I just don't get this 3-4-2-1, Conte used it to be good defenders around a playmaker like Luiz, we're using it to surround Zouma.  

Conte used it to protect Fabregas defensively so he could distribute from deep, Lampard is protecting Kante.  I just don't get this system with this lineup.

Frank not changing anything here and it is clear it's not working. From formation, to zonal marking, to under performing players. We were critical of Sarri, but Frank starting to show his inexperience at managerial level and a stubbornness that is costing us at the moment. Pulisic must be smoking cigars during the training if he can't get into this poor performing team

We''re struggling bigtime tho and will do well to get a draw here.

Can't ever remember a top 6 team being so consistently terrible at set pieces as us. Its almost becoming a mental thing now where the players sh*t themselves every time a team gets one.

Their players have spent half of this match laying on the floor.

I remember Big Phil Scolari using zonal defense and it was a disaster. I'd much prefer man to man marking. Seems like the players understand that system better.

To be fair Pulisic had a start last week against Grimsby and wasn't overly impressive.

For a draw the club will get 900k euros.

ajax 3 up away at valencia. i think we will struggle to make it out this group tbh, can't even defend well. going forward we've not enough quality either.

Formation switch, hopefully it gives Lille something else to think about.

 

Going to nitpick but Zouma's football IQ is so poor, he keeps passing it back to the keeper, and just like that we've gave the ball to Lille when we had the momentum of possession for a few minutes.

That is the ONLY criticism.

The tempo we play now, the commitment of players forward in numbers, the adaptability of formation, the use of different personnel, not over-playing in pointless areas of the pitch. Everything is Better than under Sarri, massively so.

And all achieved whilst under a transfer ban and having lost one of the best players in the world.
