Kai Havertz

Mount was guilty of similar in the first half. Had an easy through pass to Felix but went sideways to Azpi instead. Felix (When back) will soon stop making them runs once he realises the pass isn't going to come.

As I've said before, as did Torres, as did Werner, as did Lukaku, as will Aubameyang and now Felix. Old man Giroud wouldn't make those runs too often and Costa had Fabregas and Hazard.

You have zero business starting for a top side if you can't make that pass. But then I guess some of these guys have effectively brought the club down to their level.

Mount actually had a great season last season. Havertz hasn't had a good season since he came and we spent almost £90m on him. Mental. For that money the least we expect is a direct goal threat, not little flicks here and there.

Pop quiz:

In the next 2 seconds, do you think Havertz will either make the obvious pass and attempt to slide-in his teammate for a good chance on goal? Or will he attempt to play it to the one hugging the touchline but get it it horribly wrong and lose possession?

Mount certainly did not. He scored one goal against top half opposition. Havertz did more in big games/moments than Mount. And that's not praise for Havertz by the way. Ultimately both were very  underwhelming.

He scored the winning goal but it's not that hard if Ziyech can pinpoint the ball to your big head! Needs to be more clinical!

If only headers were that simple.

You still need to win the header. For that good timing is required and win your challenge.

It really was by all means a perfect ball, had he missed that one too it would have been too much...

Not clinical enough to lead the line, we knew that already.

Overall he out a shift in today. First header may well have been disallowed for offside but still has to go in. As does the 3rd one. Lucky Palace did not punish us as many others have.

Scored the most difficult chance, missed 3 much easier ones to have made a much more comfortable win.

I’m biased because he’s my son’s favourite player…but he really should be sold in the summer. If we can sell Pulisic, Auba and Ziyech, I would be keen to keep him.

Until another player does a better job than him, I'd rather we give him a Boehly special  7 years deal than sell him. We aren't good at selling players, so likely a huge lose if we sell him. Given his age and experience, he's likely to hit his prime.  We are doing 100M deal for players with 40 something games, imagine replacing a Havertz? Be like 150M, easy.

I reckon havertz gets a lot of sh*te on this forum. Sure he misses a lot of chances but for my money he works hard and puts his body on the line every game. Frankly if it came to choibetween him and mount I’d rather we kept havertz. Hope it doesn’t come to that. That said he isn’t. True striker and he needs to improve his shooting.

‘’our best team will probably have four attack focused players, a striker, two wide guys and an attack minded mid/10. I guess he is more the 10 than any of the other spots. Although maybe he could play wide on the right

Any word on such sales Fabrizio?

He is one of the few match winners that we have in our squad.

He got us the 3 points yesterday, and he has done it a number of times, most famously of course in the final of the UCL.

He is not our biggest headache.

My issue is that I still don't know his best position. Not a winger. Not a CM. Not a striker. Has done well as a central atm, but we don't regularly play with one.

I thought it is quite obvious that his best position is as a st or as a ss.

Yes second striker in a 2 up top.

Havertz would do better with finishing  if sometimes he just smashed the ball. He always tries to be delicate and gentle with the ball but it makes it too easy to defend against.
