Frank insists on playing with a single DM when basically all of our CM/DM's are used to play 2-man tandem. It worked for a stretch of games. Now it doesn't. Suits Mount but currently no one else.

#Chelsea’s aim this season was to finish in the top 2, with Roman Abramovich wanting to show Liverpool & Man City that they're back to make a statement. Being this far off of the top 2 is what is starting to look like a concern for Frank Lampard.

Watching his presser before Luton right now and my word does he look knackered.

Called out Twomey for his negative pieces in the Athletic lately as well.

It's a stressful job and to be honest Lamps is not really born management material, he was always a soft leader who lead by example, I can't remember who but an ex player visited our training session and said Lamps was very different to how he was as a player so he's changing in character and still trying to navigate being a boss.

He always looks uncomfortable in interviews when he has to have the boss persona on and this press conference he is twitching and flinching when another question comes in. I do like the bite he is showing here for that reason,he needs to develop some 'f**k you' attitude and be more comfortable in his role to be able to make the best decisions.

Just watched his 'Presser', still seems very articulate, and one step ahead of everyone, but he has that look of, "Look i've had a few pints, and i'm not feeling you lot, back off, or ill reign some unholy sh*t on you ok" imho........

Totally unrealistic to bring in that many players at once with no pre season in the middle of a global pandemic expecting a top 2 finish when city and Liverpool have been by far the two best teams in the league for the past few seasons.

You could understand that if we were bringing  six works class players who had won big trophies at other clubs.

Must be a mate of Roman's or Marina's boyfriend to know that.

Based on the way people tend to turn on managers on this forum I think it would be fair to say that many on here would be calling for Klopp out now if we were to swap Chelsea and Liverpool's results the last 2 seasons.

Imagine still comparing Lampard to Klopp...

You nailed it, The last month!! And you want our manager sacked, Dear o Dear our fanbase these days

So with Sarri it's bad and he deserves the sack, but with Frank he doesn't? Don't understand the logic at all.

Pedro, Willian and Giroud also played that day.

Both Pedro and Willian put in a lot of running for us and not just offensively.

I am glad you point this out. You want to play more offensive player in midfield fine, unless he is great at defending and passing, you need to counter that by having your winger to be solid defensively. We on the other hand replace willian with Ziyech and werner and we double down by playing Haverz in midfield.

I mean we won the league in 4231 with Hazard who doesn't want to defend whatsoever and Fabregas who can't recover at all due to his lack of quickness. But we have willian, oscar, ramires do all the running.

If it’s true then we can understand why Frank is under pressure. Unfortunately with Frank over achieving last year, it has bought pressure on him. I just don’t think Frank has got the best out of the new players.

If you think about it this whole season was a gamble for us. We bought in 5 players for 200m everyone of them designed to be starters. Frank had no pre-season with the players. When we slowly got everyone in we started winning and we did well. First time we started slipping we needed experience from the manager and the players only to find there is none. Now we are here pondering wheter Frank is fired today or in two weeks. The gamble didn't pay off it seems.

If you still don’t comprehend why people are more favourable towards a club legend than an Italian manager who never really connected with the club. I really don’t know why you’re still asking the question as you’re never going to comprehend it.

And before you toe out the “separate Frank the player from Frank the manager” line. You’re effectively saying take the sentiment and emotion out of your thinking. In which case, you may as well stop watching football.

It’s the situation not the managerial ability that people are comparing. Change it to David Moyes - West Ham fans wanted him out pretty much as soon as he arrived. Hasenhuttl when they were awful getting hammered 9-0, Brendan in the first year at Leicester. That’s literally off the top of my head. This board would have been going tits with any of them to be sacked.

But surely the most important comparison is with ourselves? Pretty much every time the board/Roman has taken the tough decision it's worked out.

Because it's irrelevant when it comes to the hotseat.

And the situation is not even remotely compareable. Klopp in the space of 5 years has won a Champions League and their first League Title in 30 years.

If a manager did that here nobody would be calling for his head. People want to talk about perspective and all that, but only when it suits them. How can you even make that comparison and claim that fans on here would want Klopp gone based on their reaction to Lampard? Lampard has won nothing as a manager, the comparisons are getting ridiculous.

Worked out in what way ? Winning Europa league whilst failing to compete for the league title should never be classed as 'worked out'.

To cut a long story short, do you think AVB would have delivered big ears? Or Scolari the 2010 double or even the 2009 FA Cup? Would Mou have delivered the 16/17 title?

Regardless on what my stance on any particular manager is I've always trusted Roman's judgement on it because by inlarge he's got the decisions to sack right, especially in hindsight.

Fully agree, except maybe the Mou one. That's just me though, I wanted the board to back Mourinho that season no matter what, make a statement so the players didn't get their own way. But it wasn't meant to be. I can't say he's impressed me much since leaving though, failed miserably at United and he's not amazing me at Spurs.

Conte who I absolutely adored in the first season, pissed me off the season after with his constant complaining and shifting blame. So I was okay with seeing him go just due to his behaviour in the press, but I still have a soft spot for him and always wish him well elsewhere. Ancelotti sacking ripped me to shreds though I have to say, hated that sacking.

How much difference would Pogba and Stones (who he wanted) have made though really? Nearly 6 years on and they're both only now starting to find some proper consistency, and with the latter it's still hard to tell whether it's a legit improvement in himself or whether he's a Ruben Dias injury away from reverting to type.

So you'll trust Romans judgement if he keeps backing Frank then ?
