Next season we will be better.

No respect, lacking determination and a will to fight. Sheffield United can be proud of their boys, they are a team in every sense of the word. Keep on disrespecting them, they will keep making people like you look like fools.
July 12, 20206 yr Embarrassing, but totally not unexpected. Palace should have scored 3-4 against us, West Ham scored 3 and should have a lot more, Sheff just took their chances and beat us where it hurts. The defence has been atrocious after the project restart, lots down to individuals, and the team's defence structure, without Kante there's nobody offering any protection in front of the 2 central defenders. In attack, Tammy offered nothing, he's a good scorer but he's not dragging last line of defenders, and for a guy of his size his heading and hold up is literally nothing. Giroud was in good form, he's linking up well with the other 2 attackers, no idea why he left out, and we clearly suffered without him. There's only so much Pullisic could have done, he played ok, I reckon that move was just a sign Lampard was out of ideas at the time. We may still get the top 4, but if we don't, can't blame anyone else ( including VAR) for our poor defending, and inability to show up when mattered.
July 12, 20206 yr Comedy defending, I actually guffawed at the 3rd goal Well, the problems have been evident all season, gotta trust Frank to sort it out for us. come on you Blues !
July 12, 20206 yr To make matters even worse, today’s papers full of praise for Nick Pope ... is it too much to ask for a GK who saves shots, comes for crosses and has the build of a modern day GK? Cech, Courtois and now .....?
July 12, 20206 yr Does anyone remember the GK that Blanchflower signed for us? Borota, or something like that ... he was from the Kepa school of keeping!
July 12, 20206 yr Put the sheff utd defeat behind me now ,onwards and upwards to the next game ,but i still wish that Billy sharp for sheff utd had got some time on the pitch against us .i have a lot of respect for that player Even thou he might not be pulling up trees in the prem its his mindset that is top draw that many of todays players Even our players could learn from

July 12, 20206 yr Still laughable this defeat lol lol Chris Wilder knew exactly how to stop everything Lampard and Lampard simply had no response. Changing to a back 5 then back 4 without giving the back 5 a chance to get back into the game shows someone else who clearly lacking tactically. As soon as we switch back to the 4 we concede again lol lol

Yes the keeper is too short and puny with no balls to command his box. Yes Jorginho is no good at protecting the back 4. Yes Tammy has gone off the boil and the club would be stoopid to offer him 100K a week let alone anymore. But the way you lot have turned on SFL for losing to a very well drilled outfit who did the almost the same thing to the Spuds 9 days ago is a bit worrying. This man ain’t some high flying continental with an inspiring career and the next best thing in Europe he’s one of our Freaking own ladies and gentlemen. And unlike all the other well paid coaches appointed by RA he’s had little opportunity to bring in any players and was dealt this hand back last July. We all saw the same issues at the back since Contes last season - here are the defenders bought in since Conte - Luiz, Rudy, Alonso, Emerson, Zappacosta to join Zouma & AC & Tomori. We saw the same play patterns with Sarri whose now about to take the scudetto, but he was a crap manager as well per most of you lot who’ve turned on Frank & Jody now. It’s the playing staff, Eden was carrying this team and it to a large extent hid the affects of god awful recruitment, Frank won’t sort it out in 3/4 of his first season without new players, and if you’re one who feels he should maybe support Manchester City who have doped the league and will undoubtedly dope the CAS and be reinstated into the CL come Monday. In reality were all upset because at times this team has overperformed and like all selfish fans we expect that level always with a squad of poorly assembled players of varying skillsets. We would all have taken the Europa League spot last August under the circumstances. I put it to a lot of you - you’re moving the goal posts on Frank and it’s not right. still think it was a very awful result today, Wilder been at it longer and schooled Frank & Jody but it happens in life. I reckon we’ll end up on 64 points, enough for 5th hopefully and it’ll be down to Leicester’s form rather than United. No one's calling for his head. The criticism has been legitimate though. We have had the same problem since the start of the season. To not address it at all is dreadful. One good cross and one good ball over the top and we're finished.

A lot of the goals are down to individual errors and the basics every professional player should be able to do so you have to think it’s more down to the players. But at the same time it’s down to the coaches to work on it so what are they doing wrong? Let’s not forget arguably the most formidable defence in the country was very similar to ours 4 years ago and they had to buy to get to this point. City were awful at defending counter attacks under one of the greatest coaches we have ever seen. They’re still a little frail because they have players who are prone to mistakes and switching off. I can’t wait for us to buy a new centre half and hopefully he sticks Tomori next to them with Ampadu and one of Zouma & Rudi as back ups. Rudiger’s probably finished at Chelsea but can we sell him after bringing in Werner & possibly Havertz? Would be crazy to sell our only proper German speaking player this summer. Christensen I think needs to be moved on and we can get good money for him. Also what’s Guehi saying now? Sorry this turned into a bit of a rant but it’s just good to reflect properly after the anger we feel after we lose!

Every man and his dog knows how to set up against us, push us wide congest the centre of the pitch & they had 3 CB's to outnumber our attackers from the crosses and from an attacking perspective its all about getting the ball in the box as our defense and keeper are completely inept. Lampard changed to a back 5 and even though we looked better defensively we didn't look like getting back in the game, he wanted 2 go with 2 strikers against there 3 CB's which made sense but sadly Rudiger had other ideas. It was a tough day but one which I think allowed Lampard to learn and develop as a manager. Edited July 12, 20206 yr by Imran_CFC

Our 433 was no match for their 352, it is no coincidence that we seemed to control them once we switched to a back 3 and then lost control when we went to a 424. Hopefully lamps plays a back 3 against wolves at the end of the season to match them or it will be same story..

July 12, 20206 yr How is it that Aston Villas doesn't even let Crystal Palace sniff the goal but our defense makes them look like Barcelona. Our defense is absolute sh*te. Really hurt not having Kante and Kovacic also.
July 12, 20206 yr I will say Bournemouth dicking > and Leicester < 4-1 has given cfc some breathing space and helped that shower of sh*te team performance against the blades as > and Leicester < are still sat behind us .

Lamps can say whatever he wants but the defensive performance on the field is what matters. Sheffield was so good defensively, you can't tell me that a bunch of championship defenders are better than our current lot. Our players are better but the way the setup and training needs refurbishing. Get Christensen on a workout program, he is the skinniest CB I've ever seen. Rudiger needs to be converted to PR manager/Agent and Zouma needs to work on concentration and positioning. Get a worldie CB in and hundreds of hours on defending basics

That is an embarrassing statement. You are ridiculous. I disagree with you. Disrespecting the opposition because you don't like their CVs is arrogant and pretty weak in itself. I think we should have played defensively, tried to draw them out of their very fine and well organised defence, and then hit them on the counter. As much as our defence was garbage in fact we did terribly in attack. That's because our game plan was predictable and played into their strengths. Personally I also think that as much as there is no alternative to Willian neither can he play every game and he was clearly below his best in this game. CHO isn't at the same level but still it might have been better to give him a go from the start. Surprise is an incredibly important element of sport. So Frank can't do much about individual defensive errors and he carefully avoided playing Jorginho until there was no alternative but he could have had different tactics.
July 13, 20206 yr Bournemouth just potentially saved our arses if we take a point against Liverpool we should manage but our sh*t goal difference may come back to bite us, 12 worse than UTD having scored 3 more goals
