that was nailbiting.. how did we survive that .. i have no idea... we really dont have the physicality to brace for long ball.. we need some men to defend.. and a proper keeper...

Only 2 teams in the division have worst defensive stats than CFC. Norwich and Villa.

if the club and frank are serious about next season-

James Tomori need loans

Alonso & Kepa need moving on

Need a top goalkeeper and center half (of the caliber that turned the dippers from contenders to champions) and a top left back.

It was good to get the points today, least the team didn’t concede at the end but only just,  but let’s face it with that back 5 it’s going to be an uphill struggle to stay in the top 4; City will know about their CL ban appeal next week, let’s pray it’s upheld by CAS and 5th gets CL.

Only caught the second half but anyone wondering if kante still brings as much to the table take a look at that as reference.

Whatever franks issue is with Jorginho is he needs to get over it, I don’t think I’ve seen an individual come in and change a game that much before, went from 38 percent possession to 80 in the 5 mins following his introduction, looked like the under 15’s brought on their big brothers to help, literally a man leading boys.

Defensively I can’t wait until FT is back Christensen is so light way he is a liability, on the other hand zouma should never lose his place again he solves set pieces problems and that tackle at the end was game saving as was that fingertip by kepa.

It was yet another proof that J5 is very much underrated, he transformed our team last season.

Thoroughly undeserved three points but I'll take it all day long. Looking to limp over the line then come back stronger next season with a number of much improved players. Fair play to Jorginho for his performance at the end.

Does no f**ker just clear their lines anymore?

I was thinkIng the same in extra time “just hoof it if you need to” What the bloody hell was Tammy doing, as soon as he realised he lost the ball stupidly he should be taking one for the team.

I think it is the problem with a young side,  Drogba would have been pulling out all the tricks in the book last 5 mins

Jorginho was good at the end but I thought Gilmour did alright tonight. Think cho could have come on for the last 10. RLC looked good ain’t attack and a well taken goal by Tammy who stayed onside and finished at tight angle. Lots to like about all that.

1 whole season with Jorghy and Gilmour could learn so much! Frank doesn't see it sadly.

sometimes your best performance is when you are not on the pitch.. for him it was true we were poor till he came on..

You are right I can't remember a player coming on and changing the entire direction of the game that much shows the difference in potential and current quality.

Goalkeeper - Suppose He Could Of Done Better For Zaha's Strike, But Great Save At The Death

Defence - James Poor Defensively And Not Great Attacking Wise, Christensen Did Okay First Half, Second Half Got Bossed Around Way Too Much, Zouma Great Performance Second Half Saved Us A Few Times, I Still Think He's Gonna Do Something Rash At Some Point, Azpi Played Alright, Got Forward Ok To Link Up, Defensively Alright, Missed The Header In The Last Minute

Midfield - Barkley Did Ok Nothing Spectacular, Mount Ran About A Lot Put Himself In Good Areas But Not Much Else, Gilmour Did Ok, Didn't Take The Game By The Scruff Of The Neck Like Jorg Did When He Came On

Attackers - Willian Great Performance, Unlucky Not To Score Great Tracking Back When Needed, Pulisic, Very Good Game, Quiet Most Of The Second Half But We Didn't Get Hold Of The Game In The Second Half, Giroud Took His Goal Well, Good Hold Up Play But Not Much Else

Subs, RLC Good Counter Attack For The Goal, Few Good Blocks, Abraham Took His Goal Well, Jorginho, Controlled The Game When He Came On, Gave Us What We Lacked Most Of The Second Half

MOTM For Me Was Zouma

Yes, as you pointed out he came on around 80 minutes.

we need a coach

Defensively we are worse worked than a Championship team

yeah and klopp suddenly became a great defensive coach in the span of 3 seasons? or maybe it was because van djik came in and things improved. before then liverpool's defense was a joke

we need new defenders plain and simple

Now do people see why Sarri toned down on the aesthetics and focused on mastering the possession bit first? People moaning about how "boring" it was weren't seeing the bigger picture.

Sarri would have played Pedro and Giroud all season and we would have never gotten to see Mount and Tammy... Hard to think we would have been in this position with him.. All said and done with the team we were starting out... i would have bitten your hand off to be in this position at this point in the season.

It's my birthday today and I've aged more than just one year. I'll take the prezzie of 3 points, though...

Happy birthday wish you all the best! :bf-freakparty: :drinks:
