Mason Mount

Mount is waiting to get the last best offer. Which for me is smart. I don't see him leaving. I just don't. He is an England starter and a great character. We absolutely need great characters not just muscles with ball at their feet.

Fine, are any of those other big clubs willing to pay more than Chelsea? I don't see Arsenal doing it. Liverpool is reported to be willing to reach his demands, but I'm dubious this is true, and I can see only ManU paying him whatever he's asking. I'm not sure what the difference with the Club is, but if he goes to a direct rival for what may be "wanting to get as much as XYZ", he will have lost my respect and I suspect that of a few others at the Bridge, especially when he turns there with Liverpool or ManU or wearing the Arsenal colours.

United makes sense, and they will pay what he wants if ten Hag wants him.I mean Jadon Sancho is on £275kpw and United still haven't grasped the two wrongs don't make a right rhetoric considering they have the highest wage bill and have trouble offloading players.

Arsenal likely prioritizing Rice and Liverpool MacAllister. Both clubs need to bring in a lot of bodies this summer so not sure where Mount at 60-70m lies in their budget.

Arsenal just gave Saka 300k a week, James is reportedly on 250k. They absolutely could offer Mount want he wants

Arsenal gave Saka a base 200kpw. His is incentivized to which if he meets his targets come up to 290kpw.

Saka is on £200k/w basic, performance add ons make up the £100k/w. Arsenal won’t give him £250k/w considering Jesus is the highest on £260k/w. Liverpool won’t pay him £250k/w with Van Dijk on £220k/w. Utd is the only team capable of matching his demands. Problem is the fans don’t want him, think he is overrated (so would turn on him easily), and I don’t see where he starts for them.

Speculation. Think he's been offered 3 or 4 deals since December and turned down all of them. There were reports he wanted to earn as much as his English colleagues so its anyone's guess. According to Steinberg he wanted better image rights, wages, and contract length.

Still insist the James contract should never have happened. You could tell immediately James was offered £250k/w he would want parity. The smart move was the £180k/w Trent earns at Liverpool.

Yeah I can respect that but imo It's a matter of value. £250k/w for the most complete RB on the planet when fit. Genuinely a world beater who's influential in every end. We had Real and City sniffing around and the likelihood of those two clubs offering attractive wages were high.

Mount is going the wrong way about it trying to compare his value to James'.

He’d be more suited to Arsenal in terms of systems, he’d hit the ground running easier there, so United should be our preferred option too, if he is to go.

Think joining Liverpool or Arsenal at this point in time is better than United. If his preference really is United than I can't help but feel money is the biggest motivator here.

I get the feeling he is gone.

I think the club have royally messed up in terms of ffp, so mount needs to go to get us back on track, and they are trying to spin it as just one of those things that we couldnt find an agreement on.

It doesnt sound like there is even an offer on the table.

Although I dont think he is irreplaceable, I think it sets a really bad precedent to sell a poster to boy to a rival. Especially when we are selling up the table.

Worrying times with this ownership, so many negative things have happened this season, very dangerous having owners with money, but no clue. Could be a falling giant within 3 years if we arent careful.

and in fairnes when, since then has James earned it anyway. I think he has spent more time injured and has not exactly sparkled when he has played recently.

Agree on all points here.

Amazon really f**ked up not giving us an All or Nothing.

It's not authentic anyway, the scenes that get filmed are effectively acting and/or convenient PR for the cameras.

He seriously taking shots?

Why do you think that is at Mount? Think it is more likely taking shots at players who have massively let down the club in their effort and performances this season.

Liverpool even more so, in terms of ‘fit’, profile-wise and setup he’d slot right in. United.. not so much, especially with Bruno & Eriksen there. It’s ‘very’ good for us if he goes United out of all the options, it won’t be a successful move and will continue the Mata/Matic formula.

Despite all the rumours, it’s hard to believe we’ve been low-balling him by that much, but if it’s true the last offer was in February then he’s as good as gone.

It was either at Mount or our underperforming players, it's hard to tell to be fair

He has been bang average though, & spent most of the season out injured. Shouldn’t be the one taking shots, just keep quiet and keep counting his money.

Agreed, I think it's a bit rich for any player to take a shot at others. Maybe he's referring to matters off field,  who knows, and it's better to just look the other direction than worry about players' social post. I hope Mount will be convinced to stay, maybe Pochettino will come in next week for the 'crunch talk'

It got nothing to do with Reece contract.

What you have to look at is puli, kai timo, etc2 contract. Now put yourself in Mount position, you outplay all of them surely you want more than them.

Makes a mockery of the clueless f**kwits who claimed no big club would be interested in him.

The goal posts constantly shift with them.

He won't start when Lamps leaves - Tuchel started him every game and was our main attacker under him.

Doesn't score or assist enough - hit double goals and assists in a single season.

Only does it against small teams - 4 G/A's in 4 appearances against the biggest club in the world (Madrid) and contributed in every stage of our CL run.

He'd never get a look in at another club - on the verge of leaving and every big club wants him.
