Agree. I would bench Werner too just to give him a small rest. CHO has looked good today. Him on RW and Pulisic on the left should be how we line-up against Villa. 

Play him in the middle, or don't play him at all. It's that simple, I don't care that he brings energy to the team, he's now less than half a player he once was and a month ago I think I said he was half the player but since then he has only gotten worse.

He has limited space to run onto, and even when he gets in good opportunities he isn't finishing, he's messing up our best opportunities. As bad as Willian looks for Arsenal right now, I would take Willian over him today.

Striker or second striker and no other position, he's had enough games on the wing to prove that it's not working.

He's playing as an inside left forward. The role should suit him.

He's had a ton of goalscoring chances. But his finishing is a bad as any i've seen at the club. Even today he got a couple of decent opportunities but just fluffed it again.

And that's without mentioning his touch which makes Lukaku's resemble Messis, and his passing which makes Lee Cattermole resemble Xavi. 

He's been utter dross.

Ultimately whether it is you, or more likely the club, who decide to bring in Havertz and Werner you as the manager have to make the most of a combined 125mill investment. 

Frank has not done that, and you can blame it on his position for Werner and even Kai but can anyone honestly say either of them have looked like they are willing to busy a gut for the manager, their team mates or the club?

And why would they trust Lampard at this point. Im sure they werent told that they will play 90% of games out of position and dont say that he played lw at Leipzig as well. That guy Angelino held the entire left side in that team. Werner didnt have to do sh*t except for score the goals. He can play LW if needed and has showed that at the beginning but im sure that he grew frustrated when it seems that both Giroud and Tammy are ahead of him in strikers pecking order. He gets played on the wing even if there are healthy wingers just so Tammy can play a striker lol

To be fair it's because they didn't have the money due to covid, Timo was their first choice target and Jota was just a cheaper plan B.

Not much cheaper. Jota at 45mill or Werner at 53mill.

While he should be better (at least do the basics), it's mind boggling that he continues to be played on the wing given how poor he's been over there. If we bought him to play on the wing, why didn't we buy an out and out winger? And if he wasn't bought to play on the wing, why did we buy him, given that Tammy continues to be preferred in the CF position?

Mate, you’re wasting your time with some on this board. They’ll defend Werner if he puts in this standard of performance for the next 5 years and blame it on his position.

 

Completely ignoring the sitters he’s missed and his inability to control a football - neither of which have anything to do with his position. I can understand him playing out of position and not playing to his full potential but that has nothing to do with the basics of being a footballer.

Gut reaction but I feel both Werner and Havertz will end up as duds for us.

He drifts left that’s  different to starting left and having the Centre being occupied by someone else. He starts as CF not as LW and drifts left

When he starts LW or RW it’s impossible to run into his favourite position CF if Tammy/Giroud is there. This guy doesn’t go from one of the most lethal in Europe to a dud in 6 months.
