June 30, 20233 yr Can’t we even sell him for a nominal fee of say £1m just to mitigate the medical issues and risks? Surely we can overcome this rather than have him here for another two years?

It’s literally the stuff of nightmares to have him of all people stinking up the place within that new group.
July 1, 20233 yr I think we will need to give Ziyech time to process this information. cannot have been easy to hear. very few clubs will risk paying him a big salary, or even a decent one by a footballers standard. So he he likely either accepts getting to go and play in Saudi on likely more money than he gets from us, or he does not player and maybe gets fired.

Do we know how much he has been offered by the Saudis now? If the adjusted salary is lower than his Chelsea money, he may opt to stay put and go through the motions at Cobham, hoping he won't play to save his knee and hip.

We will need to pay him off for the remainder of his deal if we want rid.
July 1, 20233 yr So where has this injury come from ? Did we know about it when he was signed and why haven't our medical team picked it up previously ,its not as if he's not been injured enough

Without knowing the exact Saudi offer and what he is paid by us you may be right Val. 5 hours ago, Chelsbear said: He can't be fired he's under contract. I mean if medically he can be disqualified from playing at the level of the PL then I would imagine he cannot fulfill his side of the contract.
July 1, 20233 yr I can sympathise with his injuries. If I sit around on my arse not really doing anything for too long my sciatica flairs up and cripples me too.
July 1, 20233 yr Can’t we write him off insurance wise ? Or did we take out third party fire and theft as opposed to fully comprehensive?

No, you can't terminate a contract unilaterally for a player being injured. We could offer him mutual termination but he would be entitled to full payment of his contract which would f**k us FFP-wise, and given his age no lawyer worth their salt would advise him to take the offer without a guaranteed offer elsewhere.

If he got an offer of a full payment termination of his contract, surely he'd take that now ? Why wait another 2 years ? He's more likely to find a new club at age 30, with some injury issues, than age 32 with some injury issues ?
July 2, 20233 yr I way the club pays him off to leave. Makes zero sense from a player welfare issue, a squad perspective or for FFP. There will be a club, somewhere , that will take him. Be it on a permanent move or, if the injury is an issue, a loan with us subsidising the wages. A team like Fulham, Forest, Sheffield Utd, etc would take him. Ditto clubs in Holland. ditto clubs in France. Ditto clubs in Italy. Ditto clubs in turkey. Even if we pay 90% of his salary during any loan, it still would be beneficial to paying him off to end his contract early

There are people out there without knees, so he absolutely made sure we know he isn't one of them. I for one kinda knew, but I'm just very sharp in those matters. Good to know Ziyech is thinking of the thickies out there In other words, he probably is a bit moronic If not that, he has a unique sense of humour.
July 6, 20233 yr I don't know why clubs go through the hassle of expensive medical tests when all you need to do is show an iphone picture of your body parts. Thanks Hakim!
