Havertz wont save us. Even Messi and Ronaldo cant save us. Our defence is sh*t and i hope this is the last time i see that soft ass Christensen is a Chelsea shirt.. Honestly we should sell them all except tomori who has upside and can be improved. Christensen plays the physical game like a girl, ( Actually like a soft girl because not all girls are that soft ) and i think its too late to buy brains for Zouma and Rudiger

When I say that this Chelsea team needs an overhaul, about, 5, 6, or 7 new players needed in this Chelsea team, can you see?

Chelsea had 76% possession in this match but lost 3-0 – since 2003-04, when full possession data is available, this is the biggest margin of defeat for a team to hold as much as 76% possession in a Premier League game. Countered.

This clearly shows that it's not up to our midfield at all. You can't coach a bad player like Christensen, you just can't.

I know I always say something to this effect and it’s getting tedious but I’ll say it again -  it’s not the end of the world. Pretty much everyone on here would have been ok with a top 5 finish at the beginning of the season. It would be better than my expectation.

I'm not that bothered wether or not we make. CL next season.

What I am looking for is signs of progress and   apart from Pulisic is see non whatsoever!

Sarri had the same defenders + Luiz and Zappacosta and Zouma and we ended the season with the 3rd best defensive record

It was a sarcastic response ? Lol because everyone keeps blaming the players

Klopps defense was a joke prior to signing VVD and now he is lauded as the best Manager in the world, defensive tactics can only take you so far if you've got sh*t defenders.

That's an easy comment people often use. They actually weren't anyone near as poorly set up as ours

Sarri didn't play open games it was either 70% possession with 0 risks, or a false 9 super defensive tactic. Lampard is playing an open game and it has fully exposed our defensive players that have been in the club for too long.

Our backline is to be blamed either way.

That’s the angriest I think I’ve ever seen Frank. Interesting that he said that he won’t forget what he’s seen tonight. I think this has confirmed Marina is going to be even busier with outgoing transfers than anyone expects.

Let me offer my frank and honest opinion here, Lamp is CLUELESS when it comes to defense.

And I'll tell you why from an American perspective.

You see, we Americans suck at football, we have very little talents when it comes to soccer, yet we're able to make it to the WC consistently over the past 20+ years (except the last WC).

When we enter the WC, we're considered one of the weakest teams in the tournament; yet we're able to consistently move past the group stage and into the round of 16 while some countries like Germany, Italy, France, England, etc exited the group stage.

You see, our players are made up of mostly guys from the Championship, Bunlesliga II, Colleges and Universities, and sometimes a few from the the EPL and Bundesliga. And we have to face the mighty soccer nations such as England, Italy, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, etc. Yet, we're still able to keep the games close, and sometimes we're able to get a point, and occasionaly took all points.

How did we do that? We defended, and we defended well and we also had some decent keeper. You see, a very well trained and well drilled and well organized defensive unit can go up against some of the best in the world and still able to keep the game close or sometimes steal points where we had no chance. We did not get slaughter 3-0, 4-0, 5-0, etc even our defenders are made up mostly of amatatuer or at best 2nd or 3rd tier players.

So, in conclusion; Chelsea defenders are actually not that bad. Ask yourself, how many EPL clubs have better defenders than Chelsea on papers? Not many.

However, as a defensive unit, they consistently perform very poorly; and that is because of the incompetent in their commander.

I don't believe that Frank is a terrible coach. I think he's good at the offensive, I think he's also good at man management, and I think he's also skilled at inspiring his team; but I truly believe that he's very poor when it comes to organizing an effective defense.

We don't want to play that football. We want to attack and win. We don't want to sit back. It is a very demanding style. Today we lose but in a year or two we might be something else. Sheffield is sitting back. We are not.

Nice moderate reactions in here. Is it always like this? We lost, it was awful but we know we have a poor defence. It's nothing new. Didnt create enough today to combat our frailties. Abraham is not playing well enough to be starting games. Giroud should have that spot locked down. That's the only bit I put on Frank. The rest of the team is what you would expect given our recent wins. There were a lot of poor decisions from individuals today, like Mount trying to run the ball out and losing it on the edge of our own area for the first goal. Awful result, bad performance but we have to bounce back like we did after West Ham, and pray CAS upholds Man City's Champions League ban!

People have been calling for change for years about the way we play. It’s always been people moaning about us parking the bus even when it was successful. They want attacking football but want us to defend like a prime Mourinho/Conte side. It doesn’t work like that when you have below average defenders unfortunately.

Plan or not. We have defenders literally assisting their attackers, we have a striker that can't do anything even remotely right and we have a goalkeeper so bad that a shot on goal equals a goal for our opposition.

There isn't that much the manager can do about all that. Several of those that started today are either not ready or not good enough to play in the premiership, let alone Chelsea.

Sarri had a worst defensive line up in Luiz yet we had a better defensive record. We were able to defend a whole lot better.

Today is a setback. Bad performance. Overall it is all positive. Let's move on.

David Luiz was a far better CB for us than any of the three that was on the field today.

But yes, Sarri style was also all about taking no risks at all. Lampard's vision is different and although we have been woeful defensively i will put a lot of that down to God awful personel + goalkeeper.

Me neither.

But to attack, you must be ready to defend when the attack comes back the other way.

I truly think Frank need top assistant who understands how to defend, or he needs to pick up that skill sets very quickly; if he's to be successful. Put VVD on this team and he's still not going to fix this defense.

Ask Arsenal fans what they think of him. Was barely a week ago he came on as sub, gave away a goal and got sent off wasnt it?

Liverpool and City lost like this couple years back. They bought better players and evolved as a team.
