None of us knows what really happened. You could be 100 % spot on but you could also be totally wrong. I also don`t trust Reece or any other player in terms of "loyalty". Sadly, loyalty is really not a thing anymore in football (or rather in society in general). And even years ago it was very rare that a player was totally committed to a club. John Terry, Totti, Maldini, Puyol and some others (dont want to mention that moron from Liverpool in the same sentence with these legends of world football) were very rare exceptions to the rule.

Its true we dont, but based on what we have seen from several places we have actually offered him a massive contract already. its been reported by multiple people that we offered him wages in the 200k region but because reece is on 250k and other players around him on a lot as well he wants more and for me personally, hes not worth anywhere near that much.

I do agree with the whole loyalty thing being a dead concept these days though, it just doesnt really exist anymore and agents play a big part in that as well.

United midfield of Casemiro, Bruno and Mount LMAO!

Might be the most hideous midfield in the entire league😂😂😂

I could see him at Anfield though replacing either Henderson or Keita. Could also see him at PSG actually as i read somewhere that they are trying to move away from their high wage, aging poster signings and looking for harder working younger players. The fans are unhappy with their harlem globetrotters approach to their transfer dealings of recent years

Ready made replacement and an upgrade on what they had with Eriksen and Sabitzer. Don't really get what's so funny.

In Ten Hag system his best position would be on the right of a 4231. The perfect long term successor for Eriksen/Sabitzer thankfully signed for us.

Him being shoehorned into a two man midfield is what I'll be hoping happens if he goes United.

Bruno and Mount hoofing the ball up all game and losing possession every 5 mins. Then having to watch Casemiro try recover the ball and constantly pick up yellows and fouls as a result hahaha

Would be hilarious to watch that midfield and united do terrible

Why would they be hoofing the ball up all game?

Casemiro lone 6 with two 8's. Same midfield balance as City play.

have you not seen bruno play? mount also constantly loses the ball trying his terribly weighted forward passes

Mount’s about on par for progressive passes and pass completion with Odegaard who most fans have hailed as one of the best midfielders this year. Your own personal bias is being projected onto Mount not doing well elsewhere.

Think it would be a mistake to let Mount leave. Not that we want him to leave - by all accounts strong contracts have been offered. Just think the replacement cost for Mount would be very high, and he offers a level of passion for the club that makes a difference.

Kai Havertz touches the ball way more in the attacking third than Haaland. What does it matter? Odegaard's quality of pass is far superior.

Mount has some obvious qualities that any manager would love to have in the squad, but the reality is that he doesn't start in any position for a serious title challenger. If he did, I'm sure the board would've succumbed to his demands by now.

Honestly I've always thought the same. And I've watched him come through the ranks so will of course be painful to see him go. But lately I've asked, 'What difference did that supposed level of passion for the club make this season?' - buggerall. Experience, quality, and tenacity are  bigger influences.

He's a new breed of footballer. Whilst he has had his moments of brilliance, he's not a player that is consistent in providing the wow factor or constantly effects games in a positive way for us.

The new breed footballer is the selfish sort, all about what they can grab at this point in time with no deep or passionate connection to the club and it's fans. And never about sacrificing for the club or its fans.

There's no valid reason why a player seen as boyhood fan with the interests of the club would care about a few tens of thousands extra added to his already lucrative package in a way that he seeks a move elsewhere.

If the reason is that he feels his game time is threatened and wants to play more fair enough. Will be glad he's doing that to get more game time to show himself to the world rather than just sit on a bench and collect money.

If however the main reason for the move is money, all the best to him but that's exactly the type of player we need to get rid of.

Since we aren't keeping Felix, maybe we will make a serious effort to retain Mount. He will get 200k+ a week else where, and we will probably pay close to that much for his replacement, so why not just retain him and save all the hassles. It's a also a really poor message send to the youth team, when we sell players coming through the ranks for profit, then buy random replacement and youth players from all over the world.

Pass percentage and progressive passes together show the quality of pass being executed.

We won a CL with Mount as a pivotal role, he absolutely does start for a title challenger.

Who gets dropped for Mount at Manchester City or Arsenal  ?

Xhaka at Arsenal and lets be honest no one gets into a City team. Maybe Gundogan's when he retires.

I don't see Mount as being the same position as Xhaka, who is more of a traditional midfielder. I think replacing Xhaka is more likely to be a Caicedo or Rice.

Mount is probably up against Odegaard, Saka and Martinelli, and he doesn't start ahead of that trio in my opinion.
