Timo Werner

We utilise one striker and currently Tammy is great for us. He is English and Chelsea through and through. Timo Werner is looking at this situation and thinking will I play every match. He absolutely won't. He wants to go to a big club with a different striker-situation.

True! His options are limited though, bar Dortmund I can’t think of any top club with a role available for a starting No 9.

Bayern isn’t an option for the next 2 seasons, he will be foolish to move there as a backup to Lewandowski.

This could be a great signing to give Tammy competition. Even play with 2 strikers up top at times. I am all about bringing in top top talent to compete. Can't be afraid that an academy player won't step up to the plate. I think Tammy, Reece, Mason all would be even better and would step their game up if we signed direct competition with them. I don't think we need competition for Reece I was just including him in that he has that kind of mentality. Obviously he is currently competing with Azpi for playing time.

If we really brought in Timo Werner and Isco I think that would be outstanding business for January, but we will see how it plans out. Obviously with Leipzig's place in the Bundesliga and the fact that Werner is absolutely killing it makes it pretty unlikely that he leaves in January but I guess it could happen.

I think that if you want to be at a big club, you are looking at a striker situation like Chelsea's everywhere unless they have an aging striker that needs to be replaced. I think Timo could be a great compliment to Tammy and they could, in fact, feed off of each other. Clearly, Tammy is not a weak spot, but no reliable backup behind him is less than ideal.

If Timo Werner joins and settles nicely, Abraham is 2nd fiddle to him.  In the same way if Isco joined and got up to his best, Mount is miles behind him.  Sancho would be ahead of CHO.  We all want the youth to do well but sometimes the need is there to bring in someone better, be it British or foreign.

We need a left back, striker, creative mid, centre back and possibly a winger over the next 2 windows.

Doesn’t Werner only have 6 months left on his contract? Couldn’t we sign him to an agreement in January? I know it would be ideal to have him come next month, but to ensue we get him, it’s not a bad idea.

He signed a new contract in august, but there is a 30 mil release clause in his contract. For that price it should be a no brainer to try and sign him.

I think 20 odd teams are chasing him because of that laughable release clause. I feel there is a better fit for him than us.

What about Jovic on loan from Real? Untested in Prem so a bit of a risk.

He is a perfect fit for us though. He offers something very different from what we get with Tammy. He has the speed and dribbling of Salah, with technical ability and clinical finishing to go with it. RB Leipzig is playing him alongside a big striker in Poulsen (simillar to Abraham), or as a wide left forward in a 3-4-3. I'm sure he can play as a lone striker as well, if Abraham is rested, his movement and speed makes up for what we loose in a target man.

Jovic don't have the extreme attributes needed to be a top striker in my opinion.

There are just a few clubs that would be more attractive for him than us. Though Tammy is the first choice so he maybe would choose to go to a club where it would be easier for him to adapt...It's up to him then.

Jovic would be great, he would fit in fast with Pulisic and Kovacic.

I think Tammy is doing fine, I just think we need a viable backup striker.  Jovic and Werner, while they would be great additions, would likely push Tammy for starting time.  I am not sure who would be available that fits a mold to support, rather than take the spotlight away from, Tammy.

A sensible option would be to lure someone from the Prem. Werner and Jovic are both new to the Prem. That is if we want to have an impact this season.

Who in the PL outside the top 6 though? The best ones are either Jiménez/Ingz and it will take over £40m in Jan to lure either.

Still think Mitrovic might be the best reasonably priced forward we can get in Jan.

One thing I am sure of with Leipzig top of the Bundesliga and a chance to win it for the first time ever. , Werner is not joining CFC this window.

Then we got no hope. He would be nuts to pick us over Liverpool the way both sides are.

Unless one of Mane, Salah or Firmino leave I can't see him joining Liverpool.

I would think long and hard if I was Timo. Neither team can hand him a starter-spot. Stylewise Liverpool is better as they actually can drag out defences from their shell opposed to us. If you look how he scores it is from open play and quick attacks. We have 1-2 of those in a game at home.

Tammy is an excellent player and will start ahead of Timo at first. Same goes with Liverpool-forwards.

RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann told the Bundesliga website: "From this deeper position, he's much more involved in our build-up play and combinations. In the last few years all his moments have come in transition, whereas now he has his moments in combination play too. He's having many more touches of the ball than in previous years, and this new position has done his development good, playing in between the lines against teams who sit deep. That's another trait he'll need if he wants to be one of the best in Europe. There are a lot of teams who sit deep and defend deep against you, and he needs that second way of being dangerous to opponents too, and he's definitely developed that this year."

Sounds ideal for the prem I must admit

Isn't that the point of top level sport? The best gets to play? Just because Tammy is from the academy doesn't guarantee him a spot in the lineup
