I hope we never have to deal with Leverkusen again. This is torture.

Leverkusen could be thinking the same about us though. Marina is clearly a very tough negotiator and will drag something out as long as possible if it means she will get the deal she is looking for. This isn't the first time in recent years where we have taken a long time to get a deal completed.

If it doesn’t sink deals like apparently what happened with koulibali then it’s a winning approach, it seems in recent business she has refined her approach from a few years ago and it can be very useful, here is a club that will pay 100 million for a player, can afford wages but won’t get taken for mugs.

Being a tough negotiator that will pay huge transfer fees if the deal makes sense, tells clubs don’t f about and the deal will happen, we aren’t cheap skates we just want a good deal, if all that is balanced it makes us a great buying club.

It's a 90m deal, it was never going to be an easy transfer especially with sensible people at the helm.

With such a huge transfer, even if it concluded early, there are still the PR side of things etc²

The thing with Koulibaly is different. De Laurentiis is a massive prick and a nightmare to do deals with.

Another 48 hours

Would not surprise me in the least that some other club behind the scenes is trying to hijack the deal at the last minute....anything is possible. If everything we read and listen to is fact then there is no reason to haggle over a few million (given the price tag) over bonuses etc; there has to be more to it than that I reckon.

The deal is done. He will be a chelsea player.

There is no hijack.

It has took a long time, because it is a massive deal, and made more complicated by the current climate.

Im sure there will be a nice announcement video next week, and then we can move this into general.

There is no reason for pessimism. Just relax.

It has been a great window for us

Ornstein confirming the deal will likely be confirmed within the next 24 hours, which makes sense following Germany's game last night.

It's a shame there was an international window because I think it's held up this deal and gives Havertz little time to settle before the season starts so he's likely to be eased into the team instead.

How? No one has even shown Interest let alone made a bid, according to near enough everyone who makes a living out of knowing this stuff he has already signed just not announced.

Thank god that was the reason Draxler started ahead of him last night, I was starting to think we'd been conned into paying £90m for the next Draxler.

We've experienced the German-Messi so I don't think we will go from there to next-Draxler. Although Draxler is a quality player. Should leave PSG... Anyway 24 hours is the new 48 hours.

This is so done.

Just need to pass the medical.

Biggest signing since Hazard? I think so.
Everyone wanted Havertz, we got him!

Someone find the flight 😉

I'll translate for you "Havertz flying to film location in London. Flight at 11:26 Terminal 8".  something, something "Mega-Deal".  Then something about buying new pants.

My German maybe a bit rusty

Right... so we have 'confirmation' from another Twitter person that this not actually confirmed but will 'most likely' be confirmed in the near future. No sh*t!

This is what happens in the age of social media and 24 hour news cycles.

I remember seeing George Weah to Chelsea as breaking news on Teletext. Nowadays there would be 2 months of rumour about will he, won't he and countless articles about rumoured loan fees, wages etc.
