January 13, 20215 yr Hasn't had a run of games up top in the middle nor do we play to his strengths. This is where Lamps needs to change things to get the best out of him. Instead of constant crossing to Giroud or Tammy who is poor at getting on the end of them, work on plays and through balls to accommodate the many runs Werner makes. Leicester do it well for Vardy. Possession based football isn't best for this team .
January 16, 20215 yr f**king Hell what has happened to this bloke? He's currently looking everywhere near as hopeless as both Robert Fleck and Chris Sutton!
January 16, 20215 yr Prime Morata at the end there, just knew he wouldn't even hit the target, like whenever Morata was through.
January 16, 20215 yr Chelsea curse, we've seen it time and time again, strikers come here and turn w**k, it's really weird.
January 16, 20215 yr Morata had a great start for us but quickly turned to sh*t. Werner had a decent start and have somehow turned out worse than Morata. Absolutely absymal. Doesn't do anything right and hasn't for many months now. All the summer-optimism over Werner & Havertz have certainly been torn to shreds at this points.

Except that Morata played as the striker all the time, while Werner spent most of the season with the instruction to go wide and hug the touchline in transition and to cross for someone else to score and what not... Totally different circumstances. Wait till next season when we are in full reset, it just can't be that these great players forgot how to play out of nowhere.

In what universe should Werner be our striker considering he's doing his best Ali Dia impression on a weekly basis at this point? Not to mention that he was a striker today and had three gold edged opportunities down the middle today only to squander every single one of them.

If Lampard is capable of getting him back into form he will be a good player once again. He looks demoralized right now so let's see how he does next season.
January 16, 20215 yr With that said, I haven't quite given up on him yet. But it's dangerous when you get to this point where you are new at your club and nothing have come off for you for a long period of time. And you have been reduced to a bench-option while you where the megastar at your former club. I assume it's very easy to start missing Germany and RB Leipzig where things were going smoothly and things where "easy" when you are on freezing on the bench at Craven Cottage. Same thing goes for Havertz too really. They've both been reduced to about 5th and 6th choices in terms of attacking options which no one in the world would have expected back in August.
January 16, 20215 yr Chelsea are single handedly f**king up Germanys chances in the Euro. A third of their starting eleven has turned to sh*t.
January 16, 20215 yr Like I said I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already instructed his agent get him home next season if this continues same with Havertz he doesn’t look interested and looks like he has loss confidence here. We haven’t once played to his strengths not fricking once this pass pass pass cross cross doesn’t suit his game as shown at the end he needs space and it’s the managers job to create a tactics which can possibly give him space and exploit his strengths. Why buy a player that requires space and direct play then you go ahead and play possession crossing football either the manager didn’t fully read his scout report or he did but just trying to fit him in to HIS system. Either way he will continue in this form unless the approach change and I don’t see the approach changing so something will have to give.
January 16, 20215 yr If Werner fell into the sea he'd miss the water. As I mentioned before he reminds me of Robert Fleck in style of play, weight and goal scoring capabilities.

But when he came on today it wasn't pass, pass and cross, cross. He was played in a number of times and was woeful every time. Surely he is not so one dimensional that he can only play one way? Still think he will come good but right now he needs to go back to basics and get his head right.

January 16, 20215 yr I think today was the worst .....the last miss on the breakaway was very bad. But the gorgeous pass CHO fed him in the middle and Timos first touch sent the ball 6 feet in front of him. Sunday morning rec league first touch. We have been seeing that first touch for months now.
January 16, 20215 yr Abraham got dogs abuse last year for missing harder chances than the ones Werners missing. I like the guy but this is becoming more than a blip. These are chances he should be scoring, especially given his all round game isn’t that impressive in my opinion - he needs to be scoring goals. I have the same faith in him converting that I had in Morata which wasn’t much.
January 16, 20215 yr He would really need someone to talk to right now, it's clearly all in his head because those types of counter attacks he used to score from very easy before. Good that Lampard supports him because he needs someone to tell him to keep his head up.
January 17, 20215 yr Still keeping the faith because with Torres it was physical turned mental, with Morata apparently he was always bad with his feet anyway and a wet paper towel. I am getting a bit worried though because before he did everything right except the finish but today he's starting to have a bad touch and passes. His head is starting to drop.

January 17, 20215 yr He's pretty bad technically. I don't recall an attacking player we've had in recent times with a worse first touch than him. When he's on song, like he was for some time at the start of the season, it may be annoying at times but he is still offering a lot to the team, by getting into dangerous positions, stretching teams, scoring and assisting. But the form he's in right now... It almost feels like we're playing with 10 men whenever he's on the pitch.
January 17, 20215 yr When people talk about confidence, you would think that a whole week off and also scoring in a cup would bring him back to life.
