more worried about the horrible football we are playing and the lack of willingness to try something different, it’s pretty obvious what is not working and hasn’t been working for a while now, just short passing and asking your fullbacks to cross the ball is bread and butter to most premiership defences. IMO there also seems to be issues this season with personnel like CHO and Tomori, just my opinion and seems something has happened.

Excellent article on Frank in the Guardian sport today by Barney Ronay. Well worth a read.

Elsewhere Frank says it's " passion and desire and togetherness " that will win us matches in the short .term.

Those qualities should be a given for anyone in a Blue shirt in my opinion.

come on you Blues !

You and your mate better get a twatter account then.

How did we all know Diego Costa was coming to Chelsea months before it was official?  If you're so certain you're right this should be the easiest question you've answered!

I was replying to a specific comment by @Slojo who decided that Klopp is good but Frank not because Klopp delivered a PL and CL within 5 years and Frank hasn’t in one and a half. But this same poster would have never given Klopp the chance at Chelsea because he got a horrid start and he’d be asking for his head as he is doing with Frank now. I was just pointing the incongruence.

We can discuss wether Frank has more or less experience, but let’s not kid ourselves, if Klopp had started at Chelsea as he did at Liverpool, those same posters would have got on his back pretty quickly.

Klopp is a mere one point down on Lampard in his first 38 league games (65 to 66) and got to two finals to Frank's one. Klopp also inherited a weaker squad.

So Lampard did actually have a similar "horrid" start to what Klopp did yet the minority which includes "those same posters" were fully behind him at that point.
